Personal Narrative: My First Day Of Cub Scouts

It was June 9 2010. This day was a ordinary day for most, but not for me. For me it was the first step to becoming a Eagle. June ninth was my first day of Cub Scouts. At five thirty in the afternoon, me and my dad finished eating dinner I went back to my room to put on my freshly dry cleaned uniform, which gave me a feeling of joy. Me and my dad both got into the car and off we went to my first Cub Scout Meeting. The meetings were held a Sandburg Elementary and I was joining Troop 1209. At the meeting, I was introduced to the entire pack. Then i was assigned to Den 12 or the Phoenixes. The most important people in my life at that moment was my dad and Den 12 because they helped get though so much as a Cub Scout.     Joining Scouts changed my views on many aspects of my life such as being a leader is much more than just telling everyone what to do but you most also inspire the people under you and make them want to work. Some of these included leading. My leading new leading skills allowed me to not just lead my troop but to learn from it and plan for the future. Also my time management skills got much better because i had to make sure my troop had enough time to talk and discuss about upcoming events, also to be able to have fun and learn new skill as well. I also became more self reliant because I was able to cook at a higher level, clean up my messes, and prepare for upcoming event in my life. Boy Scouts opened many doors for me.     I had so many new opportunities because of Boy Scouts. Such as being able to participate in multiply organizations inside of Boy Scouts as as the OA(order of the arrow) which is a spiritual organization that allows scouts an opportunity to learn about the Native Americans and their culture.
