The car has traveled hundreds of thousands miles. Through the hot summer days and the icy cold nights. The car has been a home to my oldest daughter. The car has been a place where she grew up. The long drive across town on the day she was born was just the start. We used to drive around town to get you to fall asleep and you went out like a light. I didn't think then that the car would become such a big part shaping your life. The second grade is when school was all too fun for her. You could see it in her eyes she loved to be there. One place she loved more was the dance studio. She put all the blood, sweat, and tears an eight year old could into her dancing. Leaving school and heading straight to dance everyday, the car was turned into her place. For the next five years of after school drives to dance and late night drives home the car became her second home. I could tell that she was not going to give up easily. From early ages all you could hear was a quiet humming of songs on the radio coming from the back seat. As she grew older and become more confident that hum became a loud and proud singing voice. The singing voice though everyone knew, including her, was bad that didn't stop her from singing loud. She knew she was bad, but she loved to sing along to the radio and no one was going to stop her. The day that she was going to drive her own car I knew I had set rules about how loud the radio was going to be while driving. The car was her safe place. Nothing means more to her than her sister. The love they have for each other is pure. From falling asleep on top of each other while they were five to falling asleep on top of each other when they are eighteen, nothing had changed. The whispers and secrets that the backseat of the car holds is enormous. There is nothing like the bond of sisters to keep those secrets
