For the last couple months i've been searching for a good car that gets good gas mileage. I was tired of driving my 94 chevy c1500 that only gets 12 mpg. I wanted either a 99 honda civic or a 97- 01 honda prelude. I was pretty picky about what car i wanted since i was spending my money on this car. The car had to be a manual, have little to no rust and had to be a 2 door “coupe”. I've always wanted a honda prelude because you don't see very many of them. A nice honda prelude with little rust and that runs and drives good was hard to come by, so i decided to just look for a 99 honda civic. After looking for at least 2 months i found the “perfect” honda civic. It had no rust, it was a 5 speed manual and had “low miles”. I texted the owner and asked some more questions about the car, he kept saying it was a great car with no issues. …show more content…
After asking all these questions and discussing a reasonable price, he sent me his address to go look at it.
He lived in Holland Michigan, which is 3 hours from my house. I looked for a car that was closer but i couldn't find one that was as good as a deal. After looking for a different car i decided i wouldn't i wasn't going to find a better car for the price. I woke up at 6:30 the next morning and got ready, i left my house around 7:00 to go pick up my friend Drew Platt. We headed for holland Michigan around 7:20, and didn't get there until 11:00. Once we got to the owner of the 99 civics house, i saw the car and it looked pretty nice. Drew and i looked it over and it looked like a decent car. The owner asked if i wanted to hear it run, i said yes. He started it up and the power steering pump was whining louder than the aftermarket exhaust, he told me that it probably just needed a new belt, but that wasn't the case. I took it for a test drive, this car was a 5 speed
manual. When i went to put it in reverse it didn't want to go in, which is sometimes normal. But the shifter didn't feel tight at all, so it probably needed new bushings. I asked the owner how many miles were on it and he said he didn't know because it was aftermarket motor with unknown mies. As soon as he said that i knew i didn't want this car. I was looking for a daily driver but that also looked cool and was a fun car to drive. I told the owner i didn't want it and headed back home. Later that week i ended up buying my brother Griffin’s 1994 volvo 850, for a lot cheaper than i was going to pay for the honda civic.
A 2009 Honda Civic was filled up with 12.99 gallons of gas and then a driver was able to drive a total of 590.5 miles before having to stop filling up again. While the car averaged 45 miles per gallon on 550 highway miles, the Civic received the advertised 25 miles per gallon when driving in. town. The sand is a sand.... ... middle of paper ...
into a local Honda dealership to buy a vehicle that is more reliable and efficient than it's
The car is in good shape just in need of a wash, wax, and a detail. Most of all though it needs a motor tune up and a new set of tires that don 't go flat in two days. That day they were working on the motor installing some new pumps and a new transmission that he had been given for christmas. My brother is helping him learning how to do things because he wants to be a mechanic someday. The boys are covered in gas and oil from head to toe but they are at least getting stuff done so we can drive the car to take my senior pictures in a few weeks. I remember dad telling me stories about driving that car he would tell me about how he had togo 10 miles per hour on his way home on the dirt road so he wouldn’t have to wash his car everyday. My favorite is when he was telling me about the old days when he would race his car against his buddies. The guys had the gas pump pulled off of the
His name is Seymour Glass and he served in some capacity in World War II. What we do know is that his wife Muriel Glass’s mother is very concerned over her daughters wellbeing around Seymour. She shows her concern when she states “How did he behave- in the car and all?” and when she reacts to the news of Seymour driving “He drove? Muriel, you gave me your word” (Salinger 6). Throughout the story it is implied that Seymour had incidents such as crashing a car and having an outburst directed toward Muriel’s grandmother. The severity of these incidents is never fully exposed, but 400 dollars to fix a car in 1948 is a lot of
...onda seems to be sitting on top. I prefer a Honda myself as I am sure you can tell. I own a 1991 Honda Accord ex, and would not trade it for the world. I am currently wrapped up in a project of replacing the engine. The new engine is a DOHC H22 VTECH engine, which is going to get me much more horsepower, but still allow me to save money on gas as well. My favorite color is Blue. I have blue adjustable coil over springs, camber kit, and air intake. I cannot wait until my car is finished. Maybe, I can be the next documented driver to reach one million miles on an older car. With everything that has been presented to you the only question that is left to ask yourself is which car lot will you be traveling to in the future?
dissonance, I decided to store the car at my parents house and only drive the car infrequently. I
Most American cars are not hybrids or fuel-efficient, they are usually big SUV’s or trucks that get eighteen to ten miles per gallon. Most of Hondas, Toyotas, and Hyundai’s get around 20 to 30 miles per gallon, and hybrids get 50 miles per gallon. Peoples demand fuel-efficient cars because oil is i...
What kind of car do you drive? Is it a piece of junk that is falling apart? Are you looking to buy a new car? Are you attending college presently? If you answered yes to the majority of these questions then you could be in the market to buy a Honda Civic.
Did not think that I was getting a car because I think I would have to drive my grandma old rusty up car that blow out smoke and starts making so weird noises like keys or coins falling out of something. Listening to the engine in my car sounds like two people racing a car. The color of the car is dark like the sky at night looking so nice and pretty the way I like it. Being in the car and the smell of it smell like a new couch or a brand new place. Hearing the sound of the car when cracking it up and the dew is all over the windows is so annoying when hearing the window shield wipers scarping like a person finger
It took him six months of scouring the ads, but he'd bought me a car that's only five years old. It's an Acura Legend and appears to be in excellent health. The leather seats are as comfortable as the Peugeot's, no gremlins live in the CD player, and the AC and heating systems have no viruses. The sunroof is dry as a bone, and the car starts whenever I turn the key. Overall, I'd say the car has a superb attitude.
Our correspondence stopped, and I started to look for other cars. Over the rest of my search, I realized that the price offered by the first dealer was very good and I decided to give it another shot.
He said he just need a tune up and some work done on the carburetor. It was a little older car, but it too, like my Camaro, was very nice. He was a busy man and asked if I would pick it up directly from his house and bring it to my father’s shop for him. I complied with his request and set off for his house. Once I got there, I climbed into his car and tried to start it. It didn’t start, and was making some weird noises. I got out of the car and began going through a checklist on why it wouldn’t start. The car had enough gas, and the battery was at full charge. I decided to check the oil. I opened the hood and pulled the oil dipstick out of the tube. I just about passed out. The car was out of oil! I just ruined this mans car. I committed this mistake, which means I was responsible to fix it. I called the owner of the car and told him what happened. He was not happy to say the least. He used some very harsh and inappropriate words, and I promised him that I would fix his car within the next week. Now fixing a car that has been run out of oil is a very time consuming and costly task, so I was a slight bit

Cars play a very important role in our lives. These days, we cannot imagine our lives without having a car. We use cars on a daily basis to get to work, school, and other events. Cars became part of the American culture in the1950s. In that era, the cars inspired authors, singers, and movie makers. Nowadays, we also refer to the “American car Culture” whenever we have a discussion about cars with each other. Cars have made our lives so easy because they are convenient and time-saving. Cars are also a symbol of a status for an individual in a society. If a person is wealthy, then he/she buys a luxury or sporty car, which isn’t affordable for everyone due to very high price. Cars reflect the psyche of the American people because they give them the feeling of independence, which we
I lived with my father for my entire life, but due to his work I did not spend much time with him. My father worked at a different city; and thus he comes home only a few times a month. My father is a mechanic. He works at a company that is distant from our home. This was due to the company being the only one and the first where cars were being assembled in Ethiopia. Sometimes on the weekends I used to go to his work place. He would give me a trip of the place; the station was filled with vehicles, trucks, and motorcycles. It was separated by sections. In each section there were only one type of vehicle and the assembly process was shown step by step. From a fuse to large engine of the car, components were getting attached.
