I believe that life is all about consciously improving yourself, and putting as much effort as you possibly can into what you do. The more you push to improve, the closer you come to your goals, which can be long-term like graduating, or as short as going to sleep at a reasonable time. Everything anyone strives for comes down to self-improvement. Every single thing you do can either advance you in life or set you back. If you are not searching for ways to improve, then you will end up behind the people that are looking to be better. If you are not putting full effort into your activities and in your life, you will be slower to achieve your goals. Then the time it took to get to your goal is not worth the wait when you could have been down with it a while ago. Although the idea that you need to be improving sounds like a lot of work, small improvements is okay to start with. While we were discussing the different problems, I was still working on the previous lessons that I had missed when I was absent. Because my focus wasn't on the current lesson, I tuned out the lecture that we were going to have a quiz on. After the test, I saw that this was my first spot for self-improvement. I should have looked at the stuff I missed before class even if it was only for a brief period of time. Then when I was at home, I pulled up the power point used in the lecture and my note handout that was still blank. I then tried to fill out my notes while understanding and not mindlessly copying. This was harder than it would have been if I listened in class.
