Expensive bikes and wheels. People do not have enough money to buy their own things, so that is why you have to find a way to safe some money. When, I was growing up I did not know how to ride a bike. I am fourteen and I still do not know how to ride a bike. I want to learn how to ,but I am to scared that I might fall and brake an arm or a leg. When I look at little kids ride bikes I sometimes feel sorry, that I should have kept trying and not giving up on myself. Yes, all the people understand that you do not have enough money to afford it. Make yourself a yard sale, sell cupcakes, brownies, and all. When you see a little kid riding a bike do not be, jealous that he can ride a bike and you can not. I learned a lesson that everybody …show more content…
When I kept reading on I knew that Tracey was doing something to earn the money for her new bike that she wanted. Base on what I read it stated that, "Cheyenne's bike a shinny, pink and white, ribbon bedazzled bike with a silver bell and sparkling pink spokes that made a loud whirrrrrring sound was perfect and identical to the bike Tracey wanted and had seen on sale for $99 at the store just the other day." Ask yourself why would I want a bike that cost almost close to a hundred dollars. When I can find a new bike that would cost less. If Tracey does not get her bike soon imagine what her life would be like in the future. Walking every time to school, ask friends for a ride, or ride the bus. According to the text it stated, "Tracey huffed as she finally made it home after school.¨ It was so hot and steamy that her hair swirled wildly around her head like a cloud." Some parents are hard on their kids because they have no jobs, kids are sometimes bad at school, and some things cost to much. Based on what I read her mom stated to Tracey that, "Well, I guess you'd better save up your money, then!" her mom
There is a slight glimmer of hope when the school year ends and the girls all receive their report cards. They stand eagerly in the hallway, none of them can break their gaze at the slips of paper in their teacher’s hands. Pashtana finishes 15th in her class and in this moment looks forward to a new year in the 8th grade. Unfortunately, Pashtana and her family were living off of $7 a week, a dollar to spend a day. She soon got married to her cousin and has not been back to school since their last day.
My book is about a thirteen year old girl name Raspberry Hill. She is a black African American girl that lives in the projects with her mom and they don’t won’t to live there. Her mom is a hard worker. Raspberry is afraid of being homeless again. Time back, her and her mom lived on the streets, lived in family houses and got kicked out. Raspberry doesn’t wants to be on the streets any more so this is why she has her mind stayed on money. She will do anything to get her hands on money. She will get down and dirty, skip lunch, skip school, clean houses and sell nasty rotten candy to the kids in school. When she goes to school she always has candy and pencils to sell to the kids in the school. She has 3 friend’s name Zora who has a single farther name Dr.Mitchell that’s in love with Raspberry’s mother, which upsets both of them, Mia who wants to be identified as black, but has African American and Korean parents, Ja'nae who stays with her grandparents but is urgently wanting to stay with her mom.
In the beginning of the story, the reader could tell that Ashleigh knew how her father was “always there if [anyone] need[s] him,” but not invariably there when she needed him (36). This detail allows the reader to know that Ashleigh’s dad is not always ready to help Ashleigh, and Ashleigh doesn’t like how spasmodic her father is towards her. Ashleigh’s father also struggles to think about the feelings of his family members as he “got all of his favourite kinds of Chinese” and did not make the effort to get Ashleigh and her mom what they preferred (37). If Ashleigh’s father does not make the effort he needs to about little things, Ashleigh can not trust that he has thought through something that causes her to be dishonest with her mom, especially since the whole situation appears to be very sketchy. Ashley will not steal the money because she knows that not only is it wrong, her father may have not thought the consequences and depth of the task he is asking her to complete..
Have you ever rode a dirtbike? I have my dad got it for me on my 9th b-day. After receiving this dirt bike, I now ride it all over the place. It has become apart of my life!
Janie is faced with a mystery and she chooses to solve it all by herself. The determination helps her find the dress she was wearing in the picture on the milk carton and also a name that was called Hannah. Janie confronts her parents, finally, about the dress and the name Hannah. Her parents say that Hannah was their child and that they were her grandparents. Janie believes them at first but slowly gets more doubtful. Eventually she thinks that Hannah, who is her supposed mother, kidnapped her and gave her to her parents and did not tell them. I think that Janie made the right decision by confronting her parents, however, I think she should have done it
Being at a new school she has no friends and no adult figures at school whom she trusts, the only teacher we see makes her cry. Throughout Riley’s life, joy has always been her most powerful emotion. All of her “core memories” are joyful ones. Usually, Riley is a friends, family and hockey loving silly girl. Although this is great it also holds her back. The first night in her family’s new San Francisco home, her mother comes in a tells her how proud she is of her a how Riley being strong is helping them, her parents, get though the difficult time of the move. Although this shows good intentions, it can also be harmful. This puts a lot of pressure on Riley, something she is not ready to handle. It also seems to force Riley to hold in some of her emotions, like sadness, and only show joy. If Riley is unable to talk about her feeling with her parents, then it is unlike she will ask for
...ore to the mom who has a better grasp of what’s going on with their financial situation that the daughter would. The idea of possessions stating our status in society is very real today. We are classified based on the type of phone we have or the clothes we wear down to the car we drive. People think the guy who drives the Mustang must been super rich but that doesn’t mean he actually is it is all just superficial and we view what others financial situations are based on what they own. Our possessions are another way we tend to view social and economic status and these things are shown in the story “Volar”.
Bicycling was an exciting experience for two reasons. First, it has allowed me to travel around the city. Second, it gives me a chance to hang out with my friends. I love bicycling, I think it is fabulous! I can now observe my city, the people that lived there, the architecture, and the trees and animals, etc. Sometimes in our life, we just need to slow down our pace. We're so used to rushing through life that we don't even know what we have missed, but It's hard to blame ourselves because we're busy about our jobs especially when we were living in the city. I was once like that; I head right straight to school when it's time for school. As I walk I would only stare at my watch instead if looking to my left and/ or right.

Her and her best friend try to find boys to hang out with then they leave with the boys and meet up at the movie theater when it’s time for them to go home. One day, Connie got caught up with a boy she had meet and lost track of time. When she got to the meet up point, her best friend was nowhere to be found since it was well over the time that they’re supposed to be home. Connie arrived home during very late hours and was met with an angry in the living room. Connie and her mother got into a heated argument and there were many things that were said, that shouldn’t have been
They struggled daily to just put dinner on the table to feed Kayla and her four younger siblings. One day, while in Mrs. Daniels math class, Kayla’s name was called over the intercom throughout the entire school announcing that she was to report to the office immediately because there was an emergency. Everyone in the classroom stared at Kayla as she frantically ran to the office. After that day, we hadn’t seen her in over a week. Until one day, there was a special education teacher walking around to every classroom handing out a piece of paper to every student. Come to find out, Kayla’s house burnt to the ground that day she was called to the office. The paper that was handed to me read, “Unfortunate family in need of clothes and food”. I had talked to Kayla a few weeks after the incident, when she told me that not only was she not in school because they were moving into a shelter home, but because of how embarrassed she was that someone was passing out those papers to every student without her family’s
Erika’s sweet sixteen is today, and her parents bought her a brand new car. She pulls into the school’s parking lot and flaunts about how her parents not only got her a car, but also a trip to Italy. People start to walk away, even some of her best friends. As the day goes on, her friends have not talked to her since morning. Fed up, Erika asks them what is wrong. Kristie, one of her friends, tells her how they cannot stand listening to her talk about her ostentatious gifts anymore. When Erika gets home from school, her mom asks her what is wrong. It is then she realizes what her friends were trying to say and tells her mother she does not want the car anymore. Her mother, astounded, asks why not and gets a reply of money cannot buy friends, nor can it buy happiness. According to “Does Money Buy Happiness,” by Don Peck and Ross Douthat, they disagree with the connection between money and happiness.
“That winter,it felt like every time I saw my father, the sun cast off just a little more warmth than it had day before.”It uses past tense so she must not feel that way about him after he used her for the money.Ashleigh’s mom also trusted him before because she didn't expect it “And Mom was always prepared, except for what dad did to her.”So the mom must have noticed the money was gone before the dad paid it back and he probably took the money and left or else Ashleigh wouldn't have got caught her dad would have. Also I noticed Ashes told her dad where the money was even and didn't think anything and she opened the teapot herself even “Sometimes when mom wasn't home, I’d take the lid off the teapot and stare into it, imagining what i could do with two hundred dollars.”She thought of taking it before but now she has a reason to take the money.Another thing about the mom is she used to be a dreamer like the dad and in the story Ashes says “But I was the only dream she ever believed in and once i failed her,she never let herself dream
Some people like to stay in control of their life and avoid any amount of extraordinary risk to protect their self-disclosure. Other people don’t shy away from challenges as they are confident that certain obstacles are nothing more than just another thing standing in their way from living life to the fullest extent. Through personal experience, I’ve realized that personal comfort is nothing more than a variety of fears that limit me from challenging myself.
I was in a stage of shock. I really thought she was going to blame me for taking the cookies. “I was hungry and I didn’t think I could wait for dinner to be done cooking. I took the cookies without asking. I’m sorry momma.” Samantha’s story sounded so fake but, I went alone with it. “It’s okay sweetheart. Next time just let me know and we can fix the problem. You did break the rules and I want you take out the trash tonight and tomorrow.” Mom commanded. Wait, is that all she has to do? I yelled in an angry voice.
What is a false memory? How the false memory works? And where is it from? Before answering to those questions, we should firstly start by explaining what is a memory. According to the poet-essayist Oscar Wild, “Memory is the diary that we all carry about us”. Defined by a cognitive psychologist Margaret W.Maltin as the process of retaining information over the time or by other as the human ability to use our past experience to determine our future path, the memory involves three distinct processes. The encoding which allows the transformation of the information into the format that can be stored in memory, the storage that helps to maintain that information and final the retrieval stage, which occurs when information stored in
