With pride shining in his eyes, my grandfather came out on the back porch again, resuming his seat to watch the preceedings with a smile. “Welcome to the Pack, grandson, you will make our People proud.” As Sam explained my new responsibilities as a protector of the Tribe, I finally manage to calmed down enough to phase back. Since I grew up with the tribal legends like other kids did fairy tales, I quickly recognized what this meant for me as well as my people. Before they left, Sam turned to me. “Quil, I know this is a lot to take in, but I do have to ask you to stay away from Bella, at least until you are in control of your wolf, for if you don’t, you risk injuring her; therefore, this is an order.” When he looked into my eyes to ensure my obedience, I whimpered, because I could never hurt her…never. …show more content…

Barack Obama’s Inauguration address was delivered to the American public in order to express the goals of the president for his upcoming term. This address would be president Obama’s second as he is currently in his second presidency term. The purpose of this speech was to share with the public the vision he had for his next term, what his future ideas were, and the rights we Americans hold. Throughout the use of vivid examples, anecdotes, and facts, the president demonstrated the challenges our current generation faces and the duty we have to our country and fellow citizens: working for a better tomorrow. For exactly 15 years, 4 months, and 6 days, I have been a proud citizen of the greatest nation on earth. From birth, I have been gifted with the freedom to say whatever I desire, pursue the career of my dreams, and act as I choose without the fear of oppression or social injustice, a blessing that is a rarity among today's global community. What I didn't receive at birth was the sense of patriotism I have instilled within me today.
President Trump was sworn into office this past Friday and, just like every president that has come before him, he gave an inaugural address. Promising to “make America great again,” it seems as though the American dream will soon be in reach- but that wasn’t the message most Americans received from his address. Inaugural addresses are known to set the tone for the upcoming presidential administration.
He said “I am happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation.” to show how excited his is to get involve in such an important
On the Monday October 27th, 2014, for the first time in 4 years I did not wake up at 5:30 in the morning, I was not putting on a green skivvy shirt and shorts. There was no formation, no one that was higher command I had to report to, telling me where I had to go, what time I had to eat breakfast, what was I doing this day or what our platoon plans were for the day. There were no PT (physical training) I had to do this morning. Instead, I woke up grab a regular t-shirt, khaki shorts, and my two sea bags full of clothing and gear that I collected during my time in the Marine Corps. I threw everything in my vehicle and drove from Camp Pendleton, California to Quincy, Illinois. Within two weeks I was accepted to Southern Illinois University Carbondale. For three days, I stayed at the
Here the audience cheer. They show their appreciation of how America is recovering from these hard times. Most Americans would have experienced war by having sons, daughters, neighbours or friends serve. America played a large part in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. We are given a 360 degree of understanding when Barack Obama says ‘you elected us to focus on your jobs, not ours.’
As the bushes and brush grew more solid I began to ponder. Will I make it through this forest tonight or will I be taken in by the thick of the mystery? Sounds from sluggish foot steps caused a vibration around me that lead me to stop in my place and listen closely. Could this forest be haunted or was I just over exaggerating? I started to get very nervous by this time. “It will be just fine,” I told myself. I am just imagining things. I continued my journey through the forest but negative thoughts were running through my l...

The ground was blanketed with snow, there was a faint growl, I started running as fast as I could, if it weren’t for that chain I would either be in the hospital or dead. As I stood in the snow, I could feel the warm blood dripping down my leg and a sharp pain in my head as if someone had just hit me with a hammer. For a ten-year-old who was enjoying his summer road trip to Kansas with his Guardian, Uncle Steve, everything during this moment would stay drilled into my memory forever. From here on out I would forever remain cautious and be more aware of what animals were around me.
When Sam’s actions caused me to stop pacing as his statement cut me to the quick, I glared at him, refusing to follow his orders. “No, she’s my best friend and I will not leave her! Why would I ever do that?!” As I sneered my reply, I was unaware that my body was beginning to tremble.
