Where’d the ACL GO?!?!?!?!?
On this one gorgeous day in the small community of Cotopaxi. There was a battle about to go down. The battle was going to be between Paxi and Cheraw. You could cut the tension with a knife. This day was going to be a rough one and everyone could tell. This team that we were play were good in their conference and their conference was way better than ours. This was our last regular season game and this one did not rank us any higher or lower.
Let's take a step back, I woke up and I was not well rested. I thought to myself this is game day and I am still super tired. Then my Dad came into the room and said get your lazy butt you got a game today!!! I got and got all my stuff ready and checked bag not once but twice. I was ready to head to the school. My car barely started it was so cold out and I could see my breathe come of my mouth clear as the smoke leaving the heat of the fire. As I started to leave my mom ran out and told me that I had forgot my football stuff, so I rushed back in and grabbed the bag off the floor. I was now completely

This so we can get pumped up and hit someone. We sit in the dark, drinking Gatorade and listen to our jams. Then while we sit there in the dark to light appear and we know that it is Game Time. This is when we all head to the locker room to get dressed, but first I always go and talk to coach and ask and tell him about stuff on my mind. Now I head to the locker room and this is really a symbol that this is Game Time. As we get dressed you can slowly hear everyone getting pumped up. How I know this is because we come into the locker room all mellow and as we get ready and pumped then the noise level starts to go up. Suddenly the noise stops and we all know coach is in the presents because it gets tense. We would now talk about the game and say our prayer and head out to
Before we started, we had a meeting with the Coach and he said to us, "This is what we have been working for all year, so now let us show them what we are about."
Everyone feels the need to belong. Some people find the answer to fulfill that need in sports. In the United States, the go-to sport is football. Following one’s hometown team or childhood NFL team through the regular season, playoffs, and hopefully, the Super Bowl has become a staple for today’s culture. Whether or not their favorite team makes it to the big Super Bowl game, they still find themselves cheering on one of the teams competing. T...
This was the day of my big game, the day where we had to win this lacrosse game. If we didn’t win this game, we would get knocked out of the playoffs. If we didn’t beat Dedham, our season would be over.
SOI-The purpose of this creative piece of writing is an entry from one of our hockey games from tournament. I have tried to use a connection to compare battle or war to hockey, to make the story become more brutal and realistic. I have written in first person to show that it is in my perspective and what I recollect from the game.
School is over time to go to the Bison Locker Room. It may smell like sweat that is five days old or clothing that hasn’t been washed for a year at a time. Playing the vicious game of football the smell becomes part of me. Once I walk into the locker room the stench hits me in the face, as does the decorations put up by the parents to give us some motivation to go out and beat our opponent and make them look like a rag doll. From the time I enter the locker room all I think about is the game. The room is silent and I am able to tell that all anyone is picturing is the game that is to come in about an hour.
The wheels on the bus went round and round, all the way to Paonia. The ten mile trip seemed to last forever. Whoosh, Whoosh was the only sound could be heard as the wheels ran through the new rain puddles that were created earlier that day. It was dead silent, you could have heard a pin drop. We all knew what was at stake. For each of us it was a different thing, but on both sides of the ball we knew that in order to have bragging rights for the rest of our lives this would be the game that we would have to win. Every other game that season didn't matter as long as we won this game. Every hit would be remembered on those days when we would be sitting down as old men drinking beer or coffee. There would be talk about when we flew around the field with each other who hit who and who knocked who on their can. The bus was not a sleeping silence, it was more of a tense silence. The type of silent there is when a group of civilians enter the surrounding of another expecting to leave with something they shouldn't. The main thing we were expecting to leave with was respect. Its all about respect. This was the type of game that every hit and every block counted. We knew that we will be partying with them the next spring, and we wanted bragging rights. That was the type of silence that it was, all the way to Paonia.
I remember one time, back in high school, I had basketball practice right after school, but I decided to tell my coach I was sick. The night before I had stayed up way too late doing homework and just really needed to go home, relax and catch up on sleep. The next day, I found out the team had to run extra laps because three girls, including myself, had called in “sick to practice. I felt so bad that they all had to run extra, they were probably tired too, but went to practice anyways.
Our kicker went on to kick the extra point, as only one minute remained on the time clock. The Clark Cougars went on to beat the Williams Warriors. I could see it now on the front page of the town newspaper. "Clark demolishes Williams for the first time in 14 years!" We finally beat the best team in the world! As we celebrated, and jumped around on the soggy grass, a tear came to my eye. It was all hitting me now. I finally achieved the goal of my life! I could not control the tremendous smirk on my face. As I watched the coach from the opposing team cry in agony, I thought to myself, "That must be what they call the agony of defeat." I knew that the moment of my life I had long waited for, was gone. Only memories are left in my mind, and I cherish every single one of them.
Less than twelve hours later, the mailman walked up to a house with my aunt dead on the front porch and my uncle inside on the living room floor dead. The screams caught the attention of the neighbors and the police were then called. This is a significant experience in my life that I faced and that had an impact on me during my freshman year and still affects me today. It was a homicide/suicide accident and it deeply impacted my family and me. Not only did it affect my school life, but my home life as well.
It was November 1st and it was the day of my last volleyball game. I ran into my friend Eri and we started talking about the game later that day. It was against Tunkhannock. They were the best volleyball team from our area, and wouldn’t you know it on our senior night we had to play against them. Senior night was the one night where the seniors were recognized, whether they were good or not. The whole day the team was joking about how much we would lose by against our rival team. In a game to fifteen we thought we would end up owing them points.
...ple cheer on a favorite team or a parent cheering on a child those are also stressful times because you want to play good and when for the fans and all of that cheering and excitement can make a person get stressed out but it can help the way the person plays the game and even win in most cases.
It was in the middle of winter break. The temperature was somewhere below zero and outside was what looked like a record breaking blizzard. Even inside with the heat on it was FREEZING and I mean FREEZING. So I’m curled up on the couch watching tv with the room heater directed at me and the five other blankets that I have piled on top of me.
All of this is the time when everyone is getting prepared for the upcoming game. We all get dressed up into our warm ups and get active before the game. Every single time I do the same set of stretches and movements before the game. Doing this also leads me to believe that it will improve my game. After warm ups I walk into the locker room to get out of my workout clothes, but only to get into my equipment.
My mom and uncle ran inside to get buckets and my other uncle ran to get the hose. I was standing there like a statue I was frozen my dreams turned into a nightmare. I thought. I was so sad I was wailing because some of the hot lava packed ash fell on my legs and feet it left a mark of gray pencil. I picked it up in my hand and it smeared like paint my mom and uncles and dad ran across the street and water
It was competition day! I had to wake up at 7 in the morning. When I woke up I went to a breakfast place in the hotel and got breakfast with my mom. Then, I brushed my teeth before I got my uniform on so that I wouldn’t get toothpaste on my uniform. Next, I got my uniform on.
