It’s August thirty-first, a comfortable eighty-two degrees with a crisp breeze. I’m in my two month old car, in fact my very first car. A two-thousand-fifteen Kia soul with color sparkling bright, as if it was titanium steel that has just been polished, equipped with two tone hounds tooth interior and the infamous new car smell followed by a hint of vanilla. I was driving down Dallas Acworth Highway at thirty-five miles per hour, just starting to crest the top of a small hill. Windows down, revealing a cool but gentle breeze, as the sun was kissing my face, it was if I were a dandelion seed being carried by the wind. Radio blaring Turn Down For What by Lil John, with the base buzzing causing the soul to shake. Feeling caught up in the moment …show more content…
In response to the immediate left hand turn, I slammed on my breaks to prevent an accident. It’s surprising how fast you can transition from one moment to the next. Luckily, I stopped just in time to avoid hitting the Toyota, or so I thought. Just as I was about to let my foot off the break, I heard loud foreign sounds. The first sound was a loud squeal, like someone has stepped on a dog’s tail. The second sound sounded like a roll of thunder forewarning an oncoming storm mixed with a crunch. I cautiously looked around and started to smell a burning smell, as if someone was burning a pile of leaves. Starting to think to myself, “What is …show more content…
The thoughts were water rushing down the rapids or in my case into my mind. Is the “Other person injured?”, “How am I going to pay for this?”, “Is my dad going to be mad?” I get out of the car and call 911. After I stop shaking I give the dispatch lady my name, location, and description of each car and what time it occurred, 4:02 pm. An average sized man gets out of a dark green well used Chevy Tahoe and says “I’m sorry are you alright?” I say yes and we exchanged names. His name was Chris. As we waited for the Georgia state patrol I called my dad apologizing and trying to keep from breaking down into
When I was fourteen I began the search for a vehicle. I want to find an older truck or muscle car to fix up and have done by the time I got my driver’s license. So every day I would search the web for what would be the best looking, easiest to work on, and cheapest vehicle I could find. I fell in love with the look of the square body Chevy short bed trucks and it was all the things I was looking for; the hunt was on for the one for me.
When I turned twenty-two I was excited to purchase my first car, I had been saving for 5 years in order to obtain the car of my dreams. I knew exactly what I wanted, all the “bells and whistles”, and I knew exactly what I was willing to pay and not a penny more. I thought I had a strong knowledge of the sales and pricing of the particular car I was hoping to buy, because I had done my research for weeks browsing and comparing the Sunday car ads. I was assured that my knowledge of the sales would get me a fair price and a great deal. However, my overconfidence and naivety, in the “creepy” sales tactics used by the dealership, made me unaware of the three hour nightmare that was about to ensue; leaving me brokenhearted, angry and vowing to never step foot on a car lot again.
Out of nowhere, I hear the sound of knocking coming from the
The day started off like any average day, I took a hot shower, got dressed and got prepared for the day. It wasn’t until I sat down and started eating my bowl full of cheerios with extra sugar, that I realized what was actually happening. Today would be the day I finally bought my first car, after a year of hard work and conservative economic decisions.
Do you remember how you came across your first vehicle? How was your experience? Having a vehicle comes with many responsibilities and expenses. I will never forget how I meet my first car.
I got my car right before the beginning of summer. Brand new was not an option so I opted for a shiny-black, used Jeep Liberty. It was not in meant condition, but I was just exstatic as long as it had air conditioning that might just turn my fingers blue with frostbite. I had my car for a total of four months, however, before it became an unsightly crime scene. How did my car get wrecked one might ask? It all boils down to one decision I made. One bad choice could destroy a lot of things, so don’t let people convince you into making rash decisions. That was my mistake, and I'm still paying for it.
This is it, the day it all comes to fruition. Saturday night, right around dinner time, my dad and I set out to meet a man to look at what could potentially become my first truck. We had been interested in the truck for quite some time, and today was the day we decided to make an offer. It was quite a lengthy drive in my dad’s old beat up Chevy, but I knew that it would be worth it. Finally, we arrive at our destination, and things couldn’t have worked out any better.
When looking to purchase a car for the very first time there are many things that should be thought about and taken into consideration before purchasing. Most people get their first car between the ages of sixteen and twenty. Several things they may want to focus on when selecting the right car for them the cost, gas mileage, dependability, safety and durability. At this age an individual would be looking for an inexpensive, durable, affordable insurance, dependable and low-mileage vehicle. They would want something with fairly decent gas mileage that has been serviced regularly with no issues. Most people around this age are more interested in two door vehicles than four doors. Buying a car for the first time can be challenging that’s why it 's important to have someone with experience to help with question and help guide them in their purchase.
Have you ever been so excited for something that the night before you couldn’t sleep at all? I couldn’t get it off my mine, I couldn’t focus on anything else. After driving around in my little yellow car for a year or two, it was finally time for a much needed upgrade. I didn’t want to be the girl in the “Yellow Bomber” anymore. The car I was going to get was a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox 2LT. When I got to take my car home for the first time, I instantly fell in love with it. The first thing I noticed that I liked about it was the style, color, and the interior. After driving it for a few days I got use tot the features it has and I liked them a lot. Of Couse an added bonus was how safe it was on the road and the 2-wheel drive.
Which Car is Best to Drive? When I get home from school, occasionally there is a surprise. Often a new car is added to our growing collection. My dad tends to buy vehicle after vehicle, either because it is a good deal or we need it.
A precautious individual, I began to pedal at a slightly increased rate. Still I didn't feel as though I was in any real danger, until the car flew past me, grazing my arm. An excessant shriek erupted from the car as it grinded to a halt at the coming stop sign. Then, to my greatest horror the white lights on the rear of the car ignited......the car was going in reverse.
Even when I was younger, I loved to pretend that the steering wheel was on the right side of the car and I would be the one pressing my foot on that pedal. So now that the time actually came for me to drive on my own, on that open, terrifying road, I felt like my stomach was on fire. I was so ecstatic that if we needed bread for dinner or that I needed to take my sister into town for practice, I could be the one sitting in the driver’s side of the car. I loved the idea that I could be responsible for running the errands, helping out the family, and being independent. The day finally came on August 14, 2016, and my stomach was like a fireplace blazing in the winter time, I was sure that I was going to vomit.
Suddenly, I heard a low rumble. I opened my eyes. The sound was
My stomach retched, my throat dry, had I got myself into this mess? A distant thud echoed across the cold, hard floor, ricocheting into my ear. Someone was coming.
I lived with my father for my entire life, but due to his work I did not spend much time with him. My father worked at a different city; and thus he comes home only a few times a month. My father is a mechanic. He works at a company that is distant from our home. This was due to the company being the only one and the first where cars were being assembled in Ethiopia. Sometimes on the weekends I used to go to his work place. He would give me a trip of the place; the station was filled with vehicles, trucks, and motorcycles. It was separated by sections. In each section there were only one type of vehicle and the assembly process was shown step by step. From a fuse to large engine of the car, components were getting attached.
