It was a Monday morning my grandma was talking to my mom on the phone and my mom always lets us heard their conversation, so they always talk to for a long time and after 30 minutes my mom was turning sad and when she goes to the room me and my sister know something has happened and then I went in my mom room and the door was locked and It was a difficult time for our family that time. My mom tries to get more information and figured out and when we went to go pick out my aunt, my grandma told us that one of our older cousins was shot we did not know how but I think what I remember what my mom was talking to my grandma, and she said that he got kidnapped and the next day he was shot at I don't really know how that happen because it I could
Growing up as an only child I made out pretty well. You almost can’t help but be spoiled by your parents in some way. And I must admit that I enjoyed it; my own room, T.V., computer, stereo, all the material possessions that I had. But there was one event in my life that would change the way that I looked at these things and realized that you can’t take these things for granted and that’s not what life is about.
A calm crisp breeze circled my body as I sat emerged in my thoughts, hopes, and memories. The rough bark on which I sat reminded me of the rough road many people have traveled, only to end with something no one in human form can contemplate.
I know she heard us but she never opened her eyes again until that last moment, she opened her eyes one last night and my grandma told my great grandma “it’s okay mama go ahead daddy’s waiting for you I love you” that was when she took her last breath. It was July 29th around 3am when my dad came in my room and told me “Haley I’m going to the hospital grandma is gone.” At first I just said okay I was in a dead sleep so I didn’t comprehend it in that exact moment. A few minutes later I got out of bed I heard my brother pull in the drive way he left work early to come home and he and I sat and looked though pictures together shedding tears and laughing and asking each other if we remembered this. We all went up my great grandma’s house where all the family gathered about an hour and a half later. Even then I was fine it wasn’t until my grandma walked in the door which is my great grandmas daughter as soon as she did she just sat in my great grandmas’ chair and stated sobbing and that’s when it hit me that she was really gone this wasn’t just some dream it was real. I could taste salt from my tears running down my face into my mouth. After that it was all a complete
I was asleep in the middle of the night when I herd a sound coming from outside of my house I woke up and I ran to my brother's room, he was sleeping in the bed with his girlfriend, I woke him up and said that I had herd a sounds outside the door, he said: "be quiet, do not make a sound", I did as he said and then I saw that he took a gun out from the madras, then he walked to the door and started to listen to the door then he saw out of the window and saw three guys one was in a car and two that was robbing his car, he was so mad that he kicked down the door and started shooting, he got one of them then he started to shoot at the car, he didn't hit the one inside but he did hit the other guy that was running away, he dragged him to the sidewalk and said: "open your mouth and put it on the curve", he did as my brother told him to do, the man was shaking by fear, then my brother started to scream and started kicking his head, he kicked his head so hard that he broke his neck and jaw, the man died instantly, then my brother saw the police and he just starred at me, he started walking towards the cops, they said: "don't move, put your hands behind your head and get down on your knees", my brother did as they said, he was thrown in jail for two years
went to sit down on the sofa. A few minuets later my food was ready
I had spent the night at a friend’s house and I couldn’t sleep so I called my mom to come get me and bring me home. On our way home I talked to her about how I wasn’t comfortable sleeping away from home and how it scared me. When we got home I rushed to the door because my grandma and my little sister Alyssa were waiting for me. As I opened the front door I could hear screaming and voices I had never heard before. My heart started racing and I couldn’t think about anything but that I wanted to see what was going on. I shoved the front door open and my mom rushed to be behind me. As we walked into the house I was my grandmother screaming at someone and hiding my little sister behind her. Alyssa looked terrified like she was being attacked. My mom
On the Monday October 27th, 2014, for the first time in 4 years I did not wake up at 5:30 in the morning, I was not putting on a green skivvy shirt and shorts. There was no formation, no one that was higher command I had to report to, telling me where I had to go, what time I had to eat breakfast, what was I doing this day or what our platoon plans were for the day. There were no PT (physical training) I had to do this morning. Instead, I woke up grab a regular t-shirt, khaki shorts, and my two sea bags full of clothing and gear that I collected during my time in the Marine Corps. I threw everything in my vehicle and drove from Camp Pendleton, California to Quincy, Illinois. Within two weeks I was accepted to Southern Illinois University Carbondale. For three days, I stayed at the
It was a day like any other day at El Retirito,El Salvador.Until my grandpa sent my aunt and cousin to get food from somewhere. On their way,,they had to go up a hill. The hill had a fence around it.Beside a pole of the fence, was a girl. She had blonde hair tied in low ponytails, and blue eyes. The girl motioned my cousin to go to her.As my cousin was walking her direction,my aunt looked at her.She could not see the girl, but she knew something was wrong. My aunt pulled my cousin’s hair and hit her to stop.My cousin said she didn’t feel anything. She just kept walking.Suddenly, she began to cry.She didn’t know what was going on.My aunt took her back home.My cousin told my grandma what she saw.My grandma did not believe her.But
My father's eyes opened, and he called out for my sister Kelly and I to come to him. In a very serious and sad voice, he told us that he was very sick, and he was going to the Fort Wayne hospital. My mother told Kelly and I to help her pack some things for him, because he was going to be leaving soon. We helped her pack, keeping quiet because we did not want to interrupt the silence that had taken over the room.
I could hear my mom talking to a strange man which later I found out it was a cop. My uncle came into the house and told me to go play in my room for a while. I asked him about
Finally, like at 11:00 pm we got home and were exhausted, but really happy. I was working by the time, and started my Monday as usually, full of work and stress. When I came home, my mom told me Yessica, my aunt, was no feeling good and went to the hospital. I did not pay a lot of attention because I
Religion has always been confusing for me when regarding myself and my family. Everyone around me had their own or didn’t have one at all. My grandparents were catholic and taught their six kids in a catholic mindset. All my aunts and uncles got baptized, went to church every Sunday, and read the bible. Once they got older they stopped going though. I don’t think any of them even stills believes in god anymore. Then there’s my sister, Julie, who was raised catholic in her younger years. Her grandparents would take her to church and Sunday school and even wanted to get her baptized as a baby. My mom said no though so she wasn’t. When Julie was in Elementary School her grandmother sent her to a religious camp. I didn’t have to go though because
I woke up on October 5th, my 65th birthday, in a twenty-one-year-olds body. My first clue came when I awoke to an abundance of energy rare for me. The first big shock came when I raised my hand to push my hair from my sleepy eyes and saw soft smooth skin. The hair that hand touched was long, soft and wavy. Nothing like my thin, straight hair. Fear skittered through me even as I acknowledged to myself that I had not felt so good for a long time. What is happening? As I got out of bed to head for the bathroom I saw a fine pair of legs ending at pretty feet with painted nails in a soft coral. Rushing to the en-suite bathroom I froze in front of the mirror staring at a beautiful, I mean genuinely, without makeup, beautiful, young woman staring
Everywhere I go, she is always there. Not in a physical sense but more in a spiritual sense. I understand it is all in my head but every time the scent of vanilla appeared, she automatically comes to mind. How she would wake up in the morning with her hair in my face and her back facing me while my arms rested around her waist. Let’s just say it was my favorite place to be. She was the only one I needed. Then things got strange. The sun started going down sooner and the moon started to glow brighter. I know we will be together forever. Will, such a strange and yet demanding word. One night, the wind was blowing hard and the snow just began to fall. Coincidently it was our two-year anniversary. I had just bought a ring for the girl of my dreams and no, it wasn’t a proposal. It was more of a promise ring. She never has had one before which is pretty insane due to her incredible beauty. Any man would be lucky to have her and I’m the lucky one.
It was a cold morning. Dark and rainy. I woke up at 3:00am, packed the last items, and left to the airpot to catch my fight. Arriving at the airport got me quite excited for this vacation (I had no idea what was in store for me). We checked in, got food, waited for the plane, boarded the plane, took off. On the plane, I sat next to my cousin who was a few years older than me, thinking it wouldn't be so bad - oh boy was I wrong. Not only did we have to deal with our annoying sisters, we also had: an elderly lady needing to use the restroom every 10 minutes, a crying baby infant of us, and a little boy who love to kick the seat. Finally, the plane landed in, the ever so beautiful, Florida. As I thankfully got off the airplane, I went to go
