The morning of August 4, 2016, Juliann woke up excited and nervous. She put on the perfect outfit she picked out the night before. Juliann did her make-up and hair, as butterflies danced in her stomach. She practically ran to the bus stop and impatiently waited for her bus. As the bus rounded the corner, she realized tears filled her eye. Overwhelmed with fear and excitement Juliann boarded the bus to begin her first day as a freshman. During the first three weeks of Juliann's freshman year, she made new friends, learned new procedures, and worked to learn how to use a chromebook. As Juliann stepped off the bus(,) she was overwhelmed by all the students coming from every direction. She looked at the multiple brick buildings and …show more content…
All of her teachers are hardworking, compassionate, and dependable. They care about their students and their students future. For an example, Juliann was having a little trouble in Algebra. (S)he went to Mr.Hill, her algebra teacher, and asked, “ How can I improve my grades?” He answered, “ Juliann, you are welcome to come to tutoring in the morning.” Having teachers that are caring is important to her. She wants to do her best because I do not want to let them down. So far, her freshman year has been as exciting and fun as she expected it to be. There are a few things that Juliann does not like. One is, she noticed was drama is a lot worse this year. It seems everyone is talking about each other. The other example of what Juliann dislikes is being embarassed. The other day Juliann accidentally walked into the wrong room during the middle of class. Juliann did not realize she was even in the wrong room until the teacher asked, “ Are you sure you are in my class because you aren’t on my roster?” Juliann was mortified, but she realized mistakes happen. I am sure she will not let that happen again. Just call it, her lesson
Now I wished that I could pen a letter to my school to be read at the opening assembly that would tell them how wrong we had all been. You should see Zachary Taylor, I’d say.” Lily is realizing now that beauty comes in all colors. She is also again being exposed to the fact that her way of being raised was wrong, that years and years of history was false. “The whole time we worked, I marveled at how mixed up people got when it came to love.
Her first week as a freshman college student reveals a lot about the culture of undergraduate college students to her. It shows her a completely different perspective of their lives since she’s a professor, and times have significantly changed since she was a freshman. Obviously, it is very hard for someone of Nathan’s

Rachel was Melinda's friend all of middle school but she turned out to be a complete jerk to Melinda. Heather was a fake friend who only stuck by her side until she was accepted in a ¨cool¨ group. David Petrakis is a nerd who is almost in every one of Melinda's classes. They grow close mostly because they both have no friends, but he is a true friend. Towards the end of the group Melinda starts to come out to Rachel about why she called the police, but Rachel just got even more upset. Melinda thankfully realizes how bad of a friend Rachel is on page 198 ¨I don't want to be cool. I want to grab her by the neck and shake her and scream at her to stop treating me like dirt. She didn't even bother to find out the truth – what kind of friend is that? ¨ Melinda gets close to her art teacher. Art is the one class that Melinda enjoys because she gets to be with her new friend Ivy. Ivy and David are the only people Melinda has, but that is enough for her. On the first day of school Melinda recalls being the only person sitting alone on page 134.¨ I see a few friends people I used to think were my friends—but they look away. ¨ Positively Melinda has found the two only true friends in her school and starts to become a more optimistic
Her classmates yelled for her to come back, but she was no longer interested in what they had to say. She ran as fast as she could, to get away from it all. All of the ignorant comments that she’s heard throughout the past years have built up, and this one brought her to her boiling point— she had to let off some steam and get some time to herself. As she ran, she saw the door getting closer and closer to her reach, and a knowing smile grew on her face. When the door came within arm’s reach, tear of relief rolled down her cheek. Kyla pushed the door open with all of her might and sat in the corner of the cold, empty stairwell.
Melinda starts school off in a bad way. She continuously gets in trouble with numerous teachers. She never does any homework. She mostly takes naps. Worst of all, in her mind, she has no friends. This does not change until she meets Heather, the new girl. Heather is...

My name in is Sanger Rainsford and I am applying to work at the anti-hunting support group for animals, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). I have the passion to advocate for those animals that are hunted on a daily basis by humans. Animals don't have the voice to say their feelings, so I will. I am able to understand first hand both the hunter and the hunted’s perspectives.I am able to see both sides because I was a hunter, I loved it in fact. But, I was also hunted. And I hated being the hunted.
Seven thirty in the morning, confused, and gazing at my first experience of college I had no idea what this semester would have in store for me. Within the second story of Vawter Hall about fifty to a hundred students are crowding the hall awaiting the arrival of their professors. I was no different; unlike these other chatty energetic individuals I was alone, and desperate to get this first day over with. At eight o’clock bells chime through the building and the students have now dwindled down to those who I will later come to know as classmates and those few who had overslept on the first day. Eight fifteen, the little crowd starts to stir; the professor has still yet to arrive. Around eight twenty a woman with short cut hair arrives in a hurried manner, clearly upset to have arrived after her students. However, to her surprise, and those of her students, the door was
The moment I stepped on the ferry was like no other. The feeling of the moisture from Lake Superior on my skin was breathtaking. I have passed Mackinac city a million times but never experienced the heart-stopping beauty of Lake Superior and Mackinac Island. When I arrived to the island there were thousands of people all around me. I have never been accustomed to how many people were around, and on such a small island. Living in Michigan for almost half my life and moving away from this experience was something I thought would never happen. I really took living there for granted. I had never realized all of the things I never did until after moving and coming back to Michigan to discover more. I moved to Wyoming the beginning of summer 2010.
Never did I expect to count the days to finish playing a sport. Better yet, never did I envision myself having genuine suicidal thoughts. As a child, when I first began to play sports, my father told me to always maintain an aggressive mindset when competing; however, what he failed to explain was how to control it. Beginning in middle school, regardless of the task, I withheld that mentality to power through any form of adversity I faced. In class, I often felt like a single ice cube in a freezer as other students laughed and I showed no facial expressions. Here I stood, a small kid with such a large amount of anger to be willing to fight anybody despite unfair advantages. In the eighth grade, my mother had to switch my schools after getting
Believe it or not i actually have helped somebody. It was in the summer of 2013 ,and he was one of my best friend’s up until i moved to piedmont. We did almost everything together there would be days that’d go by because i’d be over at his house or vise versa. We decided to to get our motorcycle license a month after we both turned 14. After we got them all we had so much fun with them.
