HAHAHA me and my friend, Kimberly, we are hanging around deciding what we should go on first. We started off simple with the caterpillar. The ride was okay, we rode the ride a couple of times around, but then Kimberly said, "this is getting boring." So, then I said, "let's go to the one where it's like you're flying on kites." That one was fun it feels like you're free and flying when you're going down your stomach drops a little. Then, I was "let's go to the REALLY fun ones." We went on one where it takes you high up and when your higher up you can see beautiful view of the carnival, all the light, colors, people, and the Farris wheel. We were taking the view, then suddenly, we felt our stomach drop we closed our eyes, it felt like our
When I was about 10 years old, my mom took me to a roller coaster theme park in Massachusetts. I was terribly afraid of the huge roller coaster that appeared in front of me, and while I waited in line, the anxiety of waiting to die in a roller coaster made my heart beat through my chest.
After walking past those, my family and I walk under the giant globe. It is an enormous structure and walking under it made me feel like an ant. It was white and had the appearance of a giant disco ball. There was a line to go inside the globe too. This was a ride called Spaceship Earth. It felt cold and cramped walking into the globe. When I got on the ride, it brought us back in time. Anyone could choose their own language, so we thought of listening to it in Japanese. This showed cave men, the Romans, the Egyptians, people from the 1800s, and people from now. This ride also showed us what we would do in the future. It was a funny feature, where it showed ourselves flying in hover cars and using other futuristic inventions. That was the end of the ride after that.
Have you ever felt the rushing wind on your face while spiraling through the air? Well if so, then you have probably been on a roller coaster. This October was the first time that I have been on a roller coaster. Traveling with a group of friends, went to the Haunt Night at Worlds of Fun. It was quite an thrilling experience. There were zombies and goblins prowling around, waiting to give you a scare. When we were on our way I was nervous, but excited. As we all trudged up, Keeshawn, Paige, Makenna, Cooper, Katie, and I went to the first ride, The Patriot.
The next day we went to Hollywood Studios at Disney World. It was really hot that day, but it was still super fun. That was my first time going on a roller coaster. I was really scared, but my parents convinced me to go on one, and now I love roller coasters! We went on this ride that was supposed to be like flying through the sky around the world called Soarin’. It was a really cool experience. We also went on this ride called the Tower Of Terror. It was really fun.
It was my first "near-death experience," as I like to call it; little did I know, I would endure several more experiences similar to this one in the following year and a half, while residing in Portugal. After several months of fearing, my life, followed by vomiting, I decided to create a method for relaxation in the Portuguese taxi.
So I was looking forward to this ride just to see my grandma like that. The ride itself was more of a sit and see ride. We sat on a boat, and it would move slowly so we could see all of the little figurines from the different cultures move and dance. As the ride went on, the song “It’s a Small World After All” would play, and I would look at my grandma and she would have this happy face and she would be clapping along to the music. I myself enjoyed the ride because it was meant to be a happy ride, and let me tell you, it was certainly was happy. Those rides were really fun to go on, but they didn’t give that intense feeling that I was looking for. Enter Splash mountain, my personal favorite ride from the Magic Kingdom. This reason this was my favorite ride is that when we went on it, we all got soaked. It was kind of funny listening to my family react to getting wet, especially my grandma because she hates getting wet. Plus when we went down the long slide at the end, my heart felt like it went out of my chest. It was an exhilarating ride, and I had a good time on
I have always been fascinated by carnival rides. It amazes me that average, ordinary people eagerly trade in the serenity of the ground for the chance to be tossed through the air like vegetables in a food processor. It amazes me that at some time in history someone thought that people would enjoy this, and that person invented what must have been the first of these terrifying machines. For me, it is precisely the thrill and excitement of having survived the ride that keeps me coming back for more.
Your friends have to practically convince you to change your mind in matter 30 seconds. At this point you can hear your own heart beating in your ears. Everyone seems to vanish and the only thing that you can see is the seat of the roller coaster that has sweat on it due to the previous rider whose nerves got the best of him. There is no turning back now and you have no choice but to get on the ride. Sitting on the ride, waiting for the ride to begin is the most heart wrenching part. You cannot prepare yourself to be flown 50 miles per hour. When you take off, it feels as though your breath is being pulled from your body. For a slip second, you feel like you can’t catch your breath, and you can see the people in front of you desperately trying to gasp for
Then, something happened, something just clicked and I started to enjoy the ride not be scared of it. I started to laugh and stick my hands up and my aunt looked happy as well. We went everywhere. We twisted and turned and looped upside down, it was so much fun! We got off after going for what seemed like nothing it seemed like time had stopped while we were on there then Snap! Just like that we pulled into the station and the seats opened as we slowly got
I was smacked in the face by a gust of hot, humid Texas air as I found my way off the bus. The once brisk morning was getting hotter by the second. My friend Kristi and I looked towards our left and there she was, the Norwegian Sea. The cruise liner that we would be on for the next week. It was the biggest ship I had ever seen up close. Ten stories high and nearly 1000 feet long. It had an intimidating presence that took one's breath away.
I went on the fireball ( a circle roller coaster) it was a scary. It was a thrilling and fun type of ride it was like facing dead in the eyes
Austin taught me how to kick a soccer ball, how to curve a soccer ball, how to serve a volleyball, how to return a volleyball serve, I was a setter this volleyball season and I was just as good as the grade 9 setter. Austin has really helped me with my volleyball skills and me being on the main line in volleyball since grade 6. He also does fun things with me like sports. All my other siblings are too lazy to do anything with me even as easy as bringing the baseball gloves out and playing a game of catch. Austin always wants to go outside with me which is awesome and he lets me decide what.
Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright once said, “As a leader, you have to have the ability to assimilate new information and understand that there might be a different view.” The statement seems simple enough, but in order to fully appreciate it, an understanding of a fairly uncommon word is required. This word is assimilation. Though at first glance assimilation doesn’t appear to be too daunting a term, its diverse definitions play a significant role in more domains than many would initially anticipate.
For those of you that don’t know what that is, it is exactly as it sounds, the track that the roller coaster glides on spirals around meaning you go upside down then back upright. When we started going into this cork and I noticed we were not picking up speed, just as we started going upside down the roller coaster came to a complete stop. It was so thrilling and a huge adrenaline rush. I kept waiting for the coaster to start going again but when it didn’t I was scared to death. I realized that this wasn’t part of the ride, we were stuck.
When I heard my parents talking about going to Disney World I was so excited. It was a long trip down to Florida and I could not sit still, because I was so excited. We finally arrived that evening and decided to stay in a hotel near the theme park. When it was time for bed I could not go to sleep for a long time, because I was so excited about going at Disney world. When I saw the big mirror ball from the entrance, I was amazed. Disney world had a wide variety of rides. There were tons of rides that shocked me. Some of these rides made you feel like you were riding in a jet because of how fast they were. There was even a roller coaster ride in the huge mirror ball. It was a slow ride, but I still liked it because there was air conditioning inside the ball. We spent all day at the park until we had ridden everything. That night Disney World had a firework show. The fireworks seemed like they lasted forever with the amazing colors bursting in the air one right after another. When the firework show finally ended my parents told me that it was time to leave. I was...
