It all started with a fish, a chair, and a really bad smell of course I am getting ahead of myself and I wouldn’t want to puzzle you (or would I), you see maybe there is no actual fish, what if the chair just smelled really bad, Maybe someone was smelling bad and they sat on the chair and now the chair smells bad. What if there actually was a fish and that’s what smelt bad… so now I was looking around for the fish. I was thinking to myself “gone forever,” just then I felt something squishy in my coat pocket, and I said “Wow would you look at this!” and pulled out some moldy playdough. I think this will taste good so I took a few bites. A it tasted like play dough first I thought it tasted like something I have tasted before but the I felt
I quickly devoured it when I thought no one was looking. When I walked back to my cabin. My dad was sitting inside. Then when I went back in the cabin my dad scolded me and hit me for taking the bread, yelling furiously at me. You could have gotten us in lots of trouble he exclaimed. He then apologized and told me not to do it again. What have I come too I thought to myself.
The night before Easter I couldn’t sleep knowing what a great day it going to be with delicious food. I had a dream of all the great food we were going to bar-b-que with sides and desserts. My dad and I woke up early Easter Sunday to get everything ready and I knew it was going to be perfect. We started bar-b-queing and I just love the way it smells when I just barely put it on the bar-b-que pit. Especially after the meat cooks for a while, and I open the lid and a white cloud of smoke emerges into my face like when a car burns out and I just inhale then exhale the aroma of the meat. My family and I love to bar-b-que for Easter, so we invite our friends and family to come to our house to have fun and to have a memorable time. My dad, my tio, and I are the ones who love to bar-b-que while my mom, my tia’s, and my girlfriend are making all the sides and desserts. My dad, my tio, and I are in the back of the house by the fence to the left of the house with three bar-b-que pits while my mom, my tia, and girlfriend are setting up the tables under the patio to place the scrumptious food an...
Growing up as an only child I made out pretty well. You almost can’t help but be spoiled by your parents in some way. And I must admit that I enjoyed it; my own room, T.V., computer, stereo, all the material possessions that I had. But there was one event in my life that would change the way that I looked at these things and realized that you can’t take these things for granted and that’s not what life is about.
SWISH! I turn my head to the right with a grin and see my mom cheering as I scored my first points of the season. The last game of the season I scored my first points of my middle school basketball “career.” Now sit back and relax as you read the story of how I got my first points in middle school basketball.
Later that day, after all the cooking was done my aunt called me over to the kitchen to try the pernil she had cooked. As I walked over she opened the oven, and that awful smell came rushing out, she cut me a piece to try. I was so scared to try it because of the unpleasant smell, but I did it anyways. The taste was worse than the smell; I couldn’t get that piece down my throat. I had to tell her the truth.
Here we are, 13 years old me. It was summer, in 2017. My friend Bryan and I were going into eighth grade, and starting to look at relationships more seriously. Bryan wasn’t really into them at this point, so when a girl started to like him, he didn’t care. We met this girl named Krista, from other friends. She was 5’3”, pale, funny, and caring. Krista immediately went after Bryan, doing whatever she could to make him happy. Bryan finally had to tell her how he actually felt. After doing so, she came to me. Looking for comfort, in which I gave her. We both started to catch feelings after talking for a week or so. Then one night, everything changed. She was mine, and I was hers. We had gone to Panera for a “first date” and we had a blast. We sat next to each other, I had my hand around her and her head was on my shoulder. I don’t think I had ever been so happy in my whole life. All I could think was, how did I, pale, short, athletic, and crazy, get a girl like that.
I gave her a fake smile, and slipped my own shoes on. The left foot boot had a huge stain that was as black as the midnight sky. I looked at the doorway and could see my mom and dad carrying huge loads of presents into the back of the truck. I keep looking to see if they were carrying a small rectangular box that was the size of an iphone that I have been wanting for like, EVER! I decided to look away and have it be a surprise because maybe if I got something good this year for Christmas people would start to notice me. Anyways, my cousin Bella had a iphone that was so cool, we used to play on it all the time, just me and her.
I woke up on October 5th, my 65th birthday, in a twenty-one-year-olds body. My first clue came when I awoke to an abundance of energy rare for me. The first big shock came when I raised my hand to push my hair from my sleepy eyes and saw soft smooth skin. The hair that hand touched was long, soft and wavy. Nothing like my thin, straight hair. Fear skittered through me even as I acknowledged to myself that I had not felt so good for a long time. What is happening? As I got out of bed to head for the bathroom I saw a fine pair of legs ending at pretty feet with painted nails in a soft coral. Rushing to the en-suite bathroom I froze in front of the mirror staring at a beautiful, I mean genuinely, without makeup, beautiful, young woman staring
It was a hot, cloudless day in the middle of summer. I just finished talking to my mom about going to a friend’s house. I rushed to my room to pack my backpack with clothes, a hairbrush, and a toothbrush. I sat down, waiting for a call from my best friend, Morgan. Finally, the phone rang. I picked it up in a heartbeat, I told her that it was okay if I could go to her house. My dad drove me to her house, and I was greeted by her dog, Keziah and her four horses. When she came out, we both sat down on her hammock and thought about what we wanted to do. We decided to go on a ride. The two of us strolled to the horse pasture and led two horses, Onyx and Moochie, to the hitching post to be brushed. We spent the whole morning getting them clean
This morning, I worked up to get ready for school. I put on mo clothes and brush my teeth. I ate breakfast and got ready to go to the bus. What! My mom running to me to give me my lunch. I got on the bus and we were heading to school. I sat in my seat getting ready for class.
I will never talk to my sister again! It all started at 6:30am my dad woke me up and told me to get ready for school so I stumbled out of my comfy bed in my dark blue room and turned the corner then my dad told me to wake up my sister because he had to go, he worked as a bus driver so he has to leave at 6:30 every morning, so I walked out of my room through the hallway and straight to my sisters room, I ran up the steps as loud as I could to try to wake her then I got deeper and deeper into my sisters grumpy teenage room so I turned the corner turned on the lights and screamed WAKE UP SYDNEY!!!
Sitting as still as possible on the forest floor, I watch the squirrels jump from tree to tree and i listen to the birds flutter their wings and call out to the other birds in a beautiful chirp. Its as if i didnt exist to them and for some odd reason,i found a great deal of comfort in that.I close my eyes even though with the sun shining directly in them,it is only less dark and not black. the wind shifts the trees and brings the scent of the nearby flowers that have only just bloomed so they're poignant and simply irresistible. The smell is so strong,i can almost see the wildly vivacious and vivid petals. Some would be lying on the ground and some would be clinging on the their plant, creating a beauty that nothing else can create and
As a child, I never even fathomed getting a real, paycheck granting job. The mere thought that I would have to do this someday overwhelmed me. At times I wondered if I could just stick with my $15.00 weekly allowance for mowing the lawn and washing the dishes for the rest of my life. I always figured that I would just stay young forever and never evolve into such a money hungry teenager.
I tilted my head up,my eyes turned wide. When I had looked up, I saw all these new faces and My brain was on overload. I suddenly see a face that I recognize. Our eyes locked immediately. Footsteps clack until they reach me. It's an old elementary friend. We walk around trying to figure out where our classes are. I found my first period. She wishes me luck and walked off. I walk in. I could hear my heart racing in my ear.....
‘...and remember students, your short story is due on Monday’. I lifted my head from the desk and turned to my friend who was sitting beside me. “Ah shit, that’s due. Have you done it yet?”
