From the beginning, I knew I wanted to attend induction for the NSCS. I wanted to learn more about this society that I was not completely familiar with. Not only did I want to learn about NSCS, but I also wanted to experience the induction and have my family be there for this huge opportunity.
The main reason I attended induction was to hear more about what NSCS is about. I knew National Society’s participate in service events, but I was not entirely sure about the other aspects of the society. I did not want to join a society and not fully understand what I will be priding myself in and what I would be representing. I am glad I went and got to learn about the leadership that NSCS brings and the networking opportunities that would be made available to me.
I also wanted my family to experience and enjoy the opportunity that was made available to me. I worked hard to be acknowledged for my achievements and being inducted to this society was a big deal for my family and I combined. They have supported me through out my whole school career. Unfortunately, my family was unable to make the hike to University of Maryland, to be able to

attend this event. On the bright side, my chapter recorded the induction and my family was able to enjoy the induction from a different state. For the most part, I really enjoyed induction and I felt like I learned a lot about our chapter and the many different activities that I can participate in.
I also liked that they made the induction available for family’s of out of state students to watch. On the other hand, I did not like how the aspect of service was not emphasized. It was never once stated the amount of service hours that was needed per semester to be considered an active member. I felt that this made me feel out of the loop and behind on hours that I could have had signed off for. I also wish that they made the ceremony a bit more personal. They quickly read through the names of the new inductees and we didn’t get a group picture of all of us on the stage. These are the only two things I would have changed about my induction at the University of
Maryland. Attending the induction was an easy decision for me. I believe that everyone should have to attend induction, in order to be part of this society. The induction allows new members to meet each other and learn more about the society they joined. Through induction, I learned about my chapter and the society itself, I was able to make my family proud, and I was able to meet the new members of my society.
I believe that my academic background has prepared me perfectly to be a member of this great organization. While a student at Syracuse University, I had the opportunity
National Honors Society is an extremely prestigious and well-known group that gave me the opportunity to assist the community while working harmoniously with my peers. To get into NHS, there are four pillars one must fulfill, including, scholar, service, leadership, and character. One may not realize it, but these qualities apply all throughout life. In order to be successful, one must achieve some form of each pillar. Being dedicated and committed to learning and improving but also using the knowledge one previously has is to be a scholar. Giving back to one’s community by making improvements or donations or simply just being courteous to one’s neighbor is to give one’s service. Taking the initiative to solve problems and guide others towards
I would like to begin with saying that I am honored to be invited into the National Honors Society. I am continually setting high standards for myself and to join a group of like minded people would be a very satisfying reward. I consider this invitation for application an incredible opportunity for forward advancement in my scholarly journey. So, to dive right into why I would like to join this honored society, I will briefly expound on my character and traits for you.
The National Honor Society is based off of four pillars: Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. School is an extremely important part of anyone’s life, and I feel blessed that I have had the opportunity to attend Lutheran schools from Kindergarten until the present. Our Shepherd Lutheran and Lutheran High Northwest have helped me to grow in my faith and to continue to grow academically as well. Attending these schools has also allowed me to participate in many different extra-curricular activities such as Varsity Soccer in my freshman year, Varsity Track my sophomore year, Pit Band for school musicals, Jazz band, and Pep band. This 2009-2010 school year I also have the opportunity to be the First Chair Flute and Piccolo in regular Concert Band and the other band functions which will provide me with an opportunity to gain experience in leadership which will help me in college and in my future career. Service is an important activity to participate in. During the past two years I have helped my mom and the rest of the committee at my church with funeral luncheons. When there is a funeral at my church the family of the deceased has the option of having a luncheon at the church, and if they choose, following the funeral, the committee that my mom is on takes care of getting the food that the family wants, serving the food, and then cleaning up after the luncheon is over. When they need help I also go and help out. Also, my family recently became a Foster family for the Michigan Humane Society. In November of this year, I am going on a mission trip to Madrid, Spain, with my cousin, who is a pastor, and a group from his church, Valley Springs, in Roseville, California. Our main aim is going to be talking to the college students there and trying to plant churches. We are going to be helping them work on their English, and I will get to use my Spanish. I have also had the opportunity to work in the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer nursery which was my first paying job. Every Sunday morning I am in the nursery from 9 until 12, or later if needed, watching peoples children up to four years of age while they attend church.
It is a tremendous honor to be considered for membership in the most prestigious Honor Society available at Wapato High School. It is even more grand to be able to work towards enrollment in the Society side by side with such an astoundingly gifted group of young men and women. I am only being considered for potential membership in the National Honors Society because I have demonstrated an exemplary academic attitude, and have proven this through the grades I have attained during the years I have spent in the Wapato School District and the fondness amongst my teachers I have achieved. There are also other characteristics besides good scholarship I must fill for membership in the Society, those being services I have done to benefit others in the community, leadership positions I have held, and an original and interesting demonstration of
My goal was to stay positive, knowing that I am surrounded by hardships and oppression due to the color of my skin. I had to face this, but also maintain a smile on my face, knowing that my despondency would please the privileged. One reason why I want to be a woman of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated is because of the greatness that has surrounded me in my adolescent years. I was unaware of the strength of the black community until I met the marvelous Mrs. Billie Rayford. I was honored to be granted the 20 Pearls Foundation scholarship by Mrs. Rayford, as she has seen the potential in me to be a successful, driven individual I’ve dreamt to be through my years of community service and being a voice for the community I’ve resided in. She has shown me, as a black woman of Alpha Kappa Alpha, that there are no limits to success. She has shaped me to become less worryful and more open to take information from those with experience, as that is key to substantial growth. She has guided me throughout high school and I appreciate Mrs. Rayford for that, as her honesty, humble nature, and hard work will never go
I am writing to inform you of my possible contributions to the National Honor Society and my interest in becoming a member. I view myself as a strong minded individual with a strong incentive to learn. Acquiring the ability to learn fast and adapt quickly has enabled me to be a part of a wide range of organizations. My participation and loyalty to the NHS could result in a great strive forward. I could provide more ideas of services to benefit the school and our community. I would also devote a large portion of my free time to the organization and assist in any way possible. Whether that means coming in early in the morning or staying late after school, I would do any means necessary to show my commitment.
I wish to take the time to give thanks for this impeccable opportunity in applying for the highly sought after National Honor Society. I have been looking forward to embarking on this journey since I heard about this organization freshman year. I am truly elated to be one of the many students that qualifies, as I know the standards of excellence and character that must be exemplified and met.
As a student at Northvale Public School, I have grown up with my older siblings being inducted into an organization called the National Junior Honor Society. I had seen all the hard work and dedication they put into their school work and activities just to get into this society, making me want to be just like them. Then a few weeks ago, I found a note on my desk in homeroom telling me that I had been nominated to be apart of this society. Through citizenship and character, leadership, and service, I intend on being inducted into the society I have heard so much about. Though it will take a lot of effort this school year, being a part of this society is a dream of mine that I will make sure to come true.
I was very excited when I heard that I had been invited into National Junior Honors Society. The first time I heard of NJHS, it instantly became a goal of mine. When my older sister left for college I was very sad, so I think that this is a way for me to keep a part of her. I have always been that little girl no one understood, because I’m always very excited to learn and get back to school after summer break. I’m very happy to see that I’ve been invited, but this is why I should be accepted.
I am profoundly honored to be among the exceptional people who are being noticed for the National Honor Society. Being considered to join the National Honor Society is an honor in itself. It proves to me that I have accomplished my goals and worked to the best of my ability. In all my years as a student I have always tried to do the my best to get the highest grades. I do not just focus on my academics, I also strive to be a benefit to Stevenson High School. Achieving my goal in becoming a member of the National Honor Society would give me a great sense of honor and joy both academically and personally. As a human being I have aspiration and academic excellence to offer to the National Honors Society. I would be thrilled to join The
National Junior Honor Society as a nation premier organization started to recognize outstanding middle-level students. NJHS is a way to honor students who have demonstrated an extraordinary amount of excellence in the areas of the five pillars which are, scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. This organization that was started in 1929 is a great opportunity for me to show my family and teachers how hard I work to get this far. I am deeply honored to be among the exemplary student who are being considered for this program. This organization the so many great things in society, and knowing that I could potentially be a part of it and play a part in futuring the impression that the organization has already made. I am a determined student, and will do anything to do my absolute best even when something hard is thrown my way. I have always hoped to be a part of something big like National Junior Honor Society, and I hope that this will be my chance to be a part of something big. In my essay I have provided several reasons why you should consider me being on National Junior Honors Society.
Being inducted into the National Honors Society is what I have been waiting for. Becoming a member is nothing more than a dream come true, and I appreciate it greatly. If I am to be chosen as a member I know that I will be a positive and dependable participant in society activities. Due to my abilities and past experiences, I can be considered a valuable candidate because I demonstrate the qualities of leadership, service, and character. I do feel that if I am chosen, I will do nothing detract from the prestige and respectability that is associated with the society.
National Honor Society is constructed upon four fundamental pillars: scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Each one is an important quality and is demonstrated throughout the organization’s leaders and members. They are taught and respected because of their huge impacts departed on the chapter’s surrounding schools and communities. Before I joined N.H.S., I displayed the four pillars in varies activities, groups, studies, and events. My acceptance into N.H.S presented many new prospects for me to join other organizations and projects. However, I still lacked in my confidence and could improve each attribute.
Motivation is something that can affect everyone, it could be for money, punishment, or even sex. My biggest motivation was whenever I wrestled in high school, it was just the feeling of getting my hand raised on the matt knowing I won. Some people may ask what else do I think motivation is. I happen to know someone who I think defines Motivation, her name is Corina Herrera she is a 27 year old, single mother of two MMA fighter. I have never met someone who is so dedicated to do something. “ I knew I was born to fight” , she once told me and she had proven this is what she is meant to do.She had a fight the beginning of August 2016 she worked day and night cutting weight and training. Her goal is to get into the UFC and I know with the hard work and dedication
