Introduction:
For this analysis, I choose to do a professional research paper on my Alma Mater, North Carolina Wesleyan College. After spending four years my life living and working on this beautiful campus, I now would like to use this paper as a reflection of my experiences. I am very familiar with this college and its organizational culture. I will answer my research question from the prior student prospective and as a current alumna. Not only was I just a student, I was very involved in my experience. I will use this paper as an opportunity to gain more knowledge about the policy aspects of Campus Activities and social events (parties) hosted by a number of student organizations on campus.
Problem statement:
The problem that North Carolina Wesleyan College currently faces on campus is the lack of recorded records of criminal activities during social events. This is a campus safety issue; the college can implement new policies in the Student Handbook that make organizational changes. Policy changes can improve campus safety during social events, although the numbers of crimes reported on campus during social events are not a significant number. A Social Events Crimes Report was prepared solely by Ms. Cuthberson for the purpose of this research paper, based off public knowledge. The Social Events Crimes Report findings are located in the Case a Study section. The small numbers of crimes that were reported can be viewed as positive, in comparison of the number of social events (at least once a month) that are held on campus yearly. Every crime reported draws a red flag and add room for improvement within the college.

Most studies of personal fits in organizations use measurements of personality to compare it to individual characteristics and job characterize situations. Let's analyze the culture of individuals that is choosing in the hiring in the process. Lee & Antonakis (2012) used great sources to explain the culture and the individual concept. "Culture affect how individuals think and adopt (Mead, 1978) and influences one's concepts (Markus & Kitayana, 1991: Mastumoto, 2007) how one values choices (Iyenqar & Lepper, 1999) and how one exercises control over the environment and self (Morling & Everered, 2006)" This how individuals are hired.
I decided to analyze and examine the social structure of the Greek System in Syracuse University mainly out of curiosity. When I was high school I remembered hearing from various of my former classmates, who were then freshmen at college, that one of the best activities students experience were attending the “frat” parties students threw. In high school, I thought that college parties were the same as the ones found in movies like “American Pie” so hearing people speak so fondly of college parties confirmed my beliefs of what the social aspect of college was. Now that I’m a freshman at Syracuse University, and have experienced the social atmosphere firsthand, I’ve noticed how different the social scene on campus really is in comparison to the movies and how it is greatly enhanced by the Greek community.
Also, the colleges that attempt to cover up the crime should be penalized by not our justice system but the media so the world can be better informed about the college they either go to or send their child to. First I summarized "Fraternities and Collegiate Rape Culture: Why Are Some Fraternities More Dangerous Places for Women?" written by A. Ayres Boswell and Joan Z. Space. The. Then I used information from my criminology class to better define violent crime. Lastly, I explained how rape on campus is not a cultural component.
Greek organizations are debatably the most undervalued and misconceived aspect of college campuses. Most people don’t see the benefits that fraternities and sororities bring to college campuses and their communities. Some see these organizations as large beneficial clubs and others see them as potential problems. Many of the allegations put forth by individuals that discredit the benefits and good deeds done by Greek organizations are weak justifications for their removal from college campuses. Greek organizations provide campus communities with academically responsible students, philanthropic activities and increase community involvement.
The faces flash by on the computer screen. The women on the screen are differents shapes, sizes, ages, and colors. However, there is one thing that all the women have in common: they have all been sexually assaulted on a college campus. More than one in five women were sexually assaulted on college campuses (Mott, Par. 1). It has been proven that programs in schools can help prevent these statistics from growing. However, more needs to be done to prevent sexual assault on educational facilities because the current programs are not fulfilling their purpose.

A. Background Information: The next four years of the students’ lives after high school mark the moment they become independent. Because of the freedom, college students are more susceptible to careless actions like drinking, doing drugs, and even committing sexualt assualt. In 2015, Brock Turner, a student from Stanford, sexually assaulted a young woman on campus. Turner claimed that because he was drinking, was with friends, and saw a “promiscuous” female student, that pressured him into committing such a heinous crime. This was because Stanford University didn’t teach its students sexual assault prevention which caused the victim to be harm and violated. Caroline Heldman’s lecture, Confronting Campus Sexual Violence, really opened my eyes. The shocking statistic that one in five college women face assault/rape was a lot to take in. As she stated, college for us women is a risk factor, we face a higher risk that our non-college peers, and that frighten me. After sitting and lecture and taking in all of the statistics, I reflected upon on myself, and everyone I know on this campus, and I could not leave behind the idea that perhaps one of them have gone through that. Nonetheless, as captured in Sexual Assault on Campus: A Multilevel, Integrative Approach to Party Rape by Elizabeth A. Armstrong, Laura Hamilton and Brian Sweeney focus on the high rates of sexual assault on college campuses. Based on their study, they show that sexual assault is a predictable outcome. They focus on the gendered process such as fraternity control every aspect of their parties, in terms of themes, admission, access to alcohol and even the movement of guests (617). There have been reports of increased violence on U.S. college campuses since the early 1980s. Alcohol-related problems have included vandalism, fighting, injuries, and rape. However, as in the past, crime on campuses frequently was not reported to authorities or not divulged by institutions. Therefore, it is difficult to know if there has been an increase in incidences or just increased reporting.
