My coat of arms is about me, who I am, what I love and who I want to be. In it I have four sections that have an apple and a pencil, 5 arrows and family in chinese, a Georgia peach with the Georgia outline, and in the last section I have music notes. Each section means something or tells something about me. Each section is also colored with a certain color showing what each section represents to me. My first section has a gold background with an apple and a pencil that have ABC and 123 on each side of the apple. The apple means that in my future I want to become a teacher in Early Childhood. I did the background in gold because gold means generosity and teachers are generous, kind and giving. For my second section I did 5 arrows and a symbol in chinese that stands for family. The 5 arrows stand for my family because I have 5 people in my family which includes my mom, dad, little brother, sister and I. For this section I colored the background blue, blue means loyalty. My family is and will always be loyal to me, they will always have my back and support me in everything and anything I do. …show more content…
I find Georgia really special to me and that’s why my background is purple. Purple means royalty, sovereignty which also means power and I find that Georgia is a very powerful state because of all the beautiful surroundings and activities it holds for people to do. Finally in my fourth section i have music notes with a silver background. My music notes are because I love music, I always have to listen to music in order to get something done or to even concentrate. Music brings a happy and relieved feeling when I’m under a lot of stress or when I’m simply not having a good day. The background was done in silver because its meaning is peace and music to me is
...ent ground. the background is bright red and has large graphic circles of yellows, pinks, and blues. They seem to mimic the idea of a musical notes. It is composed of flat figural forms cut from vibrant paper. This was not the only album cover that Romare Bearden ever created. He also did another album cover for Wynton Marsalis called J Mood.
In Hector Tobar’s The Tattooed Soldier, Antonio migrated from Guatemala saw Longoria in the L.A. who killed Elena and Carlitos, who are Antonio’s spouse and son. People lived in Los Angles were frustrated with the government and power system at the time. Consequently, Antonio got revenge against Longoria for Antonio’s family, others who were murdered by Longoria in Guatemala, and his justice. Justice is based on an absolute human right: the right to life, and whatever violates that right is unjust. If the power system is allowed to violate vulnerable people, the weak have a choice to use violence to attempt to reveal the responsibility of those who abused power. However, seeking violent revenge is also unjust because it violates the right to life. Nonviolent resistance can be further power to save the victims without contravening the right to life.
1. The façade of the Palace of the Legion of Honor is a great example of classical revival architecture. Architects from the Renaissance to the present have borrowed architectural elements from ancient Greece and Rome for church façades, banks, museums, and government buildings.
Colonel Mathew Moten once said, “Professions are not professions simply because they say they are. Their clients, society as a whole, have to accept their claims and trust the professions with jurisdiction over important areas of human endeavor”.
This central idea is portrayed through the use of symbolism, where gold and personal possessions are symbolic of your identity.
I love my family with all my heart, that’s what the hearts represent. My family is always there to support me when I need help and they are always there to pick me up when I’m down, and they always push me to do my best in everything I do. The next symbol are the music notes, I love music. Even though I don’t play any
“Soldier’s Home,” by Ernest Hemingway, is about a young man named Harold Kreb and his life after returning home from fighting in a war. Kreb enlisted in the Marines in 1917, and was gone for two years. Upon his return Kreb learns that the townspeople have already welcomed the returning soldiers and he is too late. After his return, Kreb feels disconnected from the people who made him think that he’s a hero, and that he fought in a war that was glamorous. Feeling isolated and angry, Kreb ends up fighting with his mother. Realizing that he can’t have a normal life in this town, Kreb leaves to seek a simple and uncomplicated life in Kansas City. The central idea of this story is that survival should not be dependant on someone compromising their
The first of four sections on my shield represents the values aspect of myself. I value my family more than anything in the world, and I chose to take mementos and pictures from years past to accurately portray this. I have a picture of my parents on their wedding day, I have a picture of
A person 's beginnings do not completely define a person, but it does serve as a permanent foundation from which their identity is built around. As children, we absorb every sight and experience like porous sponges. Family, religion, environment, culture -- all of these aspects slowly form the background of one 's identity. As an Asian American, this identity is very different from that of a native Chinese woman 's, for I have parts of both cultures within me. It is a unique identity which I believes acts as a double edged sword. Being born into two cultures is a wonderful in that one can be a part of two cultures, but it is also a very confusing to be "divided" between two very different cultures.
The first thing I drew was the one significant symbol from the book, and I chose the pear tree. I drew this with its roots to love because that was the tree really represents and what it is all about. I chose the pear tree because I felt it is the most prevalent throughout the story since the book is basically Janie’s quest for true love. The reason I chose the quote I did was because it is so universal that everyone can relate to it in one way or another. I colored questions blue because I feel like it is a color that implies thinking, and I colored answer red because red implies power and answers are a very powerful thing. The two elements of the setting I chose were Eatonville and the muck. I drew a scornful face over Eatonville because
A person can be physically identifiable based on the matter they are composed of but their Personal Identity is far more than that. Despite any changes such as mentality and physical change, referred to as qualitatively changes, a person remains who they are. The philosophical question is, What it is to have a personal Identity? There are different theories discussing what is necessary and sufficient to define an individual's personal identity. So is there any theory that has truly capture the essence of what it is like to have a personal identity?
When the word “family” is discussed, most people think of mothers, fathers, and other siblings. Some people think of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and even cousins and more on the pedigree tree. Without family in people's lives, they would not be the same people that they grew up to be today and in the future. When people hear the word family they think about, the ones who will help them in any way they can whether it’s money, support, advice, or anything to help them succeed in life. Family will forever be the backbone of support.
For example the word “nerds” can have both negative and positive connotations behind it. On one hand nerds can represent intellectuals. On the other hand it represents someone who isn’t popular in their social realm who may also get bullied. The colors of the map can also appeal to pathos. The color red can represent edginess and aggressive behavior which is used to label the “bad” kids.
In this discussion, I will be explaining how I define family. I will also include my immediate and extended family. I will also describe what family means to me, how mine differs from other families in my neighborhood, and also how they are similar. I will also describe my family’s ethnicity and how it may affect any of my family’s health. To me, a family is a group of people that are brought together by blood, adoption, or marriage.
Hi, my name is Rob Geis and I am currently in grade 12. I have been at County High School for a year now; I joined at the start of 11th grade, and have thoroughly enjoyed myself here. The school is great, the people are fantastic and the atmosphere is one that makes you actually want to go to school. Before I joined ASB I was studying at the Singapore American School for two years and prior to that I was at the International School of Kuala Lumpur for two years. I was born and raised here in Bombay city and grew up here.
