We all have symbols that mean a lot to us in life. I definitely have some symbols that mean a lot to me in my life. All these symbols have a meaning behind them. My symbols are a heart, music notes, a pair of open hands, a paw print, a soccer ball, and a paint brush. These are all symbols of who I love, family and dog for example. My passions, the soccer ball and paint brush for example. I love my family with all my heart, that’s what the hearts represent. My family is always there to support me when I need help and they are always there to pick me up when I’m down, and they always push me to do my best in everything I do. The next symbol are the music notes, I love music. Even though I don’t play any …show more content…
Soccer is my passion, I love soccer with all my heart. But, I remember when I used to suck at it. I remember the first time I went to go try out for a club team, I wanted to quit playing right after that practice. Everyone was so good at the sport and I didn’t have any experience. But, I kept trying and I got better and better. I finally went to a team that was more my level, and we’ve all grown up together as a very strong team. I’m glad I kept going with soccer, it’s such a fun sport to play. My biggest dream is to get looked at by a college and get a scholarship in soccer. But, for that to happen, I have to work really hard for my goal to play in college. My last symbol is a paint brush. I love to draw, even though I’m not the best at it I still practice to get better at it. I also love looking at art because it’s so beautiful. What I love about art is that it tells a story and you have to figure out what that story is. So, that’s the explanation of all the important symbols in my life. People I love like my family and my dog. And things I like to do like soccer, meet new people, and art. I still have a lot more symbols in my life but these are just a few that hold a place in my
All of these symbols show how love can occur in many people and in the most random of places. Lily often feels guilty for accidentally killing her mom when she was little, but with Lily and Rosaleen ran away to Tiburon to find a new loving family, the Boatwrights. Lily is able to forgive herself and start a new life that she is able to disregard her past. Lily has finally found a family that cares about her and won’t let anyone hurt her
Symbolism is used in many ways and writers use symbolism to “enhance their writing.” It can give their work “more richness and color and can make the meaning of the work deeper.” In literary work the actions of the characters, words, action, place, or event has a deeper meaning in the context of the whole story. The reader needs to look see the little things like a dove symbolizes peace, or like the red rose stands for romance. Mostly everything can have a symbolism meaning to it. For instance the flag symbolizes freedom and the stars represent the states. Even some signs are symbols like when a beaker has a skull with a bones placed like an ‘x’ behind it symbolizes that it’s toxic or bad. When people see the red light when driving that’s a symbol to stop, the yellow to slow down, and the green to go.
Thus , everybody has different opinions and each person has a unique way of symbolizing objects. Not everybody can see a symbol in everything , some have more value than others.
In “Everyday Use” Alice Walker used symbolism throughout the story. Symbolism is an object that has a special meaning for person. For example, Puerto Rican flag have one star and the star represent one colonies of United State. It also has three stripes. The stripes represent when you United State freedom us from Spain. The Egyptians use symbols to communicate by writing. Symbols are use in math equations, shape and sets of numbers. In the equation 1+2-4=-1, the symbols - is use for subtraction or to show a negative number, and the symbol + is use for addition.
I played soccer since I was seven, as of the last few years I played at a very high level. I have represented Ohio South two times at a regional showcase, I have been invited to participate in a camp in Manchester, England and attended the camp twice. Also last Season for the Newark High School soccer team I was named first team all league and third team all central district. Soccer was the first sport I truly loved to do, I wanted to be the best. I work hours upon hours to master whatever part of the game I wanted to improve on. Soccer has taught me to have a great work ethic, and that mentality came when I was cut from the state team the first time I tried out. It was the worst thing that has ever happened to me, I was destroyed, and I thought I was not good but I knew I could do better. The next year I worked, I got bigger, stronger, faster, my soccer I.Q. was higher;therefore, overall I was a much better player. The result of that work, was that I made the team, but not only, I made the starting line up. After that I knew I could accomplish anything I put my mind to.
What are symbols? My sociological analysis of symbols is that they are social objects used for communication to self or for communication to others and to self. They are intentionally and unintentionally used incomplete objects, which continuously communicate meanings whether those meanings are tangible or emotional. Self is an object of the actor’s internal actions such as self-communication, self-perception, and self-control. Through self we communicate our identity, and direct our actions in situations internally and outwardly. In other words, through social action we communicate verbally with the tools of words and non-verbally with the tools of symbols. It is society who deems definition or meaning to a symbol; therefore, it is through symbols that we are socialized.
From an early age I always knew I would be playing soccer my whole life. My dad showed me the ropes of how to play and got me interested right away. By the age of three I had started playing, and to this day I have not stopped. Soccer has been a huge part of my life and I don’t know where I would be today if I never played. I met some amazing people playing soccer including my coaches who encouraged me and told me never to give up as well as my teammates who became my friends and were always there for me.
Symbolism is a symbol of whatever the object or subject is about. Every little object can be used as a symbol of whatever. Like in math, for example shapes and numbers symbolize anything it can be. Also, the American flag, It has fifty stars, representing 50 states. Also, colors may be used as a symbol. Especially in the person, you can see their true color on how they are or act. Like red angry, blue sad, green happy, black dark, purple love, anything represents something. This is most likely your tone of mood. Also, signs outdoors have symbols. Like signs you see on the road, express way, ditches, restaurants, stores, etc. Most likely everywhere, you just got to pay more attention in what is outdoors and what’s around you.
While I have developed my soccer skills over the years, the relationships I have built with people are treasured more than my ability to play the game. Playing soccer has granted me the opportunity to be surrounded by an extensive family of people who truly love me. I am forever indebted to the sport for bringing me into love-filled relationships with players and coaches alike.
I love being a part of something bigger than myself, and my gifts and talents help me do this. As a frequent leader of group projects, I am constantly urging myself and my group to go above and beyond the requirements. These experiences as part of a group, often encountering failure, have taught me that I almost always have a positive outlook on life, and I will persevere and do everything with confidence. Everything bad that happens in life also has a good side; God always has a plan for us. I would love to develop my athletic talent and passion for soccer. I am on the club team FC Revolution in my hometown of Santa Cruz. Constant practices keep me in good physical and mental condition. Soccer has taught me that exercise is equally as important
What it is a symbol? A symbol is most understandably defined by The American Heritage New Dictionary of Cultural Literacy as “something that represents or suggests something else… often takes the form of words, visual images, or gestures that are used to convey ideas and beliefs”. This definition is pretty self explanatory, it not only emphasizes the functional purpose of a symbol, that of being solely representative of something else, but also suggests that a symbol is not complete in itself - it makes a comparison by pointing to something else. Symbols are metaphors; they help us to better understand those things that humans can quite put into words, in doing this they serve as life guides, as they help us to express and shape world views (Christ 139).
The symbols i've chosen for my mandala have a significant representation of my life and a lot of meaning to and about me. The symbols have a significant representation of my life because they are things that I love and make me who I am. The symbols I made for my mandala are, family, grades, sports, traveling and cars. Together these symbols make me who I am by showing what I love. My top 2 priority symbols are family and grades.
Symbols are very important in the story "Cat and Mouse" by Lisa Metzgar. Lisa tells the story of a woman dealing with issues from a small mouse in her house, to not wanting to be married. Animals are used throughout the story to symbolize underlying issues. The reason for the story being called what it is instead of just plain 'mouse' is because both the cat and the mouse represent Marcy at one point. The mouse is a symbol of her in that it is trying to escape the traps that are out for it. This is the same way that she is trying to avoid being tied down by the people in her life. The cat can also represent Marcy after it has taken the poison, symbolizing what will happen to her if she allows others to determine her happiness.
My coat of arms features many symbols that are either representative of my interests and hobbies, or are just things that I think are cool. The quadrants on the coat of arms all represent my interests. The top left features a cartoon face, and symbolizes my love of cartoons, anime, comics, and manga. Its main color is gold, which is a symbol of generosity and elevation of the mind. The top right features the PC that I built, as well as my monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
It is important to find a symbol in life, for it can dictate one's importance in a world full of hatred and
