However, some may object that gender pay discrimination does not exist and that it is morally justified. It appears that some studies show that the gap is closer than most belief. According to one article, “When the wage gap is analyzed by individual occupations, jobs, and employee characteristics, regional labor markets, job titles, job responsibility, and experience; then the wage gap shrinks even more” (Furchtgott-Roth, 2010, p. 3). Again, suggesting that women fall behind slightly or slowly closing the gap. Another source states “the difference between men and women’s pay is not a result of labor market discrimination but of the choices that men and women make before they enter the labor market, or even when they’re in the labor market” (Learn Liberty, 2011, p. 2). Some apprehensions don’t take into consideration how men lead in the labor force since they were first in providing for the family from early years. Thus, by default men already have an advantage and continue to remain ahead in the workforce. In addition, women who work hard are eager to earn a degree or obtain equivalent training. According to one article, “Women in management have been attaining increasingly similar levels of education and work characteristics as men, but significant differences still remain” (U.S. Department of Labor, 2009, p. 12). Nonetheless, apparently proving women still face gender pay discrimination even with equivalent education or adequate training. For this case, the opposition is untrue since gender discrimination existed. Ledbetter dealt with wrongful treatment. Therefore, she should have been paid fairly for the same job since she had the credentials equal to her male
