Paul Reveres Ride by David Hackett Fischer gives the interesting story behind who Paul Revere was and his famous ride. Fischer reveals the incorrect stories and shares who Paul Revere really was. This book also mentions a man named Thomas Gage. Thomas Gage who was a general, also played a role in Revere’s ride and also during that time period. There can be an assertion made that these two men, although different, both played major roles for their respected sides and in American history. When asked who Paul Revere was, most people would say "The guy who rode a horse and yelled the British are coming!" or some answer of that nature. Fischer said it best, “In our mind's eye we tend to see Paul revere at a distance, mounted on horseback, galloping
...n Thomas Preston has portrayed the correct story. The reason for my decision is because unlike Paul Revere Captain Thomas Preston portrays a very detailed story on the events that occurred that day. He also admits to being at fault for some of the retched things that have occurred that day. While on the other hand Paul Revere was very one sided and only tried to portray the troops as bad men. Captain Thomas Preston even though only captain for the day, he made a difference in history.
Paul Revere’s Ride has many sections which decodes Reveres life. Paul Revere’s midnight ride has a huge event in America’s history but was overlooked by many. David Hackett wrote this book telling all what happened before, during, and after his journey which led to the American Revolution. This showed the courageousness of Revere throughout his lifetime from his childhood to his battles. Hackett also unravels the story of Thomas Gage. Paul Revere's Ride is a collection of historical accounts centering around Paul Revere's midnight ride to warn the countryside of the battles that occurred. The novel is made up of narrative accounts that tell the whole story of the midnight ride. David Hackett Fischer goes to great lengths to cover every possible angle in telling the story. "Fischer illuminates the figure of Paul Revere, a man far more complex than a simple artisan and messenger"(3). By adding different perspectives he allows the reader to see not only the American idealistic point of view, but we get a chance to hear British accounts of these particular events. In this way Hackett Fischer paints an accurate and unbiased picture not only of Paul Revere and his ride, but also of many other supporting historical figures that were important in making these events happen.
PLACE: Where was the photograph taken ( city, state, Battlefield, house, ECT)? What was the significance of this location or place at the time the picture was taken?
Roaring Lambs by Bob Briner is a great book about how a Christian should approach, consume, and get involved in media as a whole. Briner states that we should be roaring lambs, meek, inferior, and not seen as a threat. However, we can be roaring lambs by virtually shouting our messages through modern media.
The importance of the Revolutionary War is often underrated compared to other wars America has fought in. The truth is, without the bravery of certain men, like Francis Marion, America could still be under control of the British. Frances Marion was a humble and wise Captain, stating “Promises you make to yourself are often like the Japanese
He became famous following the decisive Battle of Saratoga in New York, where he was able to take take the British General Burgoyne and the whole of his forces prisoner. As Burgoyne and the rest of the British forces were then escorted to their camp, Warren notes that “they were everywhere treated with such humanity, and even delicacy, that themselves acknowledged, the civil deportment of the inhabitants of the country, was without a parallel that they thought it remarkable, that not an insult was offered.” (Warren, 2009, p.
Sir Francis Drake was an English sailor who has been remembered for many of his greatest achievements that still influence the world to this day. One of his greatest achievements was to be the first Englishman to circumnavigate the world. He was considered a pirate by many, especially the opposing Spanish, but he did greater things than an average pirate could do. He was Captain and admiral of many ships and commanded multiple expeditions all around the world, with many taking place in the Caribbean. Francis Drake knew the waters of the world like the back of his hand, and would have helped lead our other pirates to being an unstoppable force on the sea.

This perception was due, in large part, to his character, his presence, and his unwavering perseverance despite the many hardships he faced. He continuously led from the front, always charging into battle with his men, determined to lead and motivate them to victory over the British forces. He showed his commitment to his men and the cause, as he remained with his troops during the Revolutionary War in difficult environments and suffered alongside them when supplies were low, especially at Valley Forge. (Bernstein, 2015) Despite losing several early battles to the British at Washington Heights and Brandywine, he persevered in the face of adversity, keeping his army together and cohesive. (McCollough, 2005). He sought to develop his troops by implementing safe hygiene practices, establishing a chain of command, and by training them for combat. He demonstrated his character and personal courage by staying poised and resilient in the face of many criticisms and an attempt to remove him from his position of General. He displayed the attributes of character, intellect and presence through his patience, determination, and sense of

I’ve noticed quite a bit about one of the author’s writing styles because I have read his other series, Maximum Ride. However, I have not read any of the other author’s books. I’ve noticed that James Patterson uses a short chapter technique that makes readers go through the pages faster, and I’ve been up late before constantly telling myself that I would only read one more. Another noticeable thing is how he always tries to discreetly, but also not so, send a message to the readers. In Maximum Ride, he warned about climate change, in another stand-alone he spoke about suicide, and here he tells them to speak out against injustice, all of which are great things. I’ve also caught on to the fact that there are no lengthy introductions, the
An organization aim is to make a profit and have a sustainable competitive advantage, as such Soca- Hype accomplished this with the Rollie Pollie Rider (RR).
