The Infamous Pablo Escobar Sins of my Father is a documentary film of the infamous cocaine drug lord Pablo Escobar. This documentary is told by one of Escobar’s sons, Juan Pablo Escobar, who changed his name to Sebastian Marroquin. Pablo Escobar was a man born and raised in Antioquia, Colombia. His son stated that his father was good at cheating, because when they played monopoly he would always find a way to cheat. Escobar was first known as a savior man, but later became one of the most wanted men by the police. Escobar always managed to manipulate the government and things to work his way using power, violence, and greed. Escobar lost a great sum of money because everything got burned. The 19th of April 1985, Escobar planted a bomb car in front of the building of the Supreme Court and killed Supreme Justices in Medellin. Pablo Escobar would send orders to kill anybody who talked bad about him and gave him bad fame. In the list of Pablo’s targets were citizens, journalists, policemen, magistrates, and even other criminals form cartels. The perspective of individualism as opposed to community or group is that if one person was to talk bad about Pablo they would get targeted, but when a group of people would do an activist action against the violence they wouldn’t get affected as …show more content…

This connects to the issue of community policing and the representation of minorities in the police workforce. Community policing is trying to be increased for the people to feel more safe and secure. This leads to having more minority police officers because as stated in the presentations today Chicago is made up of 68% minorities, but 51% in the police force are whites. Minorities feel scared when approached by a white police officer and this is an issue people are trying to diminish. This is shown in the film when Escobar family is traveling and they get stopped because they assume Escobar is with them since they are related. The police officers ask right away where they are headed, and the tension is felt between the police officers and Escobar’s family. This tension can be reduced by increasing the amount of police officers that look like you, which can make you feel more comfortable dealing with
