I achieved a Lower Second Class honours, however, as a mature student, I subsidised my studies through part-time employment in legal administration role and hospitality, at times working up to 32 hours per week eve during the term-time. Whilst my employment had admittedly adverse effect on my overall studying performance, handling studies at a prestigious university while simultaneously working in a professional capacity required strong organisational and time management skills and considerable flexibility. Presenting a case study where HCA disclosing an employee’s confidential information, a nurse recently had to increase the work hours due to financial situation. The nurse was a bit apprehensive with the increase due to it would be stressful on top of the other responsibilities. Due to the stress, the nurse ended up using form of narcotics to help deal with stress level and anxiety, which seemed to have helped with providing care for patients. As time continued on, the nurse began to care for patients and signed out medication for them even though the patient was not prescribed the medication. The nurse was later discovered when working on the surgical unit as the pharmacist notice unfamiliar rise in medications along with signature errors. The incident was reported to the HCA for further reviewing. After analyzing the situation, actions taken were to have a leave of absences as well present this to a board of personnel. This then causes some form of breach of confidentiality for the nurse with HCA. In today’s society with the blogs, the gossip sites and the other forms of social media, confidentiality is a thing of the past. However, for, physicians and other health professionals, they are held to a higher standard to maintain a level of ethics and confidentiality for their patients. Confidentiality is a major duty for a health professional, but is there ever a time to where it is okay to tell what a patient says in confident? In my first lecture for this module, Laura Hooke spoke about the most prestigious and most successful law firms in the City according to gross fees, including Clifford Chance, Jones Day and Freshfields. This part of Laura Hookes talk influenced me to aim high, particularly with regards to large City law firms like those mentioned. During my time at Fragomen's, the legal assistant I worked alongside, gave me contacts for barristers and solicitors and taught me that experience is key; not only for your employers to see how you handle work in this industry but also for your own benefit to decide which sector best suits you. This influenced me to apply for various law firms in order to decide on my chosen sector to strengthen my skills and experience and educated me on the importance of the direction of employment you take.

Studying a degree in Law will help give me greater insight to this field of interest. Recognising how much the laws of society are constantly changing sparks particular interests in me because the English legal system is constantly evolving: This gives me a sense of strong inspiration to contribute to this modern society in the Law field. At a very young age, my outgoing personality and confident nature has made the subject of Law a suitable and huge interest.
