"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." Proverbs 3:5-6. I was born into a Christian faith based family and it is through my faith that I have overcome the various obstacles thrown at me. I am currently going through one of the greatest obstacles in my life; living on the edge of the seat-being poor. The stress of my parents and our living condition and being a victim of bullying at a young age have all molded me in a way that's conquered this obstacle. It's a constant hardship that I encounter on a daily basis and I triumph over it every day through my education.
I was in fourth grade when my dad had lost his job. He was the only one who

Once my dad lost his job, money quickly became scarce causing me to wear clothes from years past and ratty old shoes from 3rd grade. I could never fit in with the girls at my school as they looked down at me in pity and disgust. I was always the weird girl who sat alone at lunch, the one that kids would talk about on the way to art class. When middle school began, I noticed everyone had phones except me, but that wasn't what bothered me, it was the fact that as the years began, my parents couldn't afford yearbooks, shoes, or book bags. I isolated myself during my middle school years, fearing someone would discover that I was poor and depended on the government to live. I will always remember this one moment in middle school, in which one of the most popular girl's was going to hold a pool party and almost half the school was invited. I can still see and hear the smirk from the girl as she walked away from me and said "Oh honey, I don't even think you would have the money for the gas to even come to the party". Though it took time, I turned to God and sought help. It made me realize that peoples words belong to them and that you decide whether or not their words hurt
My life is governed by the beliefs of the Christian faith. The teaching of Christianity is the driving force that gives me confidence, hope and self-acceptance through God’s unconditional love. God’s love enables me in faith
I have faced many obstacles along the way. I did not do so good my freshman year in college. My grades were not what I wanted them to be. However, I retook some classes to raise my grades and I am trying hard to be the best student as possible.
I don't have many big struggles in my life, but everyone has struggles every now and then. I do, however have to deal with the fact that two of my close relatives, my aunt and grandpa, are gone. Sometimes it can make me upset, but I just think about how I'm letting it affect me and what they would want me to do. I sometimes also run into challenges related to my education and volleyball. Sometimes I fail at my work but I make sure I keep my grades up and that I practice at volleyball so I can be on the team next year.
I had to learn to adjust life without my sibling because my mom did not have enough money for them to be with us and adapt to a new culture. During this my mother and I ended up homeless during the winter months, this was the most brutal and embarrassing time of our life. In my teenage life I have overcome many obstacles; Even though we were living in poverty my mother had high expectation for her children and graduating from high school was just the beginning unfortunately I stumble again, I failed my Math Regent and did not graduate but I was determined not to be discouraged .
In life, people will always have something to say about you in everything one does in life, either negative or positive, but it’s the moment when you let what is said upon you affect the way you live your life, that when its becomes a problem. I for myself have been victim of so many people saying things about me and letting get into my head, but I had the courage to overcome a lot of obstacles like that. I have struggled with a lot of obstacles in my life some got the better of me while I have been able to overcome most of them. I am writing this essay to give an example of an obstacle which I struggled with for a very long time and I nearly took the best of me, but with time I was able to overcome it.
In life we all face obstacles. The troubles that we face don’t define us, how we overcome the situation is what makes us the people we are today. Throughout my life I have faced many trials and tribulations that I had to overcome with the help of my mother, ofcourse. I was smooth sailing in life until I started high school.
Overcoming Obstacles Throughout a persons life, they are faced with different obstacles, and different challenges of all different types. My life in particular has been full of ups and downs, especially towards my soccer career. In the novel The Pact, three boys, George, Rameck, and Sam, are faced with many obstacles throughout their lives, where they must learn to overcome and achieve great success on their own will power. Essentially, I did the same thing. My soccer career has been one of my most difficult life challenges, creating the person I am today.
Have you ever wondered if there could possibly be overwhelming obstacles in the way of someone being truly successful in life? Some may witness friends or loved ones not developing to their fullest potential in their profession because of these unobtainable obstacles holding them back. In “Professions for Women,” by Virginia Woolf, Woolf gives a speech to a group of women explaining why they must overcome certain things in order to be successful in their future professional careers. In speaking to this group of determined young women, Woolf explains how horrendous it may be to have your own thoughts or beliefs while living in a society said to be dominated by males. She
Life is a balance. With benefits comes obstacles, with every positive moment comes negative times, and with every victory comes a defeat. It is in these times of struggle that we find the greatest lessons, and it is when we face difficulties that make us weak that we show how strong we all are. Do we choose to let the circumstances control us and keep us down, or do we grow and mature into smarter, stronger, and better people? Do we accept the defeat as, "just the way it is", or do we learn from it and use it to our advantage?
Growing up, I always felt out of place. When everyone else was running around in the hot, sun, thinking of nothing, but the logistics of the game they were playing. I would be sat on the curb, wondering what it was that made them so much different from me. To me, it was if they all knew something that I didn’t know, like they were all apart of some inside joke that I just didn’t get. I would sit, each day when my mind wasn’t being filled with the incessant chatter of my teachers mindlessly sharing what they were told to, in the hot, humid air of the late spring and wonder what I was doing wrong. See, my discontent
For some people overcoming a challenge or obstacle that they face may not seem like a tough task to do but for some people it can be complicated or possibly one of the toughest things that they have ever had to do. For me my obstacle was my terrifyingly bad grades for my sophomore year of high school, eventually realizing how life changing grades actually are at this point in my life, it was time to make a change. Originally when I first moved to California in 7th grade I didn't get all my classes that I previously had from my old school since the way school worked there was different compared to California, due to this I lost any motivation to actually do anything in school and completely disregarded any work and sometimes tests that I had
Yes, I believe that any obstacle that is thrown at you can be turned into something positive, it just depends on the perspective that you look at it from. This is important to take into account because many people take their own lives because of this problem. They are unable to make out the positive in their lives and only see the negative. All you need is the ability to look at situations from a different perspective, and determination. However most of us do not see the positive because we want others to feel bad for us.
“To be a champion, I think you have to see the big picture. It's not about winning and losing; it's about every day hard work and about thriving on a challenge. It's about embracing the pain that you'll experience at the end of a race and not being afraid. I think people think too hard and get afraid of a certain challenge”. says Olympic swimmer Summer Sanders.
“I believe that difficulties are more important to human mind than what we call assistances. When we work we all must, if we mean to bring out and perfect our nature” said by William Channing. As he explains that difficulties are more needed in human life than assistance and no work can be completed without facing obstacles. Obstacles is a major event in life that shapes you. Overcoming difficulties is necessary because it can stop you from achieving a goal, dream and self confident, the reward in overcoming obstacle is whether real or perceived is always greater than giving up and sports is a metaphor for overcoming obstacles and achieving against others.
