Before I start writing my story I should explain the rules of a Ouija board. For those who don’t know what an Ouija board is it is something you can use to contact the dead. I have done lots of research on this topic and by research I mean watching people mess around with one…. Something you should never do. The rules are to 1. NEVER take your hands off of the Ouija Board. 2. NEVER play the Ouija board ALONE. 3. NEVER play in a graveyard or where anyone has been murdered. 4.IF it goes across the numbers and letters back and forth the demon has officially left the board, NEVER let that happen!!! If that happens it will hang around where you and the Ouija board are located..5.ALWAYS SAY GOODBYE!!! The most important rule is number 5. Those are …show more content…
Lets just say that they were very very mad. As they walked deeper into the Asylum the spirits of the patients got angrier and angrier. They eventually found a good spot to start the game. Alexis got the camera ready. They set the board up with the Planchette facing where it said Ouija. They start the Video, “Hey guys Alexis here and today I am joined by Kara, Alice, and Mckenzie, Today we are doing the Ouija board challenge. The worst part is that we are doing it in the old and abandoned insane asylum, Let’s just get started,” Mckenzie states. They set their fingers on the Planchette and moved it in a circular motion saying these words in unison with Alexis recording the whole thing.. “Spirits, We wish to speak with you, we welcome you with open arms and wish for you to speak with us.” They move the planchette into the center of the board and Alice asks “Are there any spirits here with us?” and the planchette moves to the Yes. Mckenzie then asks “How many spirits are there?” The planchette went to the M. “M,” Kara states. Then to the A. “A,” Mckenzie says. It moves to the N. “N,” Alice states. Finally it moved to the Y. “Y,” Alexis said. “M A N Y Many spirits, probably too many to count,” Kara says. “Did some of you live here?” Alice asks the spirits. The planchette moved to Yes. “Do you know us?” Alexis asks while still holding the camera. It moved to No. “What is one of your names?” Alice asks. The letters spelt out James. “Hello James,” Kara said to the spirits she could feel around her, Not knowing which spirit was James. The planchette suddenly got much more force added onto it, and all it spelt out was ZoZo. Everyone playing the game suddenly got worried. Alexis who was filming the whole thing was worried as well. Alexis was
She figures out that Abigail had a jealously for her younger sister, Sally Shine. The audience figures out that Abigail was the one who casted the spell on the elevator the whole time, not Sally’s nanny. Jill soon reports this to Steven and along with Anna, they work together with an electrician who was the grandson of one of the trapped souls in the elevator to solve the mystery. Although, it seemed shocking at first time, once I learned this, the rest of the movie became very predictable, which is very common for most Disney movies. However, at the same time, the story became very complex and complicated; they started adding unnecessary information and I had more questions at the end of the movie than I did at the beginning of the movie; how Abigail got the spell, where did five souls go after, was everyone at the original party in 1939 waiting for them and why didn’t they just use the service elevator. The conflict of the story was that the five souls from the elevator in 1939 were trapped in limbo and were stuck there for 60 years. Can you guess what the resolution to the conflict was? It was love; Sally told Abigail that the party originally for Abigail’s birthday. They soon expressed their sisterly love for each and Sally exchanged her bracelet to Abigail and soon after that, the five souls were finally freed from limbo. Also, Abigail turns young again
The particular story I collected takes place in Philadelphia, where ghost stories are plentiful. Philadelphia is an old city with a rich cultural heritage, and our founding fathers made history in the place that was once our nation’s capital (Eidmann). Many believe that their spirits and spirits of those from colonial times still lurk around. It is easy to feel like spirits are around when in a place where many people have lived and died before, and in a place that is filled with old buildings and landmarks. All of these factors make this city a perfect place for a ghost story.
To start off, first, the narrator thinks that the house her and her husband John are renting for the next three months is haunted or it wouldn’t be as cheap as it is for being such a beautiful place. Another thing is that she unhappy in her marriage. Her husband doesn’t listen to her, tells her she’s wrong and laughs at her. She is feeling very unwell and all he says is she has temporary nervous depression and only tells her to stay in bed and do nothing. The way she describes things is very bleak, dark, depressing. She keeps going back to thoughts of the house being haunted and gets anxious. She becomes angry with John for no reason sometimes and thinks it’s from her ‘nervous condition’. Something the reader may not catch onto when she talks about how she doesn’t like her bedroom is how she took the nursery, so right away, we know she has a baby. She feels trapped with the barred windows and not being able to go anywhere, having to just lay down and look at the most revolting yellow wallpaper shes ever seen. Writing the story alone makes her extremely exhausted and she says that John doesn’t know the extent of her suffering. Eventually, it’s made known that she can’t even go near her own child and it makes her increasingly nervous. She has unwanted thoughts throughout the entire story of the terrifying ugly yellow
...ng up the pebble road so they went outside to see who or what was coming to the plantation. When they went outside no one or thing was there one of the office workers there at the plantation said that they heard something so they went to see what it was and they saw a group of rocking chairs rocking all at the same time. Another one of the workers there said that she saw multiple things move across the desk tops. One of the couple tour guides there was giving a tour when suddenly a candle stick flew across the room. Another one of the staff workers there reported hearing someone crying inside of the mansion. A staff worker Mitchell borne was working alone one night inside of the mansion when he felt someone touching his arm. One of the tour guides was walking around when they did not have a tour and saw a figure sitting upright in one of the beds. ("Ghosts tales”).
Often, the story of “Bloody Mary” is the first story of supernatural form that is told to many individuals as young children. When I was in 3rd grade, a group of friends and I got together to have a sleepover; naturally, we all went to my friend’s basement and started telling scary stories. One of my friends told me that if I went into the bathroom without any lights and said “Bloody Mary” three times in front of a mirror, a bloody figure would appear.
people improvise a ouija board as a game, it is always best to protect yourself.
I heard a blood-curdling scream and I jumped. I felt silent tears running down my heavily scarred face, but they weren’t out of sadness. Mostly. They were a mixture of pain and fear. I ran into the eerie, blood-splattered room and screamed as I felt cold fingers grab my neck. Before that night, I didn’t believe in the paranormal. Now I sure as heck do. I had been chased out of my house after a fight with my step-parents because I wasn’t doing well in school (I had dyslexia), and I had taken shelter in what seemed like a normal house. I realized what I had gotten into after the sun set. The doors locked without a sign of anyone going near them. A cold draft filled the room I was in. The house turned into a horrific scene, and I knew I would never get out alive. It was the Asylum. There’s a rumor in our town, a rumor that started when someone made the observation that everyone fit in. No one was considered strange, homeless, an outsider. That doesn’t seem possible, you think. In my town, there are tons of people with no homes, or people that don’t belong, you think. Well, think again. Those homeless people? Think about how many there are. They fit in with each other. Those people that don’t belong? Once again, they fit in with each other. But then, you
Elements of the supernatural have long enhanced the folklore of many cultures. Stories of ghosts, magic, and so-called aliens are transferred from generation to generation, sparking our imagination and uncovering our deepest fears. While some stories are clearly fabulous, others are believed by those who tell them. The story I wish to report is of the latter kind: an experience that generated real fear in the teller. Although the story is completely original, it contains ideas reflected in much other folklore, including similar tales from similar locations. And like all folklore, the effectiveness of the story depends upon the performance of the teller and those to follow.
Vodou is an actual religion and not something that should be demonized. The spelling of Vodou as Voodoo in itself is demonizing the actual religion with another belief by associating the system known as hoodoo, due to ignorance. It should actually be said and spelled Vodou (Voe-dou). Vodou has been a source of intrigue and fear for many since it’s first mentionings in the texts of 1800th century missionaries. For most people the first time hearing about the religion comes from hollywood movies. Unluckily these films portray the religion as a barbaric practice involved with witchcraft and devil worship. In reality Vodou is steeped in the history of the Caribbean and its origin country of Haiti. The religion tells the story of its home country,
In a dim, candlelit room, a group of curious teenage girls gather around a small wooden board, with their eyes wide open as a small, upside-down heart-shaped object slowly travels along the dark black printed letters. Their fingers lightly make contact with the object, yet it still moves as if another force is pushing it. With pounding hearts, the group watches messages sent across the board and a sense of mystery and amazement unfolds. They are bubbling with many questions. What’s making this mysterious board spell out words and phrases- the spirit world, or your subconscious mind? The ideomotor phenomenon holds well-developed history and studies, uses similar to the Ouija board, and many professional sources behind it. Overall, the quantity and quality of proof to support the science behind the boards is extremely sturdy and provides interesting theories, studies, and history.
Ghosts, as with any other misunderstood group or people, have been preyed upon by others without understanding. The lack of knowledge about ghosts and haunting activity has led people astray as to what they really are. What Hollywood and television portrays is very inaccurate and cannot be relied upon as truthful. They show these spirits of the dead as being evil in nature, filled with malice and harmful intent. But that this is not the case. The field of paranormal activity is amazing. It has caught the imagination of people from every walk of life. It has always interested me and has influenced me to pick this as the topic for my research. Through this research I wish to uncover the truth about the existence of ghosts. I also wish to correct the wrong notions that people have about ghosts and enlighten non-believers.
For many years, people have debated whether or not spirits are real. Some people get scared at the fact that there might be something unknown lurking in their house in the middle of the night making their footsteps known to everyone in it. Maybe that person feels watched upon or feel some kind of presence in their home, or even sees shadows moving their way through rooms. Different people around the world have their own opinions based on religion and experiences when talking about angels, demons, and the spirits that have life after death. New technology is getting closer to detecting these energies happening in the world today. The history of haunting dates back many years, and more people want to get involved because of the new technology.
Also, If you split up the monster or whatever is haunting you can easily pick each one of you off individually. You also want to stay together so that you can fight off the monster that is haunting you. A group of people should be able to kill a monster. Also If you stay together in a big group the monster will likely avoid you because it knows that you could kill it. Don’t stay out in the open.
Ghost stories are fantastical tales that deal with innocent people subjugated to scary or horrific situations. Sometimes they involve other humans, beasts, apparitions, or even just uncanny events. They have a common thread of dealing with an unknown situation that causes us anxiety. While we live in an age of instant communication, ghost stories are passed down by a more antiquated system, word of mouth. They generally have no way of proving their validity, and have no direct witnesses. I collected this, from an upperclassman at the university who grew up in rural area. Another female student, evidently his friend, sat next to him and was as much a part of the audience as myself. His story was a simple, yet very real, example of a localized word of mouth ghost story. Here is his story.
Of course I didn't ask my mom or dad. Nobody shall know. October 26 1998, haven’t recorded in a while. I've been paying attention to the thing in my house, but today changes everything I don’t think we have one I think we have many. Today I go in the basement to see what is down there. I open a door labeled, CONCEALMENT CHAMBER. I open it anyway I find bones and organs in jars. I almost threw up. I had to be stealthy leaving the basement, I was told not to be down there by my parents order. I went to check in the attic that had a built in step ladder. I went up there and there was dead animal carcases as my body stimulate my body. As I steadily leave the attic after almost throwing up in the attic which was a closer call than the basement. I go in my room to write it down and on my wall it says fury. I have no clue why this thing is angry. October 31, 1998 It's Halloween and I am not ready to have this ghost pop out of nowhere and kill me and put my organs in the basement. I take precautions. I don’t have the audacity to capture this ghost. So I just go out trick or treating. I don’t want to come back with the house in flames but I have to go trick or
