One of Barnstable's seven villages, Osterville is situated on Nantucket Sound and famous for its numerous oceanfront estates. (-- removed HTML --) The History of Osterville (-- removed HTML --) English colonists began arriving in the area as early as the 1640s, but most of their names have been lost to history. The earliest known resident of Osterville was a man named John Cammett. Although he first appears in the records around 1808, the house bearing his name was actually built in 1720. The Cammett House, complete with a 1700s herb garden, is one of several historical properties in …show more content…

Imagine not having the government on your side, not being able to fit in with the people around you. Imagine going through slavery. Not being able to go to the same school as the person who lived across the street from you. That would be horrible right? Imagine not having the same equity as someone who is no better than you in anyway. What if its only because of your race? What is you had a community where you finally feel safe and you have family and friends that live all around you, but still not in the best living environment. Then Imagine having that all taken away from you and not having anywhere to go and cannot say anything to stop it. The Government of Nova Scotia impacted residents of Africville in a negative way. The city placed a dump in their community and left them in an unhealthy living environment, forced many people to leave family and friends, and left everyone with only memories good and bad.
I drove through the red lights of the only "big" town around, Kingston. Kingston is known for their pool halls, food, and music. There was only 3 red lights in the whole town. I drove past the feed store and merged into the lane to turn to go towards, Plum Grove. It sounds like a fancy estate, but actually it is my hometown.
As the heart of central New York, Syracuse is full of history, tradition, and community. Established in 1848, the city of Syracuse was originally centered on the Eire Canal, which made it a central communication point and an appropriate place to build new community. The city was originally called Bogardus Corners, but as the city began to grow, the postman suggested the change of name to Syracuse. The city of Syracuse is currently the home of 163,860 people who enjoy the benefits of culture, entertainment and a strong sense of community.
About half-way between West Egg and New York the motor road hastily joins the railroad and runs beside it for a quarter of a mile, so as to shrink away from a certain desolate area of land. This is a valley of ashes---a fantastic farm where ashes grow like wheat into ridges and hills and grotesque gardens, where ashes take the forms of houses and chimneys and rising smoke and finally, with a transcendent effort, of men who move dimly and already crumbling through the powdery air. Occasionally a line of grey cars cr...

It is the 60’s in Jackson, Mississippi in this time era there is obvious signs of racism and segregation. Hilly Holbrook is a white privileged mother and wife of a wealthy Politian. Why is Hilly the president of the Junior League? She said that being president gives her a sense of control. Why does Hilly create the bathroom initiative, which would require all Mississippi families to have an outdoor bathroom for their black employees? Hilly said she truly thinks black people carry dieses that can harm white people. Which I believe is very absurd and ridiculous to even think that. I also wondered why Hilly was not following the Jim Crow Laws? She responded saying that she was trying her best to but “misunderstood”. Why does she tend to make

Did you know that comic books have been around for over a century! The first one ever made was written in Europe in 1837. His tale was just meant to make you laugh.
One of the things we have in common is that we only have a few grocery stores we have 3 pretty big ones but other cities and town have more as well in the book they only have 1 food store but in Payson, we have 3. What's also pretty neat is that everything in Payson is so close I mean you can pretty much walk to all the stores and shops because everything is close together. Another neat thing is that Payson is pretty safe when it come to criminal activity because everyone pretty much knows each other which I think is pretty cool. And as well in the book it talks how they usually walk instead of taking a car. Main buildings in the town, including the churches, the schools, the grocery store, and Mr. Morgan’s drugstore. As you

It is most commonly applied on top of an existing pavement to protect it from wearing of tire, to inhibit water penetrating through it, and to armature it from the sun. Chip sealing also entrust the roadway a macrotexture that rises skid counteraction of the stratum. The underlying pavement has to be in fair or good stipulation for the chip sealing to work effectively. Large rift or exorbitant hazard in the current pavement will minimize the service life of the chip seal. If present pavement is in bad condition with potholes, deep wheel path rutting or large cracks, it must be repaired before applying the chip seal. Chip sealing is merely a surface treatment and does not add to the structural efficiency of the
