The Warrior Diet may sound self-explanatory, however I would argue that not only is it more than a diet, but that it is a beneficial way of life. The Warrior diet began when a man in the Israeli Special Forces decided that the standard way of eating was not working for him, a modern day warrior (Hofmekler). The name of that man was Ori Hofmekler (Hofmekler). During his training in the Special Forces Ori realized that the standard three meals a day was not going to fit into his hectic schedule (Hofmekler). He began eating only at night before he went to sleep, since that was when he had the time to eat (Hofmekler). At first this routine was strange and seemed to have negative effects on his performance, however as he continued he saw that his energy and alertness had increased as well as he was sleeping soundly (Hofmekler). He was curious as to why this was helping his overall well-being and so he began to conduct research (Hofmekler). He found that he was not the first to come up with this idea and that past warriors have been following that very same lifestyle for ages (Hofmekler).
This is when Ori branded this way of life as “The Warrior Diet” (Hofmekler). Rather than a knockoff version of this warrior lifestyle, it was an update (Hofmekler). Ori added an ideology to the ancient way of living. The ideology that the warrior diet became had numerous presuppositions and the most interesting are the ones that I will cover in this paper. These presuppositions are that fitness is the key to wellbeing in any part of life (Hofmekler). This implies that regardless of the goal, fitness is the means to the end. The next presupposition is that preparing the body to handle excessive stress will help it function under “normal”...

In this paper, I will be comparing and contrasting The Paleo and The Bulletproof diet to the omnivore’s diet. The sources I am using are Dr. Perlmutter’s Bulletproof diet (Since this is the one that is currently most popular) a modified version of The Paleo diet, …s thing on Ted Talks and Michael Pollan’s book “The Omnivore's Dilemma: A Natural History of Four Meals” which explores the omnivore’s way of eating.

The Western Diet mainly consists of fried foods, refined grains, sugar, high carbohydrate and fats, and meats (3). It has been hypothesized that having a Western Diet increases one’s chances for developing depression. There has been a great deal of research into why the western diet increase’s one chance of having depression. A common sense reason maybe that the Western Diet consisted of large amounts carbohydrates, fats and sugars which promotes obesity and then causes depression (1). More scientific evidence suggest that having a improper diet like the Western Diet negatively affects peripheral and central dopamine, which are neurotransmitters (chemical which transmit signals across the synapse from the nerve cell to the target cell) directly linked to the mental health of the brain and are negatively affected by high fat diets (4). Research has also suggested that having a poor nutrition status such as lacking folate (a natural water form of vitamin bg which is crucial for many of the bodies processes) and key vitamins like vitamin b12 significantly increases the risk of depression in elderly people (5). Research into the topic of dietary habits and mental health is very crucial with the growing rates of obesity and depression in the United States compared to the rest of the world. Thus, does having poor dietary habits increase the likelihood of having depression? The likelihood of developing depression has been linked to the type of diet one consumes such as the Western Diet, Diets Low in Fat and Carbohydrates and weight control diets like binge eating.

Many people think of stress as a simple problem. In reality however, stress is complex and often misunderstood. We all know that stress is the body’s reaction to any demand on it. Perceptions of events, whether positive or negative, activate stress. It is, therefore, a highly individual affair. What is stressful to ‘X’ may not be so to another. But it is fairly easy to conclude that everyone lives under a certain amount of stress. In fact, the only people without stress are dead. At the same time it is certainly wrong to conclude that stress is always bad. Mild stress may improve the productivity. It may force people to focus more sharply on the problem and produce solutions. But if stress is severe and persist for long periods of time, it can be harmful. Stress can be disruptive to an individual as any
We, as a society could be healthier if we changed a few aspects of our lives. Looking back into Paleolithic times may help sharpen our awareness of what a healthy lifestyle means. Good food choices, functional exercise and a good sleep pattern are all required for long term survival. To early man it meant life or death. Today’s technology is vast and everyone has an opinion of what “healthy” means, but closely examining the lifestyle of those long ago may provide our society with the simple and effective guidelines to live as healthy as possible.

The topic of "Should people follow the Macrobiotic Diet? has been the most mentioned topic in history of diets around the global. Why should people follow it? As to that Macrobiotic Diet is not just a diet, it approaches you to live healthy and longer. In fact Macrobiotic Diet stresses the importance of a balanced diet, because one's diet is created for the foundation of a happy and harmonious life. Macrobiotic Diet combines tenets of Zen Buddhism with a western-style vegetarian diet where the word Macrobiotic comes from the Greek meaning "Long Life", "Great Life". In this essay we will discuss the key points that Kathleen M. Zelman proves in the text such as how Diets like the Macrobiotic diet are good to follow because they
