Optometrist Career Essay

Where I see myself in the next 10 years or so is working in something that has to do in the medical field or something similar. Ever since I was little and getting my eyes checked regularly, I became interested in the job of optometry. Although I haven't really gone into depth with this career, this research paper will give me the opportunity to not only help me but see what other things I need to prepare if I continue to go with optometry. An optometrist is a doctor for eyes basically, they help and manage with vision problems or even diseases. Examining eyes for anything out of the ordinary that could be serious or just for a prescription of glasses or medicine/drugs. Some tasks that an optometrist would have to do would be check patients eyes/eyesight for any abnormality, adjust glasses and any of that sort, develope and solve problems of the patient's vision, and being able to communicate with the patient and talk about anything being good or bad involving the eyes/vision health. Seeing how they work and execute everything, and especially the process, makes me interested and ask how they do it. Wanting to know the background, what they have to study and undergo to get to that certain point is also a reason as to why I picked it for this specific project. Usually when asked what I want to be in the future or what career would I pick, I just say optometry in general, but to be honest it’s more than just optometry, would I want to work with anybody who are adults, kids, or maybe even babies?
