The issue is if children of the age of 2 or older should get 2 or more hours of screen time is important because people think it could stunt the brain development of the child in question and limit their face to face interactions with people.
Because while others believe that the children could get less face to face interactions and physical interactions with their fellow classmates and teachers. Excess screen time is also associated with language delay, obesity, attention problems and sometimes aggression especially if the content they watch is violent!
Others believe that children of the age of 2 or older should get more on-screen time because it lets them learn in ways we couldn’t have even imagined. They also think that teachers should

I also think that it benefits teachers by giving them countless resources to choose from that could enhance the learning experience of the students. The technology could also help students learn where the future is headed with technology.
Experts who have studied this issue have discovered that teachers should be using technology in classes because it helps to connect with students no matter how they learn. Experts have also learned that if used correctly mobile devices with applications the school supports could prepare children for their future careers. Experts have also found out that the traditional way of learning is broken and with technology in the classroom the teacher become the encourager, adviser, and coach.
A prominent example of why I think children of the age of 2 and older should get more on-screen time is the article called “The Case for Preschoolers Having MORE Screen Time” written by Marty Nemko. In this article it states that of course children shouldn’t be spending all of their time in front of a screen but it may be helpful to increase the time they have by two or three times because even though they might seem to be entranced by the technology they have in front of them, they might be paying more attention to the toys they have right next to
Though there are some positive effects, the adverse impact of technology on education has been extraordinary. The technology community has worked hard to bring useful technology into our classrooms, all with good intentions to broaden our knowledge. With these good intentions also came about unwanted side effects such as distraction and disruption in the classroom. I can clearly remember many of my teachers yelling at us to put our cell phones, iPods, and iTouch phones away especially during lecture and exams. The yelling was not without just cause, students cheated with their devices along with updating their Facebook pages during class too.
Technology is very beneficial to children in school because it makes education more entertaining, allows kids to learn outside of school, and provides low-cost alternatives to poor families that are just as good as going to school.
Television, or screen time, has become a large part of today's society. Whether it's by way of smart-phones, a television, a computer, or a tablet, screen time has negative effects on the cognitive ability of children and adolescents. It has even been proven that it can lead to Alzheimer's disease when a person, in the age range of 20-60 years old, views an hour more than the recommended amount of screen time a day (Sigman 14). In children, the amount of screen time viewed has a relationship with the likelihood of developing a deficit in his attention span; the longer a child views screen time, the more likely he is to be diagnosed with an attention disorder. Screen time, or television, can cause attention disorders and other problem with cognitive abilities in children and adolescents that effect the education they can comprehend.
...g children and technology, it requires a delicate balance. American Academy of Pediatrics recommends no media for children under two years of age and no more than two hours a day of “high quality content” for children and teens. While there are parental controls that can be set and programs installed to monitor content and duration of use, a motivated child can find ways around them. In some cases, more drastic measures may be necessary including, but not limited to, removing devices, cancelling Internet services and disconnecting TV satellite connections. It is important to intervene early, as the challenges can grow because the reliance on technology can become habitual. The stakes are high and, while technology has made some things easier, parenting children so that they have an appropriate relationship with devices and the world around them is not one of them.
A parent’s duty when they have children is to give them the best life they can, and some of that has to do with how much they allow their kids to access through a screen. With the life they give them, they also give them a home with their own rules and structure. There are certain things parents can do to best prepare their children to be successful in the classroom. This can range from monitoring the kinds of shows they watch to how often they let them access any kind of screen. Some of the most important things that lead to success should be taught very early on so as to inspire life long patterns; parents should only expose their children to shows with educational content, allow them to watch in moderation, and encourage literacy with the correct shows and devices.
A 2010 Kaiser Foundation study showed that elementary aged children use on average 7.5 hours per day of entertainment technology (Rowan).Various studies have been conducted based on the controversial topic of the impact of technology on a child’s development. Many people believe that by handing their three year old an Ipad or Kindle it’s helping their brain development and enhancing their learning skills. There are some benefits but parents may be holding their children back from fully developing skills that are essential later in life. Parents should limit the use of technology by their children in order for that child’s creativity, deep thinking skills, and ability to focus to develop properly.
The amount of screen time in one's life should add up to an amount that suits their education, lifestyle, and way of seeing the world. Because people have been replacing their free time with screen time, it has been a subject of debate through each technological advance. The percent of kids to adults impacted by screens isn't a debate, but the fact of how much screen time kids are exposed to is, more importantly, screen time should not be limited to two hours day but supervised proficiently, because of the benefits it can create for young children, older children, and developing teenagers.
The first advantage would be teachers embracing tech in the classroom.Teachers embrace tech as a teaching tool in a way the students will understand.According to Eric board when students took an assignment of translating passages of Othello into other dialects, some students used the texting dialect,”resulting in some very interesting dialogue between lago and othello. The kind of technology teachers are embracing on are high tech calculators,Ipads, smartboards, and a variety of sites.Today’s high tech calculators don’t just calculate certain equations but also graph equations, how to find the greatest common factor, and even get a larger view or smaller view of the graph. The use of ipads in the classroom is useful for both the teacher and the student. For the students the ipad can give them some hints on the problem their solving and maybe even keep a record of their grades that certain student has so they can easily check up on them at any time. While for the teachers they can easily set up tests and quizzes and even grade assignments quickly and effecently.Although some teachers still use regular boards, most teachers use smart boards to teach. These boards are like ordinary boards except these are controlled by remote control pen.By just clicking on the board questions can be written...
Because of this, it is important to explore how this is going to influence their growth and development through their early years. Not only parents and caregivers, but society as a whole should understand the implications related to media and technology exposure to young children, as they are going to be active members in society in the future. There are obvious benefits of technology and media for adults, teenagers and older kids. Communication, convenience, learning and information sharing are just a few aspects of life that have been improved from advances in this field. But when looking at who predominantly takes advantage of these benefits, children in their early years often fall short (with the exception of health and medical advances).
Technology can impact anyone’s life at any moment and can have very negative effects on your health. There are many reasons why screen time is harmful. Many people believe that screen time is helpful towards children and have many positive outcomes. However, I believe screen time harms children in many ways because it can negatively affect a person’s health, children to have trouble reading emotions, and can impact human connection. While there are positive outcomes for screen time, there are also many negative effects.
To continue, everyone can agree that children need a healthy environment to develop cognitive, social, emotional, physical and linguistic development. How much technology can improve or distract from these essential skills varies with age. The impact and implications of technology tools on young children has been studied and researched through the Let’s Move Childcare initiative and results concluded that little to no “screen time” is preferred for children under the age of two. For children two years or older, the recommended “screen time” is limited to thirty minutes per week in the classroom setting. (White House, 2011.)
My 2nd point is that young children can learn how to count on websites, the websites can encourage the children to become math teachers or maybe even a financial career. My last point is that screens can help children learn how to share. You might be saying “how?”. Well there are multiplayer games which can encourage sharing behaviors.
Students will take advantage of the usage of technology so they can continue to learn at their own pace and make sure certain things are done correctly instead of half-fast and not done properly. Teachers will realize that students are appreciating the use of technology because it fits in with the learning style he or she may
Technology, either in form or gadgets in form of media or internet, if used properly can make big differences to make education learning far better than its current standards. Technology helps you in making things easier; everything is under your finger tips. It saves your time, you can more in less time, a finish a book you need hours or may be days, search the same thing on internet you fin results in just a fraction of second.
As a college student who would like to become a teacher, I believe that technology will help a child. All children learn differently, and technology is to help the children who have no other place to go. Some children are just unable to learn from a teacher, that is when technology plays a big role. Some children have to show themselves how to do things and technology will allow that.
