The Ohio Professional Licensure code of conduct is a list of eight principles laying out how educator should act on school property and within in the community. The reason is that as educator we are to sever as positive role models for the students that we teach and supervisor over. The State of Ohio has set up these principle to make sure that we as educator are providing the highest quality of education possible to ours student so that they can excel in education with the best educators Ohio has to offer. Therefore, these principles were set in place as rules and consequences on how educator should act and want their responsibility are as educations.
The first principle is on Professional Behavior, this principle is to remind an educator that they must at all-time remember that they are in the public view within the community and must contact themself in a profession matter. Part of this professionalism, is remembering that as educator you must always complete a background check in a timely manner doing so educator should not violate any laws. A suspension of an educator license would happen if and educator does not get their background check done. If an educator disregards this professionalism principle then the Ohio State Board of Education can and will suspension and educators license from anywhere to one day up to one year, as this would depend on what and how severity of the violations.
The second principle is on Professional Relationship with students, as educator we are always to professional at all times whether we are in or out of the classroom. In conclusion, if any of these eight principals are not adhered to then, the Ohio State Board of Education has the authority and the control to revoke a educator’s license. If a parent, student or anyone within the school system or community files a complaint with the Ohio Department of Education for breaking any of these Code of Conduct then the State board of education will have the to start an investigation into the matter. Also depending on what principles has been broken and by how many times then the State of Board has the right to take and revoke ones license on state and local levels ending an educator’s career.

This duty includes both reasonably protecting students from harm and, when a student is harmed, reporting it to the proper authorities (Gooden, Eckes, Mead, McNeal, & Torres, 2013, pp. 103-109). Bracigliano (2003) where many staff at a school failed in their duty to protect students and allowed abuse to continue for years.

Dr. Mork has worked as an administrator at Crescent School for the past four years. During that time there have been many instances that I have wondered why things happened the way they did. For instance, when Dr. Mork shared the requirements of the Washington State’s Teacher and Principal Evaluation Program (TPEP), a new evaluation program for teachers and principals, Dr. Mork presented general information about the program to the teaching staff. I was able to question his decision to present the information this way. I learned that Dr. Mork wanted to allow the teachers to have some freedom to complete the TPEP as they wanted to. The program was a new set-up and was open ended. Dr. Mork mentioned he did not want to stress his staff out by setting strict parameters on TPEP completion.
