THREATS: Political- A political threat to O Town is if something changes with the downtown Opelika shopping community. Since it’s a historic location, O Town must comply with regulations for the district. Threats to the area could impact O Town’s storefront location. Economical- An economical threat to O Town would be not having enough foot traffic in its Opelika storefront to make enough profit. Another threat would be other ice cream businesses opening around Auburn University that can affect the business of O Town and could cause Auburn students to stay close to campus for ice cream as opposed to driving to Opelika. Social- A social threat to O Town is that even though Auburn University, which provides a large percentage of the local …show more content…
Without a website, a customer could have trouble finding the store operation hours, flavors, company information or location if they did not have social media. O Town also is not able to share its background story with its audience, which is something that separates the company from other local ice cream shops. Also, since its flavors are constantly changing every week, not having a place where customers can go and look at the flavors of the day on the website could be a threat as well. Consumers may turn to ice cream shops in the area that do have a website for more information, which means less business and profit for O …show more content…
The company specifically wants to broaden its reach to college students in the Auburn community and brand awareness in the Auburn area. The students at Auburn University often overlook the shop due to proximity, lack of knowledge of O Town Ice Cream and competing ice cream shops. O Town wants to make initial contact with students by having a physical presence on campus. With various food trucks and eateries on campus, the company wants to know exactly what will make students come to its ice cream cart if O Town was to have a presence on campus. Beyond just increasing foot traffic and catering to college students, O Town wants to spread its message of telling a story through ice cream. The company wants customers to be aware of how its flavors are tied to the history of Opelika and the community. Mission Statement O Town Ice

One of the major problems with conventional ice cream shops is the poor transition of sales into the winter months. For years traditional shops have had to find other sources of income or have had to drastically change their targets as the seasons change. Hot Snowballs is an ice cream shop with an additional coffee shop included that will ease the struggle of growing a new business through the colder months. The International Dairy Foods Association has determined that after August the sales for ice cream decline dramatically, and then rise again beginning in March (International Dairy Food Association). I have always had dreams of running a small business and I also have a passion for coffee and ice cream. Growing up, my parents shared their
Ice cream in Russia is a very profitable business. Profit margins range between 15 and 20 %. This profit can be even greater when creating a premium product. Ice-Fili’s product value lies within raw material acquisition. Since the content of fat applied in the creation of ice cream is higher in Russian ice cream, the product is of better taste quality and unique flavor. With the Russian public placing more alarm on preservatives in edibles rather than fat content, this gives Ice-Fili an advantage over foreign competitors. In fact, Ice-Fili was the only ice cream producer awarded at the 2002 Moscow World Food exhibition for its brand Eralash. To market such prestige could help increase brand loyalty amongst customers. Ice-Fili also enjoys rather favorable brand recognition. The Lakomka brand is hailed as one of three most recognized ice cream brands in Russia....

Some examples of the internal weaknesses of Gator Town is that some merchandise and clothing can be too expensive for students who are unemployed or earn minimum wage. This can only leave those students to purchase only the snacks and drinks that are inexpensive. Additionally, not many people can go into Gator Town at the same time. That is because the size of the store is too small. This is another internal weakness because if over 10 students are in the store at the same time, it will get overcrowded. The top three external opportunities are the opportunity to incorporate a website for the store, advertise, and extend the variety of clothes by adding sweatshirts. Almost all businesses today such as Nike and Kohl's have a store website where customers can look to shop, find informations, and provides additional avenues for sales. Since Gator Town currently does not have a store website, it would be a big opportunity if the store incorporate one. This will allow students to find informations such as school hours and look at the merchandises online. Having an online website is very beneficial because the internet has become a key resource
