The Northern Cardinal is a perennial favorite in many of our backyards here in New Jersey. The vivid red color of the male Northern Cardinal is perhaps the most distinctive feature; especially during the winter months, as they perch themselves on ice covered branches following many winter storms. Unlike other birds, the Northern Cardinal does not migrate. They usually stay within a mile or two of where they were born. Both male and females sing all year round. Their melody is similar to a whistle. Lastly, the males will aggressively defend their nests from any unexpected intruders. The repeated crashing into large family room windows – it’s the northern cardinal responding to his own reflection. He’s trying to chase that invader away!
Origin - The Maine Coon is a natural breed, however currently the actual origin of the Main Coon is still underway. The "myth" of the Maine Coon coming about from the mating of raccoon and domestic cat is amongst the most popular. Although this is genetically and scientifically impossible to achieve, it first came about to be believed due to its unique brown raccoon-like markings and big bushy tail. "Maine Shags" were the name given to those that had markings any other color besides the brown coat. Theory of Maine Coons coming about from Viking's bringing these animals over into North America has been one of many popular theories. However, the most common theory is that of Marie Antoinette. Many believe when she tried to escape to North America, but did not succeed, she had left her long-haired cat on board, which then came to North America and bred
The population of the whooping cranes most definitely gets affected from precipitation, because the population gets affected negatively with high precipitation levels present, while positively with low precipitation levels. The population of the whooping cranes gets affected this way because if there were high precipitation levels for a year, the hatching success rate drastically decreases from the precipitation, who damages the eggs laid by the cranes. By either breaking the eggs, making the cranes not be present to incubate their eggs, or actually destroying the birds’ nests. Also, the high precipitation levels may even cause a few fatalities, which is a very serious problem involving this particular endangered species. While with low precipitation

The Nene Goose is a small grey brown goose with a patterned black, white, and grey body (Rojek, A. 1996). It is a close relative to the Canada Goose but easily distinguishable because of its black face and cream cheeks. The name nene comes from it’s distinctively soft call unlike the Canada goose. The Nene goose is the Hawaiian state bird and it also happens to be severely isolated in the Hawaiian Islands. They are about 41cm with the female being a little larger than the male (U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. 2004). Some are born without the flight capability because they dwell mostly on land which is believed to be an adaptive
During the Summertime it is extremely hot and there were a lot of birds flying around. As the season of Autumn begins, the leaves change colors and began to drop to the ground. When the leaves begin to whither away the bird population soon become depleted. As the chill of Autumn starts to take its toll the bird population becomes fewer and fewer. That was the past. In the present time as the weather begins to turn cold, the birds that would usually migrate are still there. This is a new occurrence that is happening across the country. The global temperature has risen, which make the birds able to withstand what used to be a brutal winter, now is mild manner.

Who would you be if you were a character in Pilgrim’s Progress? Would you help Christian, or would you try and stop Christian from reaching the Celestial City? I believe that I would be known as Brianus. I would help Christian along his long, tiresome journey. For Brianus would help through honesty, would help focus on the goal, and would help Christian focus on the Biblical facts.
