One assessment tool that I think every non-profit organization should have is the Assessing and building your organization capacity tool. This helps an organization better understand its policies, along with its managerial, financial, and administrative systems. This assessment shows an organization how to examine its assets such as funding reputation and skills which would allow the organization to effectively carry out their programs to better serve their communities(Foundation Center, 2017). The second assessment tool I would implement in my non-profit would be Core capacity assessment tool (CAAT). This allows organizations to analyze its organizational strength. " It looks at four core capacities: 1) adaptive capacity: the ability of
a nonprofit to monitor, assess, and respond to and create internal and external changes; 2) leadership capacity: the ability of all organizational leaders to create and sustain the vision, inspire, model, prioritize, make decisions, provide direction and innovate; 3) management capacity: the ability of a nonprofit organization to ensure the effective and efficient use of organizational resources; and 4) technical capacity: the ability of a nonprofit to implement key organizational and programmatic functions"(Foundations Center, 2017). This tool does basic organization assessing such as setting goals, determining goals, funding strategies, financial and legal oversight and evaluation. This tool would be a great benefit to any organization that is just starting. I would use both of these tools to help my organization to expand and it would help me to understand my organization's strengths and weaknesses. they would also better prepare me to help me to connect and better understand my community

There are a variety of ways counselors can use assessment in counseling. According to Whiston counselors use (2017) assessments as a tool used to measure people behavior. Assessments can be informal and formal (Laureate, 2013). One significant part of assessments is to evaluate progress between the client and counselor.
In order for a health care organization to maintain optimal function, the promotion of change is continuously necessary. Within the health care delivery system, there are a number of different techniques that nurses can use to determine where changes need to be made. One technique is called a SWOT analysis, which involves an evaluation of an organization’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (Harrison, 2010).
The current health care system can be difficult to navigate and often medical centers need management tools to help them develop strategic plans within their organizations. The SWOT-Analysis is one strategic tool that health care centers can use to formulate a roadmap for their organizations. The SWOT-Analysis examines internal capabilities (strengths and weaknesses) and external developments (opportunities and threats) when determining a strategic plan for an organization (Van Wijngaarden, Scholten, & Van Wijk, 2012). Van Wijngaarden et al. (2012) explains for SWOT-Analysis to prove meaningful throughout an organization, it is important for stakeholders to be part of the brainstorming to identify its’ internal capabilities and external developments. However, there are a few drawbacks to the using the SWOT-analysis tool that are important for health care centers to remain cognizant of when developing their strategic blueprints. Helms and Nixon (2010) state the SWOT-Analysis can be vague and too simplistic when developing a strategic course for an organization; it can be difficult to classify variables into the four SWOT quadrants; and no definite strategic path is identified after the SWOT-analysis is completed. Timmreck (2003) states that needs assessments are also used to “Survey, assess, evaluate and do research on what services or program exist and which services are missing” (p. 90). After the information becomes available to the administrator s/he can design the project effectively because now h/she know what service is needed and what resources are available to utilize. This information that the needs assessment provides is imperative to a project’s success and therefore makes the needs assessment an integral part of the planning process.

In practice, there are other assessment tools such as….which I could have used but the CPA is a recommended National Standard Framework for Mental Health, introduced in 1991, to supply a framework for effective mental health care (DOH 1999; DOH 2008) and to safeguard all service users (SU) by appropriate assessment and review (Gamble, 2005). But it is time consuming, in practice and paperwork. Service users’ participation has been repeatedly disappointing; studies constantly report little awareness of the CPA policy (CPAA, 2006; McDermott, 1998).
