Nikola Tesla was a big importance for science. He helped with electricity and multiple thing in that category. People invent things and improve things all throughout your lifetime. This has happened a lot recently with technology. Also, other things are being improved as well. Many scientists have impacted not just the world, but the future with it. Nikola Tesla is one of these scientists along with many others. Nikola Tesla was born in 1856. He was born in Smiljan, Croatia. He was born on July 10, 1856. They both hated each other and brought each other down. They hated each other, but yet worked together. They didn’t literally work together. They both figured things out that benefitted them both. Everything they did was a competition between them. They had it out for each other. Unlike Tesla, Edison only had some education. He was home-schooled and he taught himself. That is very different from Tesla. Direct Current electricity comes from things such as batteries, modules, and generators. The polarity does not change. Nikola Tesla was a Serbian American inventor, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer and physicist. He was also considered an eccentric genius and recluse. Tesla is best known for his feud with Thomas Edison over AC power Versus DC Power. He was also well known for inventing the Tesla Coil which is still used in radio technology today. Nikola Tesla was mostly forgotten until the 1990’s when there was a resurgence of interest in popular culture.
Tesla’s career as an inventor started when he was in his late twenties. He displayed his incredible understanding of electricity and physics when he created his first invention, the induction motor. The induction motor is a small, electric motor that has become a very useful machine. In fact, most household appliances run using Tesla’s induction motor (Vujovic 1). Score one for Tesla. Soon after he invented the induction motor, Tesla moved to America to try his luck at living the American dream. While in New York City, Tesla got the amazing opportunity to work for his hero, Thomas Edison. However, Tesla soon quit working for Edison due to some disagreements between the two inventors. And so with Edison and his men biting at Tesla’s heels, Nikola set out on his own to make a name for himself (Vujovic 1). Tesla soon became Edison’s greatest competitor. Why are we using Alternationg Current today? There are a few reason although mainly it was due to the technology of the late 1800's and early 1900's. Nikola Tesla being one of the leading scientists for Alternating Current, created a way to run engines and also convert AC Volts and Amps. He came up with this while he was supposedly in a park in Budhapest. He sat down and drew out the basic diagram of a motor run by a magnetic flux.
All useful generators of electricity come in two basic forms, alternating current and direct current. Direct current (dc) comes from generators that do not change in polarity, always producing a positive charge. In alternating current (ac) the polarity of the terminals is always changing from positive to negative. Thus you are left with alternating current flow. The electricity released is moved by conductors, like wires. A battery released direct current when the batter is connected to wires, the electrons start to move one way like a direct current. There are two kinds of batteries, a primary battery and a secondary battery. A primary battery can only be used once and cannot be recharged.
