Nikola Tesla was a famed inventor in the 1800’s ,and 1900’s. Nikola Tesla was born in July 10, 1856 in Smiljan, Austria-Hungary. His parents were Reverend Milutin Tesla, a Serbian-Orthodox priest, and Djuka Tesla a very smart ,and inventive mother.He was a very smart kid which he saids was all thanks to his mother's teachings and his father's poetry.
At a young age Nikola Tesla already knew what he wanted to do , and that was to become an electrical engineer ,but his father wanted him to become a priest. One day Nikola got really ill almost to the point of death until his father told God that if he lets his son live he will pay for Nikola’s education to become an electrical engineer. Tesla’s career as an inventor started when he was in his late twenties. He displayed his incredible understanding of electricity and physics when he created his first invention, the induction motor. That being said, if given the opportunity to spend the next year of my life in a different time period I would like to live during the year 1942 so I could work beside Tesla. When Alexander Graham Bell and Antonio Meucci developed the telephone, they distributed communication among the masses (a profit), and thereby changed the globe for the better; that same reason is reflected throughout the ages: Percy Spencer, inventor of the microwave, gained favorable avail via his invention for not only himself, but the Earth as well. Thus, the innovators of the world retain that reason: they change things for the better because of the positive benefit that would befit doing so - the positive benefit for not only themselves, but the world. In the end, Tesla saved Edison over $100,000 (which would be millions today), but Edison refused to live up to his end of the bargain. Tesla quit, and Edison spent the rest of his life trying to stifle Tesla's reputation. Tesla devised a system for electricity, AC, which was better than Edison's DC system of electricity. AC (Tesla's system) is what is used in our homes today. AC offered many advantages over DC.

Later, fearing ruin, Westinghouse begged Tesla for relief from the royalties Westinghouse agreed to. “Your decision determines the fate of the Westinghouse Company,” he said. Tesla, grateful to the man who had never tried to swindle him, tore up the royalty contract, walking away from millions in royalties that he was already owed and billions that would have accrued in the future.
