It was a warm spring morning when I woke up the the morning birds chirping in the far distance. I had looked over to my alarm to see my alarm clock to read 4:30 am. I picked myself up out of the plain bed. I quickly walked over to the boxes that were scattered around my room. I slowly found the box that read fútbol clothes. I dug through the box to find my Nike shirt and shorts. I have a sponsorship with them, so they give me clothes and I wear them out in public. I put my hair into a quick braid. I had an extra 20 mins to waste until I start my workout for the day. I looked out the window to try to see the orange and yellow sky stretch across the horizon, but instead I see a guy about my age running down the narrow street. He looked like he
When you see this beautiful, comfortable, high top black and white pair of sneakers, you see greatness. You can wear them with a suit, or play basketball games in them, or be like me, and just want them forever. The shoes are size 7, and they weigh no more than three ounces. The stitching is so perfectly straight and pearly that it resembles models’ teeth. The laces are jet black like the eyes of a demon. However, with just eyesight you can’t tell the wonderful details of this shoe. You have to put them on, and you have to run around in them. The soles are very thin yet so soft and squishy, as if you were walking on clouds. This shoe is the 9th edition of Michael Jordan’s signature shoe to come out in stores. Have you ever had many friends that were wealthier than you? Have you ever went to school and played in the same shoes with holes in them? Have you ever gone to school with the same shoes two years in a row? Exactly. I have, and it’s not a good feeling when being talked down to. Bullying got on my nerves, so I just got into fights. With everything bad was happening in my life from my mother going to jail, and me barely having clothes on my back, as crazy as it may seem, all I wanted was a pair of Jordan’s.
There are about seven billion people in the world. Individuality distinguishes everyone from other people. However, with the development of commerce, advertisement for products which becomes much widespread are influencing people’s individuality. Some advertised products which are designed for normal consumers decrease people’s individuality. Meanwhile, some other products that have been advertised to those at a very high social level make them more of individuality.
When we arrived back to camp, the football coach announced that try-outs would be in 3 days. So, my friend and I arrived and compete against 30 other girls for 14 spots. We struggled until we were breathless and drenched in sweat, but we made the team! I made running back and my friend was a linebacker. Although we lost our first two games, we won the third, which was the first football game won in Crane Lake history. A week later color war broke out and I was placed on the blue team. Although my team didn’t win, we came to a close second and worked our hearts out to get there. On one of the last nights, we slept under stars on an overnight and although it was a bit cramped in the tent, we could not have been any closer together. Camp is my home away from
The next day I came bright and early at six thirty in the morning. Just as the sun creaked its bright light I walked through the old rusted door of our glorious school gym only to find half the school in wait to begin tryouts. I was nervous, almost scared. What if I’m warmed up, what if I’m not steady, what if I’m too cold, right there and then every single horrible situation flashed before my eyes. Whether it was me tripping over my untied shoelaces or a state of the art jet crashing through the ceiling only giving bodily injury to me. But before i knew it tryouts were over and not a single thing had gone wrong. To this day I still can’t remember a single thing i did in practice that year. Walking out the door I came to an abrupt halt as coach stops me with a serious face as usual.
It was in the middle of spring on a nice sunny day. I had just finished my last game from my recreational basketball league. Our team lost, but I put in my two points, along with two solid quarters of bench warming. I was never much of an athlete, but rather a “mathlete”. Regardless, I still had a lot of fun playing sports.
Research can be defined as a systematic method through which new knowledge is discovered. No matter what topic is being studied or analyzed, the value of research lies in how well it is designed and carried out. There are several types of research which include: surveys, interviews, content analysis and focus groups. As an advertiser it is important not only to be aware of your surroundings, but what goes on in people’s minds. Individuals’ needs and wants are not only essential but the base of an advertisement’s success. The purpose of this essay is to conduct my own research about a company that has transcended barriers such as race, disabilities, and gender with a phrase that has sparked interest, innovation and motivation all over the world: “Just Do It”. Since the 1980’s Nike has not only become one of the leading sports brands, but a corporation that learned just how to convey a message and reach their target consumers through successful advertisement. The question is: What is portrayed through Nike’s advertisement and slogans? How has this helped sales, and how far has advertisement pushed its success? The objective of this research paper is to find and understand in-depth answers to these questions that bring a
In this Case Study Analyses, an objective SWOT Analyses will be done to help identify potential strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats within the Nike Corporation.
I got on to the bus as fast as I could. I can’t believe we were going to play our rivals for the championship. We were on our way to go to Lake City to play the Titans. It seemed that we were missing somebody but we weren’t. Coach took a head count of the team and we all were on the bus accept for Alex, he broke his foot earlier in the season. Alex and his mom were following us in her van. When Alex got hurt we were lucky to make it to the championship. Alex was our star running back. Him and I were unstoppable when we were about to score. Alex and I are the best of friends. We have been friends since fourth grade. I told him to try football and he did, but he liked soccer. We made a deal I went out for soccer for a year, but he had to go out for football. Ever since he has went out for football. Alex and I have gone out for football for four years and they have been the best four years ever. The bus ride took forever, it seemed like it. The bus so noisy everybody had to yell to be heard. The coach couldn’t even hear the bus driver, and he was right next to the bus driver. We were finally there in Lake City. When we got into the locker room coach said, “Win or lose I want you to play your heart out and no matter what we will leave with our heads held high”. We meet in the hall and somebody on the other team says something nasty, they said, “You guys are going down today”. I wished everybody “good luck today” and “make the better team
On your marks get set go! As soon as I heard the ringing of the starting gun I took off, I could hear the wind whip around me as my arms and legs cut through the air. It was my first track meet and I had started it off great, I was in first place and no one could stop me. No one or nothing could stop me, that was the mindset that I had, but later in the race I would soon realize that I was wrong. While I was running I felt my pants slip and when I looked down, my shorts had fallen. At the moment I stopped running and I faced the crowd, I was so embarrassed and all I wanted to do was runaway. I thought about giving up and getting off the track but instead I pulled up my pants and I continued to run. I held unto my pants while I raced to the finish line and I succeeded and still got first place. My only mistake was when I reached the finish line I let go of my shorts and then they fell again.
I picked up my smooth soccer ball and placed it in my bag. I bent over and ran my hands threw the slimy grass to help clear my mind. I grabbed as piece of pre-wrap and gently put it in my damp hair. I quenched my thirst with a cold cup of water. As I began to watch the game, I slowly wiped the sweat off my face.
This is my story about when I got hit in the face by a soccer ball. It all stared that morning, September 19. I had my alarm set to 6:00 but like every morning I press the snooze button until I have like 20 minutes to get ready. 20 minutes is never enough time for me to get ready because I always get distracted. Even when I have like an hour to get ready I always end up not even close to ready when it’s time for me to get out the door. Anyways, I had 20 minutes to get ready and I already knew what I was going to wear for school, an army green shirt with light wash ripped jeans, I looked for it in my closet and quickly put it on my army green shirt and my ripped jeans. Then, I realized I would get cold through the day so I grabbed my Nike hoodie. Thank God I already had my soccer stuff ready for my game that I was going to have later that day. I only had to get my shoes on and brush my teeth and then I could head out the door. I put my shoes on and then I was ready to go. I
As time grew closer to the takeoff time I began sweating, “What if I couldn’t run the entirety of it?” “Would people be disappointed?” “Can I even run that much?” When there was ten minutes left before we started running everyone that was a part of the run came together for a group photo. The time came for us to start running with ease me and my friends started on our long run. Every step sending a thrill of exciting emotions that put smiles on everyone's face, but that would soon
The Varsity group was supposed to run 5 miles, the Junior Varsity group was supposed to run 4 miles, and I, along with the rest of my group, was supposed to run a measly 2 miles. Because my group was so slow and inexperienced, everyone had to walk at least once during the run. I didn’t give up so easily. I ran at a relatively easy pace as I thought about how I could prove my coach wrong. As I ran, I felt the air blow against both my face and my body. I saw cars going back and forth on the road, and bikers pedaling along the path smoothly. I smelled the fresh air that was laced with the smell of my sweat, which had developed due to the heat. I heard my soft, even breaths and my pounding feet hitting the gravel path. Before I knew it, I was ahead of everyone else in my group. Then it hit me. “Maybe this is it,” I thought. “This is how I can make the coach reconsider her decision. I can run faster than everyone else, and then she’ll see that I’m not what she thought I was.” This simple verdict made me push my legs to run even faster, as I was elated to prove my coach wrong. I kept
At last we had brought all our practicing skills into work at the final stages. After working hard for three solid months it all paid off, the competing mat was beneath our feet. It was as if I could almost hear the girl?s hearts thumping before we walked onto the mat. I couldn?t stop smiling, I had the biggest grin on my face as if I were the cat who just ate the canary. Only when I thought that was enough, my facial expressions were amazing, all the nights I spent in front of the mirror or watching my self through the reflection of the glass door in my kitchen. It?s hard to go first because watching all the other teams compete makes you think, how did I do?
Before I was 12, I was a really fat boy with a weak body. I almost get a sick every year during winter. I can’t run really fast even though I didn’t eat anything. And after I meet my basketball coach, things has been change. I played basketball just for fun and I find out I lost too much fat and never feel exhausted after work out. I didn't sick frequently every winter. And then I just know that playing basketball is a good way to gain muscle, increasing the heart rate and growing faster. So I get to do this sport and treat it as my hobby. I grow a lot and become stronger.
