My vacation in Niagara Falls was just fine. It had a couple of pros and cons. The hotel room had a few flaws; the pool wasn’t that relaxing; and the ride to the hotel and home took a while. Although, the view at Niagara Falls was unbelievable. Overall, the vacation was nice, but not that strikingly amazing. The hotel we were staying in was Hampton Inn. Using the hotel key was kind of troublesome at first but that didn’t matter. When we got in to the room, it looked reasonably tidy and well-kept although, there were some minor issues. First, I noticed there was a stain that was on the curtain. And second, the box of tissues in the bathroom was wet. These issues weren’t too major but they are some things to look out for. When I go on vacation,
swimming is very crucial to me. The pool wasn’t truly relaxing, partly because the water was colder than most pools. But the real issue is the interior of the pool; the walls and floor of the pool was really rough! It was rougher than sandpaper. So, when I was swimming, I accidentally kicked a side of the pool. My big toe was scraped against the wall. When I got out of the pool, my toe was bleeding, so I left the pool. What surprises me is that the hot tub’s interior was made of nice, smooth tiles while the pool was like concrete. I was not really able to enjoy myself in this pool. What irritates me the most about vacation is getting to and from the hotel. I am not a fan of long car rides. The car ride to our house to the hotel took us almost 9 dreary hours! The car ride was very tiring and dull. The ride to the hotel took so long, we got there at almost 10 PM. This is kind of why I don’t like going to distant places on vacation. Sadly, I think we spent more time driving than having fun on vacation. Going to Niagara Falls, I think, was the foremost best part of vacation. The ride there was very captivating because I was able to see Canada across a river when we were driving. The view at the falls was unbelievable. When we were there, I saw a couple of people climbing over a fence that prevented people from falling in. Apparently, the people went to the edge of the land and took selfies. They literally had the most breathtaking view. As you can see, my vacation in Niagara Falls was delightful because of the view at Niagara Falls. Even though it had a few downs including the flaws in the hotel room, the swimming pool, and the long ride, I had a great time at the falls.
While being born in the modern times, no woman knows what it was like to have a status less than a man’s. It is hard to envision what struggles many women had to go through in order to get the rights to be considered equal. In the essay The Meanings of Seneca Falls, 1848-1998, Gerda Lerner recalls the events surrounding the great women’s movement. Among the several women that stand out in the movement, Elizabeth Cady Stanton stands out because of her accomplishments. Upon being denied seating and voting rights at the World Antislavery Convention of 1840, she was outraged and humiliated, and wanted change. Because of Elizabeth Cady Stanton’s great perseverance, the Seneca Falls Convention of 1848 was a success as well as a great influence on the future of women’s rights.

The Lenape tribe is tribal community now mostly known as the Delaware Tribe of Indians and the Delaware Nation. They were also called Lenni Lenape. There are currently very few Lenape Indians and most are located in Canada and parts of the United States. They were branched into several different clans. They lived mostly near rivers and were divided into three major clans. The first clan was the tukwsi-t or the wolf the second was the pukuwanku or the turtle and pele' which translates to turkey (Waldman). For thousands of years they lived peaceful lives and survived off of planting and hunting. Women were strongly valued in this tribe therefore they followed a matrilineal system. Everyone in the tribe had specific roles even the children. As the first European explorers arrived the tribe’s life shifted drastically. For the Lenape tribe the 1700s was a devastating time.

Because the hotel was designed by Mudgett and not by a professional architect, the construction of the building would be deemed unsafe by inspectors out of pure lack of architectural knowledge; the building would be found to have many hazards to the customers, both intentional and unintentional. His building would have needed to be inspected before it could be used for commercial purposes and would have had a very hard time passing the inspection, thus preventing or at the least delaying it’s opening. The inspectors of the building would have found gas lines running throughout the structure and would have adamantly rejected the commercial use of the building due to its odd safety hazards. Inspectors of the building would also be wary of the surgical tables in an office with no reason behind medical accommodations in a hotel, only deepening their suspicions and increasing the likelihood of disapproving of the building’s commercial use. As if that wasn’t enough to warrant concern; the dynamics of the vault would prove inadequate for glass making purposes, the claimed purpose behind the vault. By the end of the inspection, the building would have a number of safety issues that would have to be resolved before it could be opened and the inspection itself would likely result in contact with the police due to the abnormalities inside the
Today we will be talking about the Seneca Falls Convention conservation and what it was about. It was about slavery and their society and how they longed for equality, peace and freedom. For example, a woman named Lucretia Mott wed to a fellow teacher named James Mott, and moved to Philadelphia. Suffrage, which was slowly introduced, means the power to choose rulers and make laws. This law provided equal righting votes no matter what gender the citizen is. Mott attend a meeting called the American Anti-Slavery. A person named Elizabeth Candy Stanton organized the Declaration of Sentiments. The Declaration of Independence listed 18 changes which allowed married women to keep their own name if they
During the time known in America as the period of Jim Crow, after decades of slavery, free African Americans were still tormented with inequality and discrimination. African American people were held under laws and restrictions, unlike privileged white Americans. Jim Crow Laws enabled prejudice to proliferate, which made it difficult for African Americans to prosper. Through this perilous era, there were many campaigns and strategies formed to progress the Freedom Movement, such as the African American Colonization Society, who helped African Americans immigrate to Africa. Additionally, the Niagara Movement, an all black society working toward civil rights frequently came to the aid of African Americans through the Jim Crow period, as black
All in all my stay in Blackpool was relaxing and unexpected and then it rained. It got better but then it rained. So despites the inevitable rain, I had an amazing time. My chances of visiting Australia are still about as nonexistent and my Piggy bank and my dreams of Disney world have been written off. All of it was replaced by Blackpool. A resort only on my doorstep, along with its fun-loving attractions; however contradicting that may sound because of my lack of enthusiasm to roller coasters, I’d still recommend it!
In the mid-19th century, people were mesmerized by the western part of the United States so much that they were willing to risk life and limb for a new start at life. The Oregon Trail was a 2,170-mile land route that started in the Midwest to new settlements in Oregon, California, and Utah. This route enabled early Pioneers to migrate west, all the way to the Pacific Ocean. The first pioneers to travel this route were Marcus and Narcissa Whitman, the two made their journey in 1836 . The first mass migration did not occur in tell the year 1843, when approximately 1000 pioneers set off from Independence, Missouri. The current size, inherent values, and economic status of the United States owes greatly to the paramount figures and events that took place during the Early National Period of the country. However, while there is no doubt that such events- and the figures behind them- were of great importance and have molded the country into the pristine product that it is today, the various construction projects of that time have gone largely unnoticed. Canals, being one of the most prominent advances in transportation, are prime examples of forgotten catalysts of the American nation. The construction of canals- particularly the Erie Canal- during the 19th century played a key role in the geographic, economic, and cultural development of the country by
To imply that I have always known what I wanted to become in life would be an incorrect statement to make. All I ever wanted to do is acquire a good education in engineering, work, make money, and help people.
The city of Ottawa is the capital and the heart of Canada. Canada's capital was chosen by Queen Victoria at that time. Canada was centrally located between the cities of Montreal and Toronto, and was along the border of Ontario and Quebec. Queen chose Ottawa as a capital of Canada because the Ottawa was not in Toronto or Montreal or in Quebec. And because Ottawa is bordering between the two colonies and with mainly french and British population, which made it easy because they won't favor either of them. In past Ottawa knows as Bytown. The name Ottawa comes from the Algonquin word adawe – which means to trade, so it’s always been an important business center.
