I’ve always had a love for traveling. But I think when I really caught the “travel bug” was last summer I took a road trip to New Orleans and then to Austin, Texas. I honestly love long car rides and listening to music and eating fast food for a whole entire day. I remember arriving in New Orleans around 8 PM and the sun was almost gone and the streets are really narrow so there was just enough room for the sun to fit in between the houses. The atmosphere is different. It just made me feel more relaxed and carefree. Even though it was night time it was still really warm and humid. My whole trip in New Orleans revolved around food. The food is really different and it’s a really big deal down there. Like instead of snowcones, there’s snow balls, and …show more content…
Of course I went to the french quarter and the french market. There are so many different and interesting pieces of art and jewelry and pretty much anything you can think of in the quarter. After New Orleans my family and I went on another long car ride to Austin, Texas. Austin is the most beautiful and exciting place I’ve ever been to. There are hundreds of things to do there and I never got bored. It’s also a very healthy city with lots of organic food and many hiking/ biking trails. Food trucks are a big deal down there too. They’re everywhere, in trailer parks, on the side of a road, pretty much every corner you turn, you are face to face with a food truck. There’s a lot of culture there too. A lot of different types of food and music and clothing and art ect. I just absolutely loved learning about the different stories behind all the buildings and art and restaurants. I think that's what makes me want to travel so bad. I love learning about the history of cities and trying different food and experiencing new things. Because every city is different and it’s fun and interesting learning about every
From 2004 to 2009, I lived in Atlanta, Ga while working for a large firm; I was able to travel all across the country and overseas. When I was younger I use to travel quite a bit with my family. These times in my life cannot be over looked as they gave me experiences in culture that cannot be learned from a book. When I use to travel, I hated the actual traveling aspect. Getting on planes were the worst. Most companies were the same. Really uncomfortable and no space for my legs loved getting the aisle seat for legs but the occasional cart crashing or running into my leg sucked. The one thing missing from most of my flights was the service and the way employees and customers were treated by the companies.
new people as well as see new cultures. It has always been a dream of mine to travel
I took a trip to Colorado In July of 2015 it was the best week of my life. The best part of that week was the day that I got to spend in rocky mountain national park. It was a great experience with beautiful scenery and wildlife everywhere you looked. This trip changed everything I thought about where I wanted to go and what I wanted to do when I am finished with my schooling.
"mmm" regularly traveling is what I desired to do my entire life, except I've never been capable of.This is excellent to follow what people's. lives are and what places there are.I admire geography and how it influences their lives and our lives.Knowing places like Australia would make you fully understand why it is
...and how others live. Whether it is going to a new foreign restaurant, studying history, or even just meeting an immigrant or someone with a unique cultural background, I constantly seek new experiences in a city with such a diverse populace to broaden my perspective on the world.
If I were able to travel to anywhere in this world without worrying about expenses, I would travel to New Orleans; a Louisiana city that is located on the Mississippi River and is in close proximity to the Gulf of Mexico. New Orleans has a number of things to provide as to why I would travel there, but I only picked my main three that I mostly want to do. The first reason is for the unique and diverse culture New Orleans has to offer. The other two reasons are for the history and to witness the creepy side of New Orleans that it is most famous and known for.
Besides the food and beautiful attractions, I learn about different cultures, become aware of what is happening in different areas, and I gain new perspectives. This is one of the many reasons why I love and appreciate traveling; it is eye opening and makes me appreciate my life more. Above all, traveling allows me to gain new experiences to become a social worker and a more compassionate
But I want to discover the streets, the street food, the vibe, the history, and I want locals to tell me where to go. I want to see and experience a bit of the life that they do. I used to do long hiking trails, slept in caves and tents, carried backpacks and tents and all that, but I don’t think I’d travel that way again, even though it provides even more freedom. I’ve realized that a comfortable bed and warm bath or shower makes for a good night’s sleep, and the next day can be enjoyed to the fullest. That’s where I’m at now.
New York, what a city! All the lights, and busy areas are a breathtaking experience. Possibly, one of the busiest cities in the United States. From personal experience, it was a once in a lifetime thing to endure. Although, it does smell due to the sewers and Chinatown, walking at night past dark, scary alleyways was not the ideal thing to do.
The closeness to nature is quite cleansing. I was able to take a walk amongst trees, and feel the energy pulsating off of the earth. On a more social side of things, I was able to indulge in exquisite cuisine: lists of fragrant wines, portions of meat, and never-ending pizza. Without seeing any more of the city, I could have just taken an adventure within the food. One of the most memorable experiences was my walk around the river Rio De la Plata.
In that place, I developed a love for nature and challenge. Just being there was a challenge that made me feel like I was earning it. We were battered by powerful winds at night making us stay up through many nights. By day we were rewarded with gentle breezes and beautiful weather. We ate canned food that all tasted the same and were rewarded by picking a delicious local salad that tasted like heaven on a plate.
I’ve always travelled. Beginning from when I was six years old, I’ve gone to at least one trip a year, whether it be just to my uncles in the states or a trip to Australia through winter. In 2017 I took a road trip through BC down to Portland, and back through Montana, to Maryland, Ontario, Las Vegas, Bangladesh and Australia, all within the year. Despite going to all these unfamiliar places, I would say staying in one’s home for too long feels stranger. I’m always going somewhere, always moving. Curiously, of all the new and exciting places I visited last year, my trip to Ontario, a place I lived for many years, made one of the most lasting impression.
One of my favorite things to do when traveling in a new city is to visit the museums. I
I was able to spend a lot of time with my family, our friends, and play all sorts of games. This experience made me start to like traveling. Every time I would get the chance to travel, I will take that chance. We were able to go to a theme park, eat many delicious foods, and play many video
The world is full of wonders and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities, that we take advantage of. Traveling is the ultimate education and it never fails as a teacher. It teaches you things no class can about the world and yourself. Seeing a historical spot and being in the environment it is in teaches you what no text book can. Most people hear about what is happening in the world through the bias not understanding media. However, if you are a traveler the real world influences you in a way the media will never be able to. We understand how the world works with its many cultures and lifestyles. Being a part of and experiencing different cultures broadens your views of the world and changing’s what you think of the world. Having expanded knowledge and understanding about culture is not the only thing travelers have. Finding your true self and learning about who you are is the best thing about being a traveler. There is no better way to find yourself because when you travel you open yourself up to millions of opportunities. Without travel you may be completely unaware of your true persona. Your limits are tested and you are completely out of your comfort zone when traveling. Getting out of the comfort zone helps you grow as a person and see your potential. I have experienced many different cultures that have personally changed myself and my outlook of the world. Traveling has given me the greatest education I know more about the world, cultures, and myself. Being a traveler is a huge blessing in my life I am so glad I am able to travel and see the world. Nothing can take away the memories that traveling and being a traveler has brought me. Get out there and see this beautiful world for yourself and become a traveler, you will not regret
