Neurotheology should be open for science to investigate. All manifestations that cause us to wonder should be explored. If we could pick one mystery in the world that people really want to know about, that would be of God within the confines of science. It could help explain or at the very least grasp a better understanding of how and why people all over the world believe in a higher power and feel the need to worship something. Some other finding not even related to religion maybe discovered.

It should be further investigated to see if our brains are actually wired for religious ceremony or if it just adapted to that over centuries, by our ancestors. If it could be proven that our brains are wired exclusively for worship, then people who have long denied the existence of God, would still argue points to the contrary, regardless of what science …show more content…

Everything that was going on around me, was gone and all I could hear was mumbling. I cannot explain it, but it was almost like an apparition of myself, but I was the apparition looking at the physical me. This article made me wonder if there is a connection, to what I experienced and what religious people experience, "heightened emotion is key".

Some people have claimed to have felt the same type of "oneness" with the universe, that I suppose I could have explained my experience that way. I just wonder if under extreme stress or an extreme emotional belief in anything can propel you into the feeling of what is interpreted as a religious experience. I am only beginning to understand the way the mind works, so my experience maybe way off base to this other phenomena of religious transition within the mind, but I could not help seeing a similar connection.
