It was 9:30 AM when my mother and I left home to go to the windy city of Chicago, where we would pick up my younger brother Evan, at the airport then drive another 45 minutes to the Great Lakes, Illinois. We would watch my older brother Christian, graduate from boot camp and spend some time with him just before we left him again two days later. The starting of the 3 hour and 15 minute trip was uneventful. The first stop of the road trip was at Walmart in town to pick up food along with some Pepsi drinks. We then proceeded down the highway, it wasn 't too long until I plugged in my iPod into the car’s audio system the car we had for this trip was a rental so I had taken full advantage of the audio system, by playing only my music. At the shop was a vinger where you could dip your french fries in and eat, I am not one to like the idea of dipping french fries in vinegar but it was pretty good. After we had finished our meals we got back on the road, I brought my favorite emoji pillow whom my best friend bought for me, so I fell asleep for a bit while my mom drove. About an hour later we had entered Gary, Indiana it looked exactly how I seen it in many videos i seen in classes. It looked like a ghost town, the sky above was dense with smog and pollution from the cars and whatever factories that were still there. While we drove past a subway station there were strands of people who were lined up like sardines in a …show more content…
It seemed like the circus was there… Seriously. I walked by a mirror which made my head bigger than it already is. There were kids getting their faces painted, clowns were being well clowns, a magician was making three linked circles into three individual rings. It had entertained me was we were walking, one clown had given me a flower in which died a day later. Once we were passed the circus tables my nose was invaded by the smell of food. I looked at the prices of the food and I quickly shut my stomach up. Pro tip while traveling the food at airports is very expensive. My mother and I finally arrived to the gate where Evan my younger brother was to arrive. We waited as one plane landed and passengers walked off of the plan, then the next group of passengers boarded the plane and soon left. It would be the next plane Evan would be on, i walked on the moving sidewalk as we waited on the plane to get in. Once the plane landed and everything settled the gates were open and Evan was the first one off of the plane. I teased him about his hair being too long and it would have to be shaved off while my mother talked to the flight
It was the day of April 13, 2000. I woke up at exactly 12 o’clock because my boyfriend was to pick me up at 1 like we planned the night before. The day looked quite nice, but I was in a fowl mood. I got into a car accident the night before and had a huge argument with my parents about the car. I finally dragged myself into the shower and got ready in half an hour. Then I went downstairs, sat on my couch, and repeatedly told myself the day would hopefully turn out better than last night. At around 1:15, my boyfriend came to pick me up. We took the 5 freeway to the 57 since it was the only way I knew how to get there. As we approached the 134 freeway, my girlfriend veered to the right, taking the 210 which was wrong way and got us lost. So, we exited the freeway and got back on the right track. Then finally, before long, we reached Norton Simon.
Just before sunrise, on Oct. 12, 2003, the residents of Argyle Road in Brooklyn were woken by gunfire.
At the age of seven, my life changed forever. I was no longer living in my native country; I was now a fragment of the millions of immigrants who come to the United States in search of the American Dream. At the time, my father had recently lost his job and my mother was unemployed, which caused incredible financial stress for my family. My father decided to risk his life crossing the Rio Grande River for our family to have a better life and greater rewards.
stood upon, was frightening. The only was to go was down. I took a deep
I did not want to leave. I had been here for ten days and I had established relationships and friendships with people from everywhere and all sorts of backgrounds. We all sat in the car preparing to leave. Every single one of us, my parents, brother and me, sitting in silence. Wanting to cry, waiting for someone to say the first word. Each of us had learned something that trip. For me, this experience had taught me what gratefulness was, the impact a good attitude has, what a servant looks like, and really how the relationships we make with our life is the most important aspect about life.
When most people think about an eventful or memorable place, they almost certainly would not picture a bus. As we all know, buses are not exactly attractive. The design scheme is the same in almost every bus: rows and rows of brown seats, a thin black aisle down the middle of the bus, hundreds of hazy windows, and the big, lemon-yellow exterior. Not many people, I am sure, would consider buses to be an important part of their lives. However, if a person were to think about it, they would realize that they probably have had at least one memorable experience in their life that took place on a bus.
bad as I expected it to be. The queue seemed to flow by. Like fish in
there was no possible fishing hole in sight. All I could see was a river
Last year I got involved in a massive car accident. It was the most terrified part of life. It was the moment. I will never forget in my whole life. Before, I never realized how people really feel when a car accident happens. But,after this car accident I know what really it felt like. It was the moment. My mind was totally feared of driving. I was crushed by the hot metal and cold dirt of car. I was not feeling my arm,my body was numbed. It was felt like my lower body pressed down with monster force. All I could feel was the noise of car accident ringing in my ear.I was barely able to move my body. I was kept thinking. What my parents going to think about this? Where is my friend John? I looked through the window and saw the cars passing by
Going on a road trip with my family means the world to me. We drove to another state during summer vacation, and it was by far the best road trip I have ever been on. My family and I were able to go to many fun places. We ate so many exotic and delicious foods as well. Yet most importantly, I spent time with my family and their friends. It was the day when my family and I went to California for our summer vacation.
I lived with my father for my entire life, but due to his work I did not spend much time with him. My father worked at a different city; and thus he comes home only a few times a month. My father is a mechanic. He works at a company that is distant from our home. This was due to the company being the only one and the first where cars were being assembled in Ethiopia. Sometimes on the weekends I used to go to his work place. He would give me a trip of the place; the station was filled with vehicles, trucks, and motorcycles. It was separated by sections. In each section there were only one type of vehicle and the assembly process was shown step by step. From a fuse to large engine of the car, components were getting attached.
The world is a magnificent place that’s full of life and new places. Places that are waiting to be walked upon and viewed by the eye’s of travelers. To make new memories and go places that is beyond the walls of reality and new pathways of life. To truly experience the wonders that the world has to offer can be expressed by the life of one single person, setting off into the world to gain a higher purpose about the world. Traveling individually enables people to broaden their minds and accumulate new ideas and new experiences both nationally and internationally. By setting off into the world a person has the ability to learn so many new things, but also find so much about themselves while in the process of traveling.
There is nothing quite like traveling, going someplace new and finding out more about the world and yourself. Anyone can become a traveler it just takes a little bit of faith and courage. Traveling across the world or even across the country is a learning experience. When you are a traveler you see how people live and how different cultures work. It is the best educational experience you could give yourself. You see how the world works in a way no one can teach you. Seeing different cultures and people help build the person you want to be. If you are a traveler the world influences you, because when traveling, you see the good and the bad, and you learn from the right and the wrong. I am very lucky that I am able to be a traveler and see this
An Unforgettable Trip - Personal Writing I finally arrived in Pakistan on a hot, June morning after nine tiring days. hours. The time is a lot. We finally arrived in a village and the heat beyond words was irritating me. I looked around me, there were trees and greenery.
My most memorable trip was the day I went to the Children 's Memorial Hospital to meet my baby brother. Meeting my brother was an indelible moment because I had never felt such happiness and love for someone. On our way there, I also got to create a bond with both my parents and learn how to be a better happier person. At the time I was sixteen years old and was going through a stage where I felt depressed and that’s why the day I arrived at the hospital to meet my brother I felt this warmth in my heart that made me feel happy again.
