My Writing Experience Essay

Take a Moment and think about writing and how often a day you write something down. You use writing when you pay bills, fill out an application, even text or post a something on Facebook. Writing plays a key role not only in education, but in life. Look at it this way, if the world had no writing I would not be writing this paper. The declaration of Independence would not be a thing, we would know nothing about history. Texting and books would only be a dream, and no one would write movie scripts so Bye, Bye movies. Writing just like reading or math is key to making the world function. No one just learns to write it is taught, and developed. To do so my room will be a safe learning environment for my students to express themselves as individuals and be creative and use their imagination. I will guide my students to help them reach the best of their ability so they can become the best writers they can be. I want my students to know its ok to make mistakes and that even I as a teacher mess up sometimes. I want to encourage my students to help one another and to not be afraid to ask for advice. Some other qualities I think an effective teacher possess are patience, and kindness. I feel as if a teacher should be able connect with the students. According to research effective writing practices like writing process, Gradual Release, and differention help spark creation. According to an article. “That students who learn the writing process score better on state writing tests than those who receive only specific instruction in the skills assessed on the test” (international Literacy association, n.d.). Further in my research I found an article by Johns Hopkins School of Education that states “No single strategy for teaching writing will prove effective for all students. Furthermore, the above strategies do not constitute a writing curriculum.
