Exploring new cultures has always been exciting to me and has constantly caught my curiosity since I was younger. My personal experience with trying new things has always been successful and I have a tendency to go back and continue to learn about them. I’ve never really explored in depth in certain cultures other than Latin American countries and some European cuisine through my culinary arts class, but, I have always wanted to learn more about other countries but my resources have been limited because books cannot truly describe the experience of being there. I have a passion for food and everything about cooking and baking while using different techniques I learned from other cultures than my own has only sparked my interest about them. I maybe wasn’t able to read all of the products, but the pictures on them explained to me what it was and I was able to find a couple things of what I liked. I didn’t feel as much as a minority once I left the store then when I first enter because I encountered many different races not just Asians and experienced languages from all over. It made me think about that woman that I met and compared our emotions when going into the market. We were both nervous about being seen differently and be considered ourselves outsiders of that community, but in reality we were just like everyone else that walked in that store. I’d never thought of another person being in the same position as I was and never that someone could be considered different because of their culture and caused me to think from another viewpoint other than my own.
