My Passions I Want To Make In The Healthcare Industry

Where do I want to be in ten years and how will I reach this goal? What impact will the path I choose today have on my family, my friends, and my coworkers? What impact do I want to make in the healthcare industry? To answer these questions, I must look to the past where I have discovered my passions. These passions propel me into the future and define my goals.
I discovered years ago that serving people is one of my strengths. Helping others provides an opportunity for me to help coworkers become successful in the workplace and patients to overcome healthcare obstacles. Recently I was introduced to the concept of helping healthcare provide care that is careful and kind through Shared Decision Making and Minimally Disruptive Medicine. This care seeks to understand each individual patient and discover what is best for them and their family. I currently work in the Knowledge and Evaluation Research (KER) Unit at Mayo Clinic, a national leader in these concepts. A Master’s in Healthcare Administration will help me pursue a leadership position in the KER Unit to contribute more meaningfully to this newly discovered passion. …show more content…

First, legislators are working to change healthcare policies and provide affordable care. With additional education, I would gain a deeper understanding of healthcare policy and how it affects patient care.
