In a single moment my mom realised being born with a left cleft palate was not the end of the world. Growing up was never easy for her since she was born this way. People underestimated what she could since she went through so many surgeries and challenges. Going to school everyday became harder and harder. The faces people would make at her, the stares she would get, and the ongoing humiliation of being born this way troubled her. It was her family that was most dear to her as she grew up. My mother was named Marvelous, because my grandfather believed that in spite of it all she would be successful. My mom always wanted to be a flight attendant, but after looking at all their requirements she decided to choose another career. After graduating from high school my mom went to college and got a degree in accounting. She worked at the airport as an accountant for two years, then one day my mom heard some news about …show more content…
On August 14 1999 my mom boarded the plane to America following her passion. She landed in Dallas, Texas the place where her bible college Christ For The Nations was. Coming to America was one of the best things that ever happened to her. Christ For The Nations was where her journey in America started. Christ For The Nation's taught her a lot in ministry like perseverance, because being a pastor is not easy. Two years after coming to Christ For The Nations my mother was ordained Pastor Marvelous. After graduating from Christ For The Nations. My mom stayed in Dallas, Texas until a friend connected her with my dad and they got married. After they got married in 2001 they moved to New Jersey where my dad had been living. While living in New Jersey my mom had my older sister in 2002, and me in 2003. Our family enjoyed living in New Jersey until 2005 when my parents decided that they wanted to raise in a less packed place. We moved to Indiana in August of

She decided to stay at Palmer for eight years and in the time that she was there, she earned her Bachelor’s degree. After her time at college, she met my dad, they got married, had five kids, and she became a stay-at-home mom when we lived in Hackettstown, New Jersey. When we moved to Marshall, Michigan, in 2003, my mom started working at Caring Hands Chiropractic to help support our family. We then, as a family, moved to England for two years in 2008 (which was due to the Kellogg Cereal Company wanting my dad to travel there) and when we came back to Marshall in 2010, my mom became an
How would you feel if your devoted dog was discriminated against based only on what he looked like? Canine breed discrimination is a real problem in today’s society in the United States. There is always an enormous amount of hype when one hears about a dog attack. The first thing people want to know is what kind of dog was involved in the attack. That breed of dog then gets labeled as “dangerous”, quietly forcing people to change their opinion on a certain breed based on an action of only a couple of dogs.
Shortly after my mother had entered fifth grade her father got orders to go to Lima, Peru to help on the military base there. Her family lived in a wonderful house just outside of town. In the beautiful house my mothers sisters and her made memories that they will never forget, like making mud pies out of sticks and mud. After two years of living in Lima they moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina for three years, and back to Lima for two years.
I, Meisha McDaniel, was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma 19 years ago on December 27th, 1995. Growing up in Tulsa, I felt that there was no better place to reside, despite the flaws of my city. My mom, my brother (now 10 years old) and grandmother always lived next door to one another, or resided together. We were the true church going family, and I loved it. I consider myself a preacher’s kid because my Grandmother and Grandfather are forever committed and dedicated to the ministry. I spent my school years in the city, and would stay on my aunt’s farm and travel to church camp during the summer.
Everyone has a story, a pivotal moment in their life that started to mold them into the person they are today and may even continue to mold you to the person that you will become, I just had mine a little bit earlier than others. When I was three years old my brother became a burn survivor. It may seem too early for me to remember, but I could never forget that day. Since then, I have grown, matured and realized that what my family and I went through has been something of a benefit to be and an experience that has helped me in deciding what I want to do with the rest of my life.
Most scientists agree that humans are contributing to global warming effects around the world. The existence of the polar ice caps and the rate at which they are melting are threatened by global warming. This threat is leading scientists to use geothermal energy in our everyday lives in hopes of preserving the polar ice caps. In order for people to thinking about helping to preserve them, they need to understand polar ice caps. Because polar ice caps are melting, there are many issues occurring in our world such as natural disasters. People are impacting the melting of the ice caps but, the ice caps are also impacting people as well. One alternative to using fossil fuels is geothermal energy. Geothermal energy can change the way we use resources from the earth forever, and potentially slow the rate of global warming.

Separated from my mother for eight years. When I moved to America, every day I missed her so much and growing without her was challenging. I know she’s a great mother. She was born in the Philippines in 1971. She graduated from college with a degree in midwifery. My parents had a comfortable life but they wanted some better opportunities for us four kids. So my parents decided to move to the United States.
I was born in Bronxville, New York, and my family relocated to Ooltewah, Tennessee when I was six years of age because they wanted all of their children to attend an excellent religious school. The nearby school system offered a Christian education and spanned from preschool to college. The school and community offered a rich variety of after school activities to keep us occupied and engaged. My grandparents were immigrants and they migrated to America for higher incomes and a richier education for their family, without a college diploma, but they were industrious and hard working and paved the path to my parents success. Church and school attendance was imperative for my parents and they instilled the same values in us. My parents, both
My maternal grandmother was born in the Netherlands and came over on a ship at age 3. Their family was in search of medical assistance for my great grandmother who was ill. Unfortunately, she died soon after they arrived in America. My grandmother had 3 other siblings and it was hard on her father, so he searched for a new wife. The woman he wanted to marry refused to marry him unless he would become a Christian. So he became a Christian, married, and they had two children of their own
Moving to Eagle Rock really shaped me into the man of God I am today. Here I matured quickly because no one my age, took Christianity as seriously as I did. Here I grew without a youth pastor and without a youth
This tribute goes out to my great grandma MyKayla IdaMay Jolley. Great grandma went through many rough times and many good times. Today we celebrate her 100th birthday. I would like to tell you about my great grandma. She was an interesting person and had a wonderful life. This is her story of how she ended up to be 100 with a loving husband, three kids, eight grand children, and sixteen great grand children.
Battling a miscarriage a couple years prior, my mother was feeling mixed emotions. Around this time, I was a senior in high school so the news was neutral for me being that I was the only child for eighteen years. I did not know if I should rejoice or complain because I was leaving for college soon. My brother was born about two weeks before my high school graduation, and I must say that it was a very intense and complicated birth being that my mother was nearly forty giving birth to her second child.
Has anyone ever asked you: “Who is most important to you”? To me the most wonderful mother in my life, no one can replace her in my heart. My mother, who is very nice and gentle, helps me and has always been there for me when I need her. My mother loves me very much. She is strict and educated me to become a good person. I can’t say how much love her. I am grateful to her because she gave me birth, brings me love and helped me grow up. But you know she just takes care of me a lot. Every day she tells me the same words. If you were me, you would feel very tired. I am a very happy child having my mother. I feel too tired to listen to her words, but imagine one day I don’t see her any longer and listen to her voice. What would I feel?
