I had many responsibilities while on the job, which included bringing them to sporting events, ensuring that they were on time to all of their activities, helping them get ready in the morning, and cleaning up after them. The biggest responsibility of all was having to problem solve when the kids misbehaved and figure out a solution to fix the issue at hand. I was recently asked by the same family to come back this summer, but currently I am seeking to get a job at Hobby Lobby.

I want to get involved on campus by attending chapel, sporting events, joining a bible study, and participating in intramurals. I think that it is extremely important for me to get involved in the campus community because that is where I will make lifelong friendships. I believe that I am deserving of this scholarship because I have pushed myself to do well in school throughout my high school career. I haven’t slacked off and taken easy classes, I have taken advanced placement and college classes in order to push myself to become a better student. I have many aspirations and goals for the next years of my life, and I know that it isn’t going to be easy especially because student loans will always be lingering over my head. I have come to realize in life that every penny counts, and so it is my hope that some of the burdens that I will face will be lifted.
Why I need this Scholarship (100 words)
I have very ambitious goals that I am hoping to achieve, and I am coming to find that in order to achieve them I am going to end up with a substantial amount of debt. I need this scholarship because I have the mindset that every penny counts, and I am hoping to help relieve some of the stress that I have over money. I would greatly appreciate this generous scholarship because it could be put to great use to help fund my future educational plans as an undergraduate student at Judson
In high school I was involved in 3 clubs, 3 varsity sports, and did a least 40 hours of community service through National Honors Society and National Technical Honors Society. I participated in National Technical Honors Society and Health Occupations Students of America(HOSA) through Lapeer County Education and Technical center, and participated in athletics at Imlay City high school. During my high school career I played varsity volleyball for two years, varsity basketball for one year, and varsity soccer for four years, but I jumped back and forth from junior varsity to varsity my freshman year. Also, while being apart of HOSA I was a junior representative my junior year of high school, and I am Vice-President my senior year. And I also mentor our middle school chapter of HOSA and help them to accomplish all of their competitive events.
... been nourished at Grace Church and the Merge youth group, and I have been a part of the youth group at Northview Church as well. Taking apologetics through Anchors Away has fomented my faith, and I have made amazing friends both my age and adults who have guided and are guiding me through life. Most recently, I went on an evangelical trip to South Africa that completely changed my outlook on life and is currently challenging the path I had defined for myself.
I know that through my hard work and dedication I can make my goals a reality. However, it may not be possible without these Scholarships. While my parents will help me in any way they can, I am hoping that my hard work and dedication to my studies pays off. I am a very self-driven individual who will accomplish any goal I set my mind on achieving. I am also aware of how without scholarships I may face a financial setback. I am hoping that through the help of scholarships I will be able to achieve all my goals in a timely
but I also participated in Campus Life, The First Church of the Nazarene Youth Group, and off season intra mural sports such as basketball and baseball. I also volunteered in my community by serving at the soup kitchen, filling backpacks for children in need through the “Blessings in a Backpack”, Operation Backyard, Volunteer basketball coach for Kim League Basketball program at the YMCA, and most recently a Middle School Campus Life leader of 7th grade boys at Crestview Middle
I would like to travel Nicaragua to spend time with my Family and go visit the beach and beautiful and wonderful different places, I would like to eat food from my country, is very delicious and different kinds.
Throughout my years attending Woodside, I joined the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), and Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA). Being involved with these two clubs so far has provided me with the astonishing lessons that I will need in life to have a successful future for myself. Also, I am planning to go very far in life after high school due to these two important clubs because of the many ways they have helped me as an individual. Not only did I participate in clubs but I have also volunteered at Greenwood Elementary School. Being a volunteer at this school involved me working with kindergarteners and 1st graders. My duties included reading to the children, helping with any assigned classwork or homework, making sure they are safe, and assisting the teachers with anything they needed help with. I have always had a passion of helping others and volunteering at Greenwood was a very enjoyable experience for
This year I have served 74 hours for Learner Leadership Council, 27 hours for National Charity League and 17 hours for New Tech High at Coppell. One of my favorite places to volunteer is at Cornerstone Closet where homeless adults come to get needed items and take showers. We get to help them find clothes, and necessities and spend time talking with them. Another organization that I spend a great deal of time serving in the summertime is Metrocrest. We put together the food backpacks for families through the Backpack Summer Hunger Project. These organizations reach out to other organizations and charities and assist with acts of service. Even on campus I have been able to serve others. Being a NTH@C Tour Ambassador has been an important way for me to give back to my school. I enjoy showing others our learning environment and the importance of what happens each day. By attending clubs on campus is also another way that I feel is a pertinent way to serve alongside others and celebrate their passions. School events such as ‘The Day’ and other school wide bondings also exemplifies service participation. It is a powerful way to show our connection to those around us on a daily
I need this scholarship to achieve my goals and most importantly to make my family proud. My family did not get this chance that you are giving me so I am not just doing this for me, I am also doing this for them. I already have all the support from all of my family and all of my friends, but that alone is not enough to conquer my dreams, and to prove all the people that have doubted me that they were wrong. I hope that this organization can help me reach my goals, and to most importantly make them become a reality. I want to look back onto my life and know that this scholarship, and college helped me to be the man I will be. I hope you accept me into your college and most importantly giving me this
Since second semester of sophomore year, I have the privilege of participating in my schools National Honor Society. Every month we have a meeting and, by the end of the year we are expected to have thirty hours of community service accomplished. Along with NHS, I attended a couple School Leadership meetings, but reluctantly had to stopped due to my schedule. Both junior and senior year i have participated in the club Business Professionals of America were I held parliamentarian junior year and secretary senior year.
In 1997, I was born In Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan. My parents, both Nicaraguans, had been living in New York for three years. In my younger years I visited my grandparents in Managua often. Both y brother and I, enjoyed the sense of family that we experienced when we traveled to Nicaragua. When we were in Nicaragua we would reunite with our cousins, uncles and other family members and friends. We were closely knit when we were in Nicaragua. We would celebrate when we were all together. One of these traditions was the celebration of The Pudisima. Yearly the Assumption of Mary is held on December 7. On this day we prayed, sang, and celebrated with food and fireworks. Caheta, caramel candy, and horchata, a beverage made with ground almonds,
For the past two summers, I helped Coach Hogan at the Holy Trinity Volleyball Camp by running drills with the campers. Also, the summer of sophomore year, I helped at the basketball camp here. Lastly, I was a Shadow Ambassador and helped at the Open Houses. I also have two upcoming interviews to hopefully get a volunteer opportunity at St. Joseph Hospital and Nassau University Medical Center.
Outside of scouting, I am very involved at various churches around the South Bay area. I have volunteered mostly at Journey of Faith church in Manhattan Beach; serving synonyms if at Vacation Bible School (VBS) during the summer, working the Audio/Visual on Sundays for the middle school and elementary school groups, and even operating the camera during church
I also, joined FBLA which have been a very influential program that helped me gain leadership. FBLA has allowed me to attend many business programs at different Universities, which gave me an experience of a lifetime. Today I would say that I have learned many things through FBLA and now I proud to say I am the President of the program. Towards the end of each year many students, such as myself, stayed back to assist the teachers with cleaning their classrooms. Alongside with gaining volunteer hours at school, I am a very busy person within my community. Whether my position taken in my neighborhood was to tutor younger children or participate in local clean ups, I’ve have more than enough room to exercise my leadership abilities. Still, I had more time to become a member of A.S.C.E.N.D. This program was a pre-sorority for young African American women and allowed many young ladies to participate within their community. We did things such as, creating many small gifts for the homeless by putting personal products into a book bag, fed the homeless, hosted talent shows, participated in Universities clean ups,
Being involved in many community organizations, I have assisted people from all walks of life.. For example, one week I volunteered at a senior bingo night at a retirement home facility, and the next week, I wrote letters to our troops. The National Honor Society has also given me the opportunity to give back to my own school. Last year, our organization did a gardening project in my school's courtyard revitalizing the landscape
April 1st, 2016 was my first ever mission trip. A group of high school kids, including myself, were given the life changing experience of going to Nicaragua. This was my first time leaving the country, I was nervous, but I knew I wanted to help people. The village that we went to was poor and run down. The houses, if you could even call them that, were made of 4 sheets of tin for the walls and one for the roof. During our one week mission, my church would be tasked with assisting the people of the Heroes and Martyrs Village. We had to spend months preparing for this task, but we had to be ready for the busy week ahead of us. Our mission consisted of building a small house that would be the shelter for anywhere between 2 and 8 people. We also
