Throughout life, my aspiration in terms of prospective careers has been shared by both education and business.
The allure of an education degree to me, is the prospect of some day stimulating the minds of young individuals and becoming an influential figure in their lives. In truth, I believe that an Education degree will allow me to explore all aspects of the educational field, and provide myself with an excellent basis for a career in teaching.
In my current Advanced level subjects I consider Business Studies as my forte, and this is supported by studies in Media, Sociology and History. The subject allows me to apply theory to real life situations, such as the theory of price elasticity within the consumer market. It is also my view that a degree in this subject will allow me to investigate in depth business, obtain valuable work experience, and obtain the vital skills that I will be able to apply in the world of work.
My current Advanced level studies are very demanding, but are the most beneficial academic programmes that I have taken part in. I enjoy the classroom teaching in a lecture style environment, but also get personal fulfilment from carrying out independent research, and adding my views to assignments that are set. I have recently enjoyed analysing the relative success and criticisms of the national curriculum in Sociology, which included analysing evidence from theorists such as Denis Lawton. I have also gained considerable satisfaction from studying the whole of my Business course, and on a daily basis research different mediums in order to obtain information regarding the business world. I consider this independent learning process as very beneficial and is a characteristic of undergraduate study that will best suit me.
As well as my compulsory educational programme, I regularly involve myself in extra curricular activities. I have taken part in the Young Enterprise scheme for which I was elected deputy Managing Director and Finance Manager. This was a very challenging activity that taught me the skills of dedication, motivation, teamwork, and time keeping in order for a business to function successfully.
In all of my educational institutions, I have been honoured with roles that carry with them a high degree of responsibility and pride. In my final year at high school, I was appointed as a peer councillor for lower school pupils, special needs assistant for children with English, Maths and ICT difficulties, and was also made year representative and prefect for my year.
It is important however to note that the NH4 and K ions are still in
The Effect of Substrate Concentration on the Rate of Reaction Between Yeast Catalase and Hydrogen Peroxide
3. The higher the concentration of the enzyme the more there are to catalyze the reaction. Taking information from graph 1 (change in mL of enzyme), the more mL of enzymes that there are the faster the reaction rate is. It would increase until there was no substrate left available for a reaction.
As a child growing up I was taught that being a business man was substantial in becoming a man. My father always made it his responsibility to engineer the foundation of business. His main goal for his son was to become an entrepreneur. Unfortunately, I became interested in a different field. With the same intentions of staying in business, business analyst grew on me unexpectedly. My father being the disciplinarian kept me business orientated but sports had an effect as well. Life began to hit me once I was leaving High School. As a high school student, I chose to take business classes but my attention was more so in sports. As a basketball player for 1-2 years and taking business classes, I became distracted in finding my career until I took this business class. The business class involved analyzing a business organization to examine its weakness and
Before conducting my experiment I will research into, amongst other things, the factors that affect the rate of a reaction. This is so that I may enough information to understand the effect of temperature on the rate of a reaction and also gain appropriate understanding to make a suitable prediction as to what the outcome of my experiment will be.
Education means a variety of things to any individual because it is the route to fulfilling dreams that one would not have otherwise been able to believe was possible. Just as food provides nourishment to the stomach, happiness satisfaction to the soul, education is the dietary supplement to the brain. Education endows one with the strength and motivation to have a dream, as a consequence one is able to lead a life filled with happiness. One is able to have contentment because with the attainment of an educated mind they are cognizant that they can achieve all of what they have ever imagined. As children we are taught to dream what we want to become and as an adolescent, we are able to live to become just as what we have imagined. The very essence of what we seek to become is educated in a sense because we can only become a step closer to making our reality come into existence without beginning with education.
In essence, the main objective was to use chemical titration to measure and then calculate the rate of conversion of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) to water and oxygen by using the enzyme catalase. Other purposes of the lab were; to measure the effects of changes of temperature, pH, enzymes concentration, and substrate concentration on rates of an enzyme. The lab was also an opportunity to see a catalyzed reaction in a controlled experiment. And the last objective was to learn how environmental factors affect the rate of enzyme catalyzed reactions.
In the Sixth Form, I regularly attend the school Debating Society, where I jointly hold the senior most position and organize many school charity events in my Senior Prefect role of Charities Coordinator. In the past, this has included raising nearly £3000 on the behalf of an Indian Cultural Society Fashion Show for the Indian earthquake. I was involved in the establishing of the first ever Student School Council in which I was Year Representative.
Ever since I was young I have always been interested in businesses and how they operate, as well as being fascinated by other languages and cultural differences. My passion for the subject expanded when I chose business studies and french, as part of my A-level education. Although these subjects are somewhat demanding, I find them extremely interesting. I believe that a degree combining both these aspects is the correct choice for me. I am confident that a course in international business studies and modern languages satisfies both these interests. I will be looking forward to learning about the international business world and I am relishing the thought of learning to integrate with other European countries. The idea of learning to communicate with other people across the world is something that has always appealed greatly to me.
I am very interested in pursuing my Masters Degree at some point, but my main goal is to get out into the school system as a teacher. The most important thing that I have learned in my life is the importance of education. Living in a world bursting with advantages and opportunities for those in education, I find it both a priority and a privilege to share the gift of knowledge with the future of society. Even more, I find it an honor to be able to have the chance.
As a child, have you ever been asked what do you want to be when you grow up? When I was little, all I ever wanted to do was open up my own dance company. I chose to study Business Administration because I love the feeling of being an in professional and sophisticated manner. I really feel as though choosing the business field was the best option I ever made for myself because I’m getting the opportunity to show many people out there how professional I can be and also the skills I have as a person.
As we reminisce and reflect back either on our childhood or academic career, we tend to have that one teacher who was memorable to us in some way - for their sense of humor, their stellar personality, or perhaps having that charisma and charm no other teacher had to make a difficult subject and it 's concepts fun to learn. While knowledge is power, I firmly believe that it is rather the exchange and distribution of knowledge that is power. When one can educate the masses there is no doubt that together we can accomplish great things. Becoming a teacher would mean the opportunity to be able to witness the shaping and molding of the minds of the future generations and the satisfaction knowing that you have helped your students set themselves onto the right path and provide guidance towards the creation of a better tomorrow. Choosing to become a teacher will allow me not only to educate my students, but also educate myself to be a better teacher throughout my career. I believe it is a function of human nature to want to change the world for the better. In adulthood, I have learned that the improvement of the welfare of the world must begin with
