Life begins at the end of one’s comfort zone. It seems normal that most people would grow up and already have learned how to ride a bike; that there are parents who took the time out of their day to help their child develop a common skill. However, that was not the case here. One of my closest friends, never learned how to ride a bike until he was 12. I was willing to accept the challenge to teach him. My neighbourhood is built in the shape of a rectangle, with a sidewalk in front of the houses surrounding the enormous green field in the middle of the area. Bikes and skateboards scattered in front of people's houses. My neighbor's name was Susan, was around 60, had fought a strong battle against breast cancer. JJ (Justin Jr.), 12 years old at the time, still had not learned how to ride a bike, in fact, he was terrified of them. Joe, tried numerous times to teach him when he was younger, but failed miserably when JJ fell over and injured himself badly. Since then, I made it my mission to help him learn how to ride a bike. When I had asked JJ if he wanted to learn how to ride a bike, he flat out said no, and ran off. Eventually, I dragged him back, and tried to reason with him.
