My Grandma As I sit here thinking about who has had the greatest impact on my life, I begin to think of everyone who had been involved in my success throughout my life. I realize that I have been looking in the wrong part of my life and went back and forth on who to choose. Most people have passed in and out of my life, yet the person who has the most impact was one who affects me every day. My grandma, by far, has had the greatest impact on my life. Her heart and determination are something that I can only hope to have myself one day. I have watched her struggle with running a household while trying to raise me and my sister by herself and work full time. I did not realize as a young teen what courage it takes to take on this workload. …show more content…
I could always look up in the stands any time I got awarded for good grades or anything else to see her cheering me on, while she held an armload of paperwork and tried to occupy my sister. My grandma has shown me that with determination and persistence I can accomplish anything. As the years passed, she could be found doing paperwork for a while, while sewing the sequins on my homecoming dress. As I am writing this paper I try to find ways to link myself back to my grandmas determination. While living with my grandma college was alwasy something she talked about. Growing up with two parents who either went to college and did not finish or a mother who did not go makes it easier to take my grandmas advice and go to …show more content…
She has always supported me in all my choices. She has strived to make my sister and I strong people with independent minds of our own. I look to her in hopes that someday I will be as happy, as strong, and as well-spoken as her. She has taught me the most important thing in life never give up on your dreams. I thank her dearly every day for helping me become who I am today. I would have never have made it this far as I would have without her help. My grandma is strong she does everything on her own, she has noone she can rely on when she needs something. She is the strongest person I know and does not need anyone to help her when it comes to moving big items, or putting up with so many things at one time and still she keeps herself together. With this I have learned to do things on my own, I do not rely on others if I need something I just do it
I can also thank Grandma for inspiring a love of animals in my mother and in myself. Grandma always had a cat around her house that she cared for. She loved watching animal shows on television, especially if they involved cats. In fact, she considered herself a cat person, until she met my dog Alex. I say 'my dog,' but he's really my Mom's dog now, and for a lot of the time, when my Mom was traveling on business, it was my Grandma's dog too. We knew that both Grandma and Grandpa really like Alex when they let him sleep on the chest at the foot of their bed - now THAT was a big deal!
Because she always motivate me to go follow and fight for what I want. I believe that be who are I’m today is such as great inspiration because I wasn’t born here and I almost graduate from college and I have the best family and education value that one can have in this life. For example, I have to take CAT-W test and I feel so disappointment about myself because I already take three times and I fail. But my mom tells me that she knows how I’m and who I want to be in the future that never stop look for my dreams and she always going to be there for me. I think that we you know yourself even when people tell you that you cant do you still be there try to reach your goals
“College accepts students who are well rounded.” This is what my middle teacher told my entire class during our last day of school of my eight grade year. He then went on in saying “You’re going to be entering high school in a couple months. These are the years colleges will be looking at the most.” This speech that he made impacted me greatly. Since I was little my parents has stressed the importance of attending a college or university when I get order. One of the reasons being is that both of my parents did graduate college. They would always tell me about the jobs that they could not apply for because these jobs required a degree.
She has made many personal sacrifices for my education. After a day of working with elementary schoolers, she tirelessly without complaint took me to the library as many times as I requested. Somehow during 6th grade, after I received an invitation from People to People, she found the money for me to travel to Australia for two weeks. I am more independent because I watched her succeed on her
She also was on the school board at my grade school, was politically active, and was active in our church. Seeing her stand up to error in public situations gave me the strength to do the same. Sadly, I had to fight error in my high school history class. I disputed my religion teacher's position concerning the civil rights movement (just one of many discussions we had that year). But without Mom's example, I would have been silent like the other kids.
She told me what to do, how to do it correctly, and how everything I did was helping her. She allowed me to take her blood pressure, clean her wounds, administer IV medications, and even give her basic physicals. I owe her the world for sparking my love for
She is the light in my life. Till this moment, I could still remember the smile on her face when she walked through the classroom door, sat in front of me, and changed my life ever since. I was so much happier with my life here. Whenever I am around her, I feel at ease and at home. All hardships now bear a meaning, and I found it purpose of my life to bring happiness and joy to her.
This lady is the most wonderful person I 've ever met. She is old, affectionate, and intelligent. It took me eighteen years to realize how much this extraordinary person influenced my life. She 's the type of person who charms everyone with her stories and experiences. She always time for her family and friends. She is the kind of leader who does everything to keep her family together and in harmony. She is my grandmother.
She could explain anything to me and I would understand straight away. She helped a lot for my education and always was there to help. My parents knew that she could teach me and show how hard it is these days and how hard I should work. That is why they always made sure I saw her enough but it never was for me.
My grandma was one of those people that would worry no matter what it was because she cared for you that much and didn’t want to see you get hurt. Just her being worried about gave me comfort in things that I did because I know if something happened that she would take care and comfort me any way possible. The biggest impact that she had on me was that you should always have a smile on your face and look at the bright side because if you dwell on the negatives in life you won’t go anywhere and you will always stay the same. My grandma has been through a lot of things through her life before she passed and some the things that she had to go through no one else would be able to come out the other side and not be totally gone or insane. One of the biggest things that happened was losing her son to cancer my Uncle Jim.
While in school, Mom didn’t have it easy. Not only did she raise a daughter and take care of a husband, she had to deal with numerous setbacks. These included such things as my father suffering a heart attack and going on to have a triple by-pass, she herself went through an emergency surgery, which sat her a semester behind, and her father also suffered a heart attack. Mom not only dealt with these setbacks, but she had the everyday task of things like cooking dinner, cleaning the house and raising a family. I don’t know how she managed it all, but somehow she did.
My mother was not only worry and take care of me, she always by my side when I need her help. I felt sad, my mother always by my side to talk and to console. While I am glad, my mother is always been there to share and listen to me. When I failed to do something, my mother who was gave me advices. She has always supported me in all my choices. She tried to make me strong people with independent minds. I looks to her in hopes that someday I will be as happy, as strong and as well as
Ever since day one, she has proven to be a wise woman. When preparing for a test she helps me by giving me useful advice on how to mentally prepare for it. When in doubt
...mportant person in my life and I know that she will be always there for me with help, her love, and her care. She’s a wonderful person, she admires the beauty of life, and as a result she is always in a good mood. Now, like my mother, I’m a positive thinker, and I am a creative person who believes life is what you create it to be. I also know if I have to make any big decisions in my life, I can always ask my mom for advice because she has the wisdom and experience. I also know that she will tell me the truth even if it is not something that I want to hear, but she will tell me with kindness and without any judgment. My mother is my role model because she does so much for me; she gives me everything she has just to make my life easier. I love my mother and I am so thankful that she is the way she is. My mother is always there for me and I would do anything for her.
Being around her I was always nurtured and felt much love, I felt safe. My grandmother presence has affected me in a positive way. I feel as though the effects are great; my learning experience is one that sacrificed for anything. She continues to inspire me to become successful and finish college no matter what. My grandmother is a business lady and someday soon I will have a business of my own. I have learned so much from my grandmother; I can take these lessons and have a bright, rich and successful future because of them. I have received so much love from her and I thank her for that each and every day. It’s not a day that goes by that we don’t speak and every day she inspires me to do better and push harder in my studies. I really appreciate everything that she has taught me and I have nothing but the up-most respect for this lady…Selena
