In my philosophy paper, I’m going to touch on the Beliefs about the Family and the quality and nature of family life. The beliefs about the purpose of family life education. The beliefs about the content of family life education. The beliefs about the process of learning for families. Child and Family Studies has to do with interacting with children and families. Those are things that I like to do in life. I want to be helpful and encouraging.
My philosophy since I graduated from SLCC has changed. My major was originally Childhood Education PK-3 and I’ve since changed my major in the short time I have been at UL partly because my family and the demands of the Education department. I expect my philosophy to change as life changes.

Every family has its own values, moral, ethical, cultural, religious and personal. Our roles vary depending on the stage we are currently in. For instance, as of now, I’m a married woman, with 2 children ages 9 and 5. When I started college I was a single mom with a 1 year old and 4 year old. I lived with my husband at the time but we weren’t married then. It needs to take into consideration the appropriateness of the content, the need to have program content that is bias and stereotype free. The importance of supporting content with up-to-date research. Educators must be familiar with sources of information that is available to them this way they can make referrals when needed.
Beliefs about the process of learning for families. The most important thing to consider is awareness of one’s own personal beliefs about how individuals and families learn best. Groups learn differently than individuals. In groups, you have input from others where as an individual you don’t get that. Some people work better in groups where as others work better alone and don’t depend on a group to get things done. I prefer to work alone, I know that my work is my effort. They can be effective if everyone in the group does their part. The developmental needs, social and emotional needs of the group are very important. Not everyone in a group has the same background and upbringing. Each person in a group has something different to offer to the group. Whether it be an experience they have had or something they are currently going through. Having goals and evaluating goals as you accomplish tasks is a great way to get groups to move in a positive
