As an Industrial Engineering student of Technological Institute of the Philippines, it is incorporated in our curriculum that we take part in the program of the course Plant Visit and Seminars. In the said course, we participated in an activity called Structured Learning Experience. Let's first discuss what is Structured Learning Experience or SLE. As defined, SLE is the experiential, supervised, in-depth learning experiences that are designed to offer students the opportunity to fully explore career interests within one or more of the Career Clusters. Indeed, it was a tough course to take and I've gained a lot of new insights and learnings in the process. There are several points I have learned. First, is the planning stage. During conceptualization, I met with my group mates and we talked about things that we want to happen and how to make it happen. We gathered relevant information and facts related to the activity that we are planning. Then we started organizing. We put our ideas into action, carefully scrutinize the details and make sure that every aspect is covered. Next is we delegated. We appointed point person that will spearhead the proper execution and facilitation of the activities. I have realized that our country is more on exporting talents rather than creating a venue to further enhance those talents and giving them a competitive edge and reason to stay. An example of how successful a manufacturing business is in other country is Toyota in Japan. The manufacturing plant is so big it can fit 6 SM Megamalls inside. Can you imagine how Japan was able to achieve and maintain such a flourishing company? It is thru their hard work and dedication to be better and aim higher. This is where productivity, as a TIP graduate attribute, comes in. Focus on aspects where I can contribute in nation building and development. I must put into action what I have learned through my years as a student and develop ideas to improve productivity in factories. Toyota did not bloom overnight. Subsequently what is done is that selected high schools develop a curriculum that is organized around a specific career cluster, which are like a specialized charter school. The goal is to feature a series advanced “pathway” courses that can help students to enrich their knowledge through work-based learning and academics. In turn, this specialized education will allow student to demonstrate their understanding through assessments and industry credentialing opportunities. As well these schools are enrolled in a learning exchange that have partnerships that are organized to support the programs of study by coordinating statewide networks of education partners, businesses, industry associations, labor, and other organizations (2013, p. 21-23). Consequently, the program is driven to help high school students develop a career path and to receive exploratory education that will given them an advantage in either college endeavors or in the job market.
Time sure does fly; in the blink of an eye, yet another 7.5-week class has come and gone. Just like life, it is scary to think that in just a few short years I will be graduating college and be in search of a future career. The magnitudes of readings, assignments, PowerPoint lectures, and videos have all contributed to the valuable knowledge I have gained since taking this course. Nothing that was presented or required was seen as invaluable towards my progression of career development. This career development course has allowed me to do some self-exploration, career research, and help me understand what influencing factors were related to the job market. Ultimately, this class helped me gauge and find a suitable career path, which will forever shape my future.

Bruce Tuckman maintains that there are four stages of group development, forming, storming, norming, and performing. These stages are all essential and unavoidable in order for a group to mature, overcome challenges, find solutions, plan work, and produce effective results. (University of Washington, 2013)
The group should come up with a list of tasks that need to be completed to lead to project completion. Assign tasks amongst the group, with this idea in mind: tasks are one thing that can be done by one person, not a major responsibility or series of tasks that complete a goal. The tasks should be completed by everyone, then put together into a whole to meet the goal.

When reading the book The Goal written by Eliyahu Goldratt, there were many lessons that I learned in order to have a clear and concise understanding of a positive level of productivity in a company. To have a positive level of productivity there are may components that are taken into consideration. Understanding what it actually means to be productive and how to increase the level of productivity by knowing the actual goal of the company that is trying to be reached and the components that go into the process of being productive. There are many factors that contribute to the level of productivity and being able to identify these factors is the key ingredient to having a successful level of productivity.
When first being introduced to a group, it can be quite stressful trying to figure out how you and your team members are going to function together. As with any group, there are a few milestones that need to be reached in order to ensure a functional and successful relationship. Specifically, groups need to go through Tuckman’s Group Development Stages. These stages consist of forming, storming, norming, performing, and in some scenarios, a final stage of adjourning may be reached. After participating in this assignment, we as a group were easily able to identify, and analyze, each stage of our development.
Currently, I have completed 9 12-hour shifts in the medical/surgical ICU, during this time I have made excellent progress in attaining my established goals. I completed sub-goal 1 and have completed approximately 75% of sub-goal 2. I was successful as my goals this semester were realistic and achievable within the short time frame (10 weeks). In total I created 4 unique and specific activities to assist in achieving my overarching learning goal.
Manufacturing businesses and business leaders need to increase their focus on key success factors such as: innovation, productivity improvement, investment in people & skills, and funding. Innovation is not just about retention and development, or the latest technology. It’s also about practical and efficient problem solving and business transformation. In the manufacturing industry, this can be achieved by: refining or exploring new supply and distribution channels, establishing new business offerings, developing leaner organizational arrangements, improving processes, providing a better customer experience, and accessing green, clean technology – high on the agenda for environmentally conscious customers (Performance, 2011)
Having now completed my group work task, I can look back and reflect upon the process that my group went thought it get to the presentation end point. Firstly my group had to form (Kottler, Englar-Carlson 2010 p.93). There are many theories on how groups come together and the stages they go though. Tuckman is a commonly used theories due to the simple nature of his five stage theory. Tuckman believes that in order for a group to form they must go through his five stages: forming, storming, norming and performing (Tuckman 1965 p.17). In 1977 along side Jensen Tuckman added mourning to his process.

In order to gain some purpose while working in a group, I know it can be challenging task to do because every group member is required to agree and cooperate. I am privileged to become a part of a group and completed our task successfully. Our group consists of 5 members and we experienced the stages of group development along with which different roles being considered. Our group formed with the common interest of competing and representing ourselves as competent and knowledgeable. Everyone has a different view on how they learn and learning itself. First starting in EXP 105, my understanding of learning was new knowledge and becoming wiser. Taking EXP 105 has truly increased my knowledge of what learning is and the process of it. The most important thing I have learned about learning is that you observe the world around you, make sure it is understandable, and figure out the right way to respond. Learning also provides critical thinking skills. Everyone have different ways of learning and those ways are based on four different learning patterns. The four different types of learning patterns are Sequence, Precision, Technical Reasoning, and Confluence. During my time as a student I have been able to develop the way I learn and interact with others to a degree that has also helped me to mature into a better person. I have come to believe that this maturity will help me to develop into a better thinker as well, one that has the patience to listen and take consideration of what others have to say. I consider the act of learning a two way avenue that has to be taken seriously. It is one that involves the teacher, and the protégé. It has been, and will continue to be, my absolute goal as a student to become a diligent protégé and acquire all of learning my teachers have set in front of me. The way each of them have helped me to think about how my actions, and the way I choose to study my lessons and develop as a student, has made a tremendous impact on my life. This impact is one that I will carry into the future as I myself advance in my professional studies.
