Personal Essay An engagement that gives me leadership skills is community services. I am always involved in these activities on a volunteer basis. I spend most of my holiday time participating in programs that provide meal services to the homeless and less fortunate. The social status of the poor predisposes them to numerous challenges in their lives. My engagement in these activities is facilitated by various non-governmental organizations related to human and social services delivery. Some of the services include providing these individuals with shelter and food. Also, on campus, I participate in multiple service activities. I helped explain the campus to inner-city school kids and Community College Students whom visited the campus.
I also helped to raise money to fund foster children programs and wheelchairs for orphans. My first long-term goal is to continue serving those that are less fortunate. I have a strong affinity to this population because I was taught at a young age that it is important to give back to the community through volunteering. There is nothing better than seeing someone smile and hearing a simple “thank you.” Hearing these kind words is enough of a reward, and is what motivates me to keep helping them with their situations. The second long-term goal is to become a physician specializing in psychiatry. I can honestly state that I have wanted to be a doctor since I was eight years old. I want to study psychiatry because I have always been interest in the human mind and cognitive processes that the field seems to be a perfect fit for me. There, I could analyze and study the human, mind while helping others. It is clear to see that from the previous paragraphs that I have a strong affinity to help others that are less fortunate. Through my commitment and obligation, I am always motived in being involved in volunteer activities. My engagement in these activities has enhanced my leadership skill and it gives me the confidence and the desire to uphold the integrity to humanity and the assurance to enhance a mature approach to reality. A leader is someone who would stop at nothing to help others in need. Just like me, through confidence and the desire to help others, leaders try to make life at least a little brighter and better for someone else.
Finally, leadership is an equally important characteristic I display. As a class officer for the past two years, my job is to guide and encourage the class to participate in projects and events. Even though many were hesitant, I showed leadership and encouraged participation. I also am a possible candidate for an officer position in Student Council. I have been selected for this position based on my strong leadership abilities, such as bringing forth ideas, compromising for projects, and speaking up when others will not.
My most fulfilling leadership experience would have to be starting the 4-H Medical Careers Spin Club. I started the club three years ago, to allow teens to have opportunities to experience the medical field before they spend money on a career they may end up not liking. The Club has been able to tour medical schools, hospitals, cancer centers, and many other facilities. I was instrumental in getting three teens in the club to apply and get accepted to Southern Illinois University School of Medicine Physician Pipeline Preparatory Program I am involved in. Countless people in the medical field kept wanting to help me gain medical opportunities, but HR departments and HIPAA rules kept getting in the way. Through this experience, I learned that

I had an interview with my partner Her name is Juliet ,she is from Africa ,she moved to the United States with her husband and two children about 3 years ago . She is glad to come to the United States now she is living in the city of Fredericksburg with her husband and children ,she lives in the apartment, so asked her what do you like and what you do not like about your home ? She says I like my home because It is a good community and sometime i do not like it because i live at the second floor af the apartment and my children play at home it make my neighbor upset . She says I would like to buy house in the future and i would like to move from this Apartment . She says she has two kids, one boy and one girl and she is married ,her cousin also lives in the United States , most of her relatives live in her home country and she misses her mom more than anybody else.
Social psychology is a scientific study that studies how people think, feel, and how they behave under the influence of other people (Aronson, Wilson & Akert, 2013, p. 2). Thinking about what social influence really means, we tend to think of a person who tries to persuade another person to acting a certain way. It can be a form of peer pressure, like taking that first puff of a cigarette, or it can be conforming to popular societal views, such as obeying the law of the land. Fiction is a great way to learn about social psychological perspectives. Watching popular theatrical films is the perfect way to learn because it illustrates the application of many perceptions within the subject of social psychology.
It is crucial to recognize how important it is for a social worker to apply the proper engagement strategy. Every person is different, so not every engagement strategy works for everyone. In order to engage effectively, a social worker would have to consider the client’s strengths, challenges, and countertransference from the social worker toward the client. The case that will be examined is an 87-year-old Iranian Muslim male who is being treated for end -stage liver cancer and does not speak English. It would be important to engage with the client and his family in a compassionate and effective manner as well as with the respect for their culture, religion, and spiritual beliefs.
AB appears to struggle with trust. During initial engagement he is described as guarded. He appears not to be forthcoming about some things. AB stated things he has said has been misconstrued or misinterpreted. So he has become selective in the information he shares. He has had encounters with various service providers throughout his 15 years in care. When he appears uncomfortable he shuts down. When he believes he is being judge or degraded he becomes offensive and verbally aggressive. AB needs additional time, additional time and positive reinforcement. He needs to feel as if he has control of areas of his life. During the engagement process, one should focus on him as a person and she him as a victim of the trauma he has experience.
In the effort to support a growing population of diverse students, states are encouraging schools to promote family engagement and education equality. To help with this promotion schools need to have a welcoming and friendly environment for students, family, and staff members. The purpose for family engagement is to get families evolved in education to help support the academic success of their children. The most common family engagement opportunity is an open house right before school starts and parent/teacher conferences. However, family engagement events should be promoted throughout the year just not 3 times a year.
The best leadership accomplishment that demonstrates my potential to make significant contributions to the campus community and broader society is cheerleading. Cheerleading has made a huge impact on my life and has created many opportunities for me. It has paved the way for my high school career.
