My Desire to Help the Poor Through My Study of Medicine

Quite simply, I want to study medicine and explore medical field in order to help underprivileged people and to those who require medical help. Being raised in a small town of India, I have seen poverty and poor health care system first hand. I believe I am well suited for a medical career where I have a strong desire to improve health of others in a substantial fashion. Always curious about the medical field and how the human body functions, I have constantly forced my parents to take me to their hospitals since I was 8 years old. Stubbornness has always been one of my traits ever since I was a kid. I would observe my parents perform various surgeries, comfort families, take care of patients and their families, which taught me to be compassionate. At my father’s hospital, I would voluntarily meet patients, their families, and children’s at times; playing and helping them soothe their pain through jokes and candy.
