I am seeking membership into the National Honors Society because being apart of the National Honors Society is an honor and it will help me keep track and stay accountable for my GPA Senior year. It will also help me establish some leadership skills; as seen earlier in my application, I do not have an extensive background in showing leadership, I feel that NHS will help me change that. I can contribute to NHS while cooperating with others and help keeping a positive atmosphere for the organization. Some of my qualities that will contribute positively to NHS is; I am a Leader, not the traditional type but I do things on my own and do not rely on the opinions of others to help guide me. An example of this is taking Spanish for
National Honors Society is an extremely prestigious and well-known group that gave me the opportunity to assist the community while working harmoniously with my peers. To get into NHS, there are four pillars one must fulfill, including, scholar, service, leadership, and character. One may not realize it, but these qualities apply all throughout life. In order to be successful, one must achieve some form of each pillar. Being dedicated and committed to learning and improving but also using the knowledge one previously has is to be a scholar. Giving back to one’s community by making improvements or donations or simply just being courteous to one’s neighbor is to give one’s service. Taking the initiative to solve problems and guide others towards
The National Honors Society is based off of four pillars: Scholarship, Leadership, Character and Service. These are all characteristics a member of the National Honor Society should exhibit. I believe that I possess all of these characteristics and should be given the chance of becoming a NHS member. I am writing to inform you of my possible contributions to the National Honor Society and my interest in becoming a member. I view myself as a strong minded individual with a strong incentive to learn. Acquiring the ability to learn fast and adapt quickly has enabled me to be a part of a wide range of organizations. My participation and loyalty to the NHS could result in a great strive forward. I could provide more ideas of services to benefit the school and our community. I would also devote a large portion of my free time to the organization and assist in any way possible. Whether that means coming in early in the morning or staying late after school, I would do any means necessary to show my commitment.
The history of the NHS from being chaotic to having an organised st ructure. The structure of the NHS is divided into local authority and social service, hospital services and general practitioners including specialist care. When the NHS was developed, there was no prediction of how much all the services would cost to run. The government introduced the first service charges for dentures in 1951and prescription and spectacle’s in 1952 this could have been due to everyone needing medical care at the same time. This also suggests that individuals health improved, likely to live longer and would need more services in the future which the government realised would be unrealistic to achieve. Even then, as it is currently, it remains difficult
I feel I am a good candidate for NHS because I strive to be a leader not just in school but everywhere. I also strive to be a good model for other students and friends. I have a young sister who repeats everything I do, so it is important that I am a good role model. I have always been a person who takes control of a situation or a project. I love putting down the foundations for group projects and assignments and building plans/strategies.

Being a member of the National Honor Society would allow me to continue my commitment to community service. I have developed my character and leadership skills in my previous community service projects. Some of my community service projects have included my silver award (Girl Scouts) that fixed the hoophouse by the elementary school, taught a local troop about recycling for the journey to my gold award, my bronze award which I babysat kids during Christmas, the community egg hunt, yearly flower planting at Cousin’s Park, the humane society, basketball and football concessions, working lugnuts, and parking for MSU football games.

The National Honor Society is a very prestigious organization that I would love to be a part of. It was an honor to be nominated as a candidate. I am currently a sophomore in high school, and I have always wanted to be a member of the National Honor Society. As I look back over the years and think of the times I have attended the ceremonies and saw all the awards the members received, I recall saying to myself “That’s going to be me one day.”. I asked my teachers about all the requirements that had to be met to be a National Honor Society member and I made it my main goal to meet each and every one.
The NHS was then finalised during 1948, the main role of the NHS was to reduce health inequalities throughout Britain, so that everyone could be treated the same way, whatever their finance stability, job status and location. They believed that this programme should have reduced inequalities throughout Britain. It was created by Aneurin Bevan and Edwin Chadwick but it was successful until the Prime Minister at the time who was Margaret Thatcher accepted the Bill through Parliament. The National Honor Society has four goals: to ignite a passion for scholarship; to inspire a fervor in its members to help others; to advocate leadership; and to further the development of fortitude and integrity in high school students. However, I believe that organizations like the National Honor Society accomplish so much more in our community and school. The National Honor Society not only unites like-minded students that are willing to work towards a better future, but it also amplifies the voices of those whose accomplishments lie in their ability to express themselves. Furthermore, NHS provides an opportunity for students like me to broaden their horizons and become active members of society.
My community service work at County Hospital is to care for the rudimentary needs of each patient. My goals are to provide inspiration during the healing process, teach kindness and compassion, and discover my own abilities for empathy. "Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I'll try again to tomorrow (Mary Anne Radmacher)." My hope as a volunteer is to help each patient find that voice, find that courage to go forward.
